  1. This team is done and probably has been for some time. It's tragic that what was an absolutely magnificent side, probably one of the best ever put together, with Mane, Firminho and Salah, didn't win more because of the oil cheats. This lot have given up, part of that is on Klopp, he looks checked out to me too, and he's lost a lot of authority over lads like Salah it would seem. I can forgive a Liverpool side a lot, fuck knows we've seen some shite ones down the years, but putting in these kinds of performances against the mancs and the shite is unforgivable frankly.

  2. I hate this iteration of our team with an absolute passion. At least last year we had the excuse of past it players coming off the back of an enormous push for four trophies. This lot? These are the absolute dogs. A few special mentions if i may: Darwin Nunez or Darwin 'fucking' Nunez as we all like to call him. An absolute waste of a space forward who has probably cost us a few trophies this season. He's just not fucking good enough. Better strikers have been bombed out of Liverpool for less. Szoboslai, an utter coward of a player. Seems to posses some great traits but like Keita before him, just doesn't fancy it and has no fire in his belly. An utter waste of 60 million. Trent. A lot of our current day issues are to do with the constant pandering to him in the team by management. He's a sublime passer but his insistence of playing a different role has fucked the system and that's on Klopp. Konate - always said he was a donkey, like Traoare on peds. He hasn't got the brains for central defence. he cant pass and he cant score at set pieces and he's always injured. Should be sold asap. Jota - broken Endo - not his fault but no more than a squad player at best. A fine example of Liverpool buying on the cheap. Gravenberch - What is he? Who is he? I could mention Salah and VVD but that would be unfair as both are coming to the end of their careers and have given us a lot. Attitude: Never, ever in my lifetime supporting Liverpool have i seen a team with such a casual approach to playing football matches. Say what you like about Man City, but there's a professionalism we lack in spades. We've been beaten and held by some of the WORST teams I've ever seen in this league, Luton, Everton, Manchester United, Palace, Atalanta. Utter pits of teams who have hardly been able to win matches and stop conceding. We've made to look like front runners. Utterly pathetic. Our tactics - utter shit. Inflexible garbage. Same formation week in week out, same inverted system that fucks with everybody's head. Same game that relies on players running themselves into the ground till they break. A system that gives up a million clear cut chances a game to some of even the shittest sides around. No brains, no intelligence, just a 4-3-3 that's as old as time. Our transfers - Lorded all over the land, our transfers have been cheap, poorly planned and pathetic. The last time we bought well was about three years ago if that. Every summer its about bargains and "just doing enough". You cant act like that and win the big trophies, its just not possible. Our summer business the last two season has been about a 2/10. Grim. Our Owners - Money men with no love for the game. Yeah they've done ok with finances and assets as you would expect but they lack the passion you need to win things, like the Club did of old. They've relied on a guy to glue this club together whose aged about 20 years in 10 and now they have no safety net. prepare for rough waters. Some might say we are lucky to be challenging but forget that. We were here and we had it in our hands and whats worse was that we pissed it away against some of the utter dross of the league, its unforgiveable. Id even say the Cup was won by the kids and not the seniors as they were mostly awful in the final. the only time i got excited was seing a blend of kids and seniors start to make headway but even that was tossed out for our inflexible setup. If i was Jurgen i'd just go now. He's been great and I dont want to see him toil in his final days as he doesnt deserve it, he's given his all over the years whilst most at the club have done fuck all.

  3. Honestly, Code, stop it. Salah stunk the place out, didn't get involved (apart from the "two times he had a pass in front of him"...!?). Diaz lost the ball more than Salah because he had TWICE AS MUCH OF THE BALL AS SALAH. He was getting involved and was trying to make things happen. I'd say watch the game again without prejudice but I know it's like talking to a pre-programmed robot. Will Diaz have the career that Mo has had? Almost certainly not. Is he a better player than Mo? No, he's not. Was he better in last night's game than Salah - yes, he was.

  4. It really is. Because - whether it's "unprofessional" or not - these games mean more than others. They really are about pride in the shirt and the club, and frankly we looked lame and soft in these games. That they were also crucial matches just makes it worse. I'm not particularly arsed about this group going forward.

  5. Disingenuous. You smear your opinions of Salah all over the forums - including in the match thread last night - like a dirty protest with the added bonus of decontextuialised screenshots of stats. Always with the subtext that you see things that we interloping amateurs just can't see. In that thread you were absolving Salah of all blame which you lay squarley at the feet of Diaz. Diaz was our best player last night, and was trying to make things happen. He received little to no support from his fellow front liners. So here we are.

  6. Nunez is 25 in a months time. He is what he is as a player. He might have a great season now and then but he won't suddenly turn into a reliable goal scorer.

