  1. We broke on them 5v2 or 4v2 last season and didn't even get a shot away. Multiple times. Yesterday it was different. Jota made a very unselfish run for the first goal, dragged 2 centre backs with him, opened the space and pointed to the back post where Dom and Diaz were waiting. Huge difference in the way we attack and our composure when we get to the final 3rd under Slot. I love it. We need that calmness in the big games. We will do very well against the top 6 this season, where there are spaces to play. Slots a very good manager, seriously good actually. Tactically solid, he's addressed the wide open gaps, we aren't so open when we lose the ball and are defending the 1v1 situations much better because there is cover in the right spaces. With the ball....Dare I say it, we are man city esq in how we don't pass until we draw opponents towards us, making them commit, and opening up gaps elsewhere. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this yet, but we are definitely like man city when our centre backs and keeper has the ball. We play much riskier passes into midfielders who are marked, but it draws them in to tackle. Which opens up spaces elsewhere, and our players are quick to fill those gaps. I wonder how long it will take other teams to catch on to what we are doing before we face a deep brick wall of 11 players in every game. Will be interesting to see how Slot breaks those teams down. Great performance, men against boys. Totally dismantled them. People talking about not getting out of first gear, well I don't agree. Our shape and tactics meant we made it look easy. Just like Man City often do. But none of this is possible without Klopp and the mentality he instilled in this team/club. Slot can't come in and get those players to play that way after 3 games without what Klopp did. Our players believe they can win, want to win, work hard to win. We press with aggression because of Klopp and the belief runs through the club. I spent hours after the match watching pundit/fan reactions on YouTube. Seeing them all squirm like little fucking rats brings me joy. I'll never forget how they rubbed it in for those 20 years, I'll never let us destroying them at old Trafford pass me by. What goes around comes around. They were fucking stupid and arrogant to not realise in sport nobody ever stays at the top forever. Their day was always going to come. I fucking despise them. Shit club. Shit fans. Built by a manager who fueled the hatred for Liverpool. Fuck them.

  3. That's more like it. After two disappointing results at Old Trafford last season, the Reds set the record straight with a drama free, routine 3-0 win over the old enemy as Arne Slot secured his crown as King of the Dutch Baldies. A first half Luis Diaz double and a second half strike by Mo Salah - who also bagged two assists in a sensational display - ensured a stress free afternoon for the Reds as they ruthlessly exposed mistakes from a poor Manchester United side. TLW Editor Dave Usher is joined by Ian Brown and Paul Natton to reflect on a lovely afternoon's footy as Slot's boys made it three wins from three without conceding a goal. View full article

  4. Well that was easy. How it should be really, considering that United are fucking shit and probably the easiest team rot play against in the entire league. The ease with which we dispatched them here just makes what happened last season (twice) even more shameful. This is what is supposed to happen. I actually think we did this in third gear and had we needed to go up another couple of gears we could have. We didn’t need to, because they’re shit and they’re just so fucking wide open. For 20 minutes or so they gave it all they had and the game was relatively even, but once their initial flurry fizzled out we just took control of it and they were exposed for the badly coached, disorganised mish-mash of has beens, never will be’s and Koby Mainoo. He’d never admit this, but I’d be willing to bet that Slot - much like Klopp and Lijnders last year - will have been rubbing his hands together when watching the analysis of United to prepare for this game. I know fuck all compared to Slot and other top coaches, but even I can see they’re a fucking shambles and they’re really easy to play through because there are gaps everywhere and most of their midfield and defenders can’t fucking run. The only pace they have is from their wingers, and the only threat they pose is counter attacks. Slot will have been looking at all that and he’ll have known that this game was going to be easy. We knew who to press, when to press and how to do it and we got three goals from it. That wasn’t co-incidence, you can be sure that Casemiro will have been a point of emphasis in the team meetings, and probably Mainoo too, because as talented as he is, the way United play means if you can nick it off their midfielders you’ve got a free run at the two centre backs. I think Slot kind of gave away a little bit how he knew they were shite when he said his half time team-talk consisted of having a go at Diaz for not tracking back and then pointing out a sloppy back pass Trent played that Alisson almost didn’t reach, and then basically telling the lads “don’t do any of this shit as that’s the only way they’ll get back into the game.” That’s what happened last year when Quansah played a sloppy pass at 2-0 and we saw what happened then. Slot and the players all know that United are shite and that they can’t beat us. We can only beat ourselves by missing chances and doing something daft at the back. We did neither of those things in this game and we won 3-0. Actually we did still miss chances, but we took three of them so it was fine.

  5. The look of disdain on Virgil's face at the pathetic fanny on the ground in front of him. Then he took the piss by tickling the back of his neck, which made me break my bollocks laughing.

  7. I've been off the forum for a while, so not sure if we still bless the GF with top bits of strumpet we come across, who people might not ordinarily be aware of. Anyway, on the provision we still entertain this service - I would like to present this fine young lady (she's 26 so she's not 'young' but we live in an age now where you have to be a bit careful). I watched a film called Frank and Penelope recently, which admittedly isn't great but she's the star and I would sell family members just to take her out for a Gregg's bakewell muffin. She's Casey Affleck's Mrs and he's 49 the lucky bastid.