  10. Anyone who thinks FSG are going to spend big is off their fucking trolley. We're scouring the market for a manager who's used to feeding on scraps, that's not so we can give him massive money. Like it or not, fsg will believe last summer was big.

  11. I do notice he takes too long to move the ball on but it seems everyone just stands still behind their man so nothing is on. Tbh its our biggest problem, fuck all movement off the ball. You can tell we're in for a shit team performance within about 15 minutes based on our shape and how fluid we are off the ball.

  12. And thats exactly why they'll continue to be a bunch of small time weirdos not worth getting too bothered by anymore, this is now what they consider a massive achievement, they earnt their gloat tonight but in the grand scheme they weren't the team that stopped us winning the title anyway even if that's what they'll proceed to make out. Even when we are shit we've managed to add a trophy to the cabinet again this season, meanwhile the clocks about to tick over to 29 years since they last had a sniff of silverware, im pretty comfortable in the knowledge that while we win trophies their biggest achievements are pointless derby win and transfer windows.

  15. Just as he got most of the plaudits when we were all-conquering, he gets most of the blame now when we're struggling. It's the life of a star player. I maintain that Mane and Firmino were equally important to our success back then, we were just set up for Salah to have lots and lots of chances, and score lots of goals (which he did in admirable fashion) He looks completely washed now, and totally bereft of confidence. Code can keep chirping on about him not getting the ball. Won't matter, as he hasn't gone past a defender or delivered a decent finish in what seems like months. The few times he got it against an injured (!) Mykolenko he just took the easy way out and passed it backwards. The only way we keep him is if his hamstring is still a problem, and that's why he has fallen off a cliff. If this is his physical level now we need to get rid.

  16. We've had 2 title challenging season destroyed by Salah's form after returning from afcon. On both occasions he was flying going into it and then basically a passenger after returning. The problem with Salah, is he's so good, he gets picked regardless of form. But you can't just be on the pitch and not compete, which is what we've seen since his return from injury. If Salah is to stay, he needs to fuck off international football. He's too old to do it now.

  17. I can absolutely handle him leaving, always could and not just because he now looks more than ready to go. I can absolutely handle that the chances are we now slip back into mediocrity, and probably for a very long time. It was always on the cards post-Klopp. What I am struggling with (especially last night but feel a bit better this morning) is the fact we've not been able to celebrate a title win with Klopp. It's gutting it really is as he so deserved it and so did we. I'm sure this feeling will pass and thankfully the celebrations in 2019 are quite something to remember.

  18. A balanced view, and agree with most of it. It seems however we need to get rid of Salah first. He’s been going backwards for a couple of years now, and this season has been very poor. The team has looked significantly better when he’s been out, and the sample size is pretty decent now. His numbers are still decent, but you could say the same about Zlatan and Ronaldo at United. But none of them made the team better, and I think we’ve Come to that stage with Salah as well. Probably not a good idea to let both go at the same time, and Salah clearly needs to go first of the two, based on how much they bring to the team and of course also age and wages.

  19. I'm doing my best to stay out of these conversations, but one thing strikes me. Van Dijk isn't much of a captain when the chips are down is he? Bit of a shithouse to be honest. As much as this will piss some posters off, if we'd had a Henderson or preferably Milner as Captain would we have surrendered so meekly?

  20. The difference between Nunez, Mo and Diaz is that Mo has a history of being an incredible goal scorer and more often than not he's come up with the goods when we've needed it. Diaz works his arse off, tracking back, getting involved, making mad runs with the ball, admittedly with limited impact of late. Nunez has none of those attributes. Other than rare moments of brilliance such as Newcastle away, he's inconsistent, brain dead, can't finish, can't stay onside. There isn't one person on here who wouldn't like to see him turn that around but if 2 years under Klopp hasn't worked I don't see what will. Get rid.

  22. Yeah none of this diminishes what Klopp has done for us its just a grim ending. Honestly I dont want a Klopp light if Slot has been brought in because this football style is very similar to Klopps I'm not interested, these players are run into the ground by the amount of fixtures alone, high intensity high line just feels like its a recipe for disaster in the long term unless you are at absolute peak. Biggest annoyance we just don't learn our lessons ever either in games or long term. A team plays a specific way that can really hurt us we won't adjust we just let them hurt us and continue to hurt us until the inevitable goal comes. I'm tired of absolutely massive spaces at the back so if we misplace a pass its a panicked race to our box and I'm tired of an overly congested final third where we have pushed about 20 players into one small area and then have no idea where to play it so we knock it all the way back to Dijk. It's just felt like a slow death to a great side alongside a long goodbye. The conceding first early so many damn times and having to score so many last minute goals was never a good sign regardless of people being happy at our mental strength. That's some taxing shit. The seasons done, the pressure is off let's just hope to see Klopp relaxed about it philosophical and hope he can enjoy the remainder of his time here, it might end with a whimper but it shouldn't without a smiling Klopp.

  30. You lot are mad He's burnt out, we've over played him and look at what he's working with. A tippy toe shuffler journeyman (Endo) another midfielder who can't pass very well (Dom) or Jones who doesn't release the ball or see a pass early enough Then look at what's ahead of him, a brainless striker who doesn't make good runs or link the play, Mo who hasn't got the legs and is badly out of form and Diaz who makes decent runs and then does his own thing. When Mac Allister is playing further up the 2 other midfielders can't get him on the ball and even if he does get on it, who's he meant to pass to? He's definitely not the problem here. Give him more intelligent players to play with, he's a quality player.

  31. I don't think they've downed tools, I think they've just shit the bed. For most of this season, whatever was going against them - injuries, spawny goals, shit decisions - they'd keep believing that they would be able to find a way to win; and they did, time and again. For the last few weeks they've played with a defeatist shithouse attitude, as if they'd read stuff like Stroggy's post and now they believe it.

  32. Have we though? We might just about be alright at CB even though Van Dijk and Konate have left a lot to be desired recently. Quansah great potential . The full backs are questionable, can Robertson get back anywhere near his best? And Trent absolutely won't. Bradley has great potential. The rest, squad players Midfield, our Achilles heel for years, only Mac Allister has shown to be good enough. Szoboslai unproven. The rest, squad players. Up front only Diaz has warranted his starting place this season. Nunez is Nunez, Jota is always injured, and Mo hasn't been near his best for two years. There's question marks all over the pitch.

  33. This seems to be another myth that’s developing. We don’t need hard work from the forwards. In fact we get hard work from everyone other than Trent (literally any work would from him would do tbf). Every other player in the team is playing like we are down to 10 men which we basically are when that cunt is on the team sheet. Darwin Nunez runs around more than anyone. Diaz is probably second on the list and he’s first on the list of running with the ball. Salah gets completely killed because we’ve got no right back. The odd time he does get the ball he’s getting pushed back up the line as he receives it and has to go back to the keeper. None of this changes by bringing a complete novice kid on. The substitutions as horrific as they looked actually changed nothing because it’s the horrific set up that’s the problem and has been since we switched to it. It’s actually relieving that we aren’t guaranteed to be seeing next season.

  37. We’ve got the personnel to do anything. It’s the reason we are so close to the top of the league. We’ve won all these games this season from individual quality. The tactics have been deplorable week in week out for the whole year. I’ve just watched Klopps post match interview and it’s just complete delusion. He’s just going on about how many chances we’ve created in the last so many games. I just don’t understand what he’s watching. The last half an hour of the game summed up the season. We never look like scoring because we don’t create chances from the system he plays. It’s absolutely fucking garbage. The reason we are here is that game after game he’s just refused to address it and hoped the players quality would get us through but Trent reappearing kyboshed that in this one with his shithouse defending and walking football. Everyone is slagging off the players but they all ran around and did the same shit Klopps asked all season.

  38. Well that was shit. Sadly, the team has lost its intensity. Imagine getting bullied by Everton. And we just took it. Something has changed in this group, I imagine maybe because of klopp going, but it's been noticeable pretty much since we won the league cup. Whatever it is, that was shit tonight. I'm not worried about the terrible misses from all of the front 3. I'm bothered about the lack of fight from the opening minute and allowing Everton to bully us. And before a ball is kicked, you know all they want to do is win free kicks and lash them at the back post. We pretty much said "go 'head, we're not that arsed anyway". At this point I can only think this is some cunning plan from klopp to make us glad to see the back of him.

  41. Get you fucking hands in your pockets John and back the manager for once. If not we are setting him up for utter failure and it won't be his fault Many players in this squad showing they can't play the high intensity football or in some's case won't put the fucking effort in. Klopp has saved and made this club a fortune over the years and some big decisions need made. Shame that Bradley is injured as Trent needs a fucking spell on the sidelines, there is no other way to put it other than he has turned into a lazy fuck on the pitch. completely unwilling to do much dirty work if its not a game against one of the biggest teams. Strolls around like a old fashioned number 10. The inverted fullback stuff has completely fucked up the right flank for a couple of years even if we have still got results, there is no balance what so ever. We moved our best forward further wide to accommodate him. Virgil has been good for most of the season but looks to be going backwards of late, though that may be down to Konate looking the worst he has since he joined and Robertson looking like a Queen of the South player for months yet still being played

  42. When I say Nunez has no idea where to run, I mean in games like today, games we play 20-30 times a season. He knows where to run in behind but he is absolutely clueless in games like today. When you also add in he can't finish the one golden opportunity he gets in these games, he is basically useless for us.