  9. We turn over 600m per year. This season we're in now is likely to be 700m with the new CL format and new sponsors. We are allowed for player costs - so wages, amortisation, agents, plus sales of 70% of our income (actually of next year it'll be 70%, this year it's actually 80%). We can exclude women's and youth football from this. So that would allow us to spend around 500m per year. If every member of our first team squad was on 200k per week (which they're not) that would cost us £250m per year. So there is room to spend on both wages and fees above and beyond what we do today. We are not Brighton. Last year we had the 7th highest turnover in world football. We don't have to get rid of our best players to survive. That's a choice. And if we let alisson, vvd, Trent and Salah go this summer, it is a choice.

  10. Well, that was absolutely fucking beautiful. IMO, you could tell we were “on it” in the tunnel. VVD & Alisson seemed in a trance, I don’t think either blinked during the whole time the camera was on them, they were like Hannibal Lector. By contrast, I thought they looked nevevous. My views we were “on it” increased when VVD was stepping in front of Zirkzee and pushing us on. The first 15 mins were a bit basketball, after that we began to dominate and I don’t think anybody could say the goal wasn’t coming. Made up for Diaz, I’ve been strong in my views that his numbers aren’t good enough. The finish for the 2nd was really nice. I sincerely hope he keeps it up. I thought we became sloppy after the 3rd went in. Mo should have scored a 4th immediately after 3-0 and I was really pissed off with that Szoboszlai fart about, however, I’m not going to let it take the gloss off the victory. It was a performance where everybody played well. Maybe Jota was below his best, Szoboszlai was sloppy at times and although his performance was good, Trent tried a few passes that weren’t on, overall, I’m not going to criticise. Kontate & VVD were rarely troubled. Robbo gave Garnacho nothing (he’s more haunting looking than Haaland), midfield bullied the mancs, I know Gravenberch is taking the plaudits I thought Mac Allister was equally as effective, we were a threat the majority of times we went forward. Beautiful, beautiful stuff. Exactly what we should have done last season. As for them, if 7-Hag, Fernandes & Neville etc think it was a close game and Salah / us being clinical was the only difference between the sides, then I sincerely hope this level of delusion continues because we were superior to them in every aspect of our play. Carra made a great point about Rodgers replacing his back room staff and nothing changed and was sacked. He’s completely right, Slot has shown more in 3 games than 7-Hag has shown in 2 seasons. You could tell Zirkzee wasn’t up for the pace or physicality of the game, he was like a rabbit in the headlights. Casemiro must have had 15 pints on Saturday and then 3rd helpings of a Sunday dinner before kick off. Despite losing weight, he still looked like Charlie Adam…and I mean Charlie Adam now. What a fat, slow, clearly past it, old man. I could laugh at them all day, I’d rather focus on all the good stuff we did. Onwards and upwards. 2 winnable home games up next, let’s keep it going.

  18. Loads putting that Mazraoui ahead of Trent, Dalot ahead of Robbo. Fernandez is the one though, because he has moments of excellence they think he is amazing, but he is a megasuperultra shithouse. What a cunt of a player he is. He would probably be the first one out of the door if I was planning a revival of United. It’s the attitude, the hiding, the snide shithousing. Then there’s Onana (what’s his name?), who is utterly fucking shit. He makes Mignolet look like a genius. His positioning is absolutely hilarious. Watching ‘the biggest club in the world’ have such a bunch of useless bastards is a genuine source of joy.

  20. Their total lack of pattern and tactics astounds me. They're set up as a club the way a kid would set up their fantasy league - i,e it doesn't matter how you play or where you're positioned as long as you've got Maradona up front. "Buy player - he'll fix our problems" "Unearth young player - he'll fix our problems" If Ten Hag was a Roman general the Legion would come at you in single file and be led by the bloke with the biggest sword.

  22. My all-time favourite bit of management honesty was Gordon Strachan's post-match interview after his Southampton team had just been twatted. "In which areas do you think Arsenal were better than you today?" "That big green area out there."

  23. That vile cunt had football in his pocket for 2 decades. I was watching racing a few months ago, Ferguson and his consortium had 2 winners on the day, who was there celebrating with him but no part of the ownership, Allardyce. That got me thinking about 2 incidents that he got 2 managers to do on his behalf. The first one involves Allardyce and when he made the pathetic claim of Benitez saying the game was over against Blackburn and the other with Pulis taking back 2 players on loan at Preston after his son was sacked. You can go even deeper with the media and how he got them to round on Benitez after he correctly called him and his influence out. I hated Mourinho but he was the beginning of the end for Ferguson because he had balls of steel and was media savvy.

  24. If Mo is able to move into central midfield when his pace is gone and almost never give the ball away then he'd get my vote. Both brilliant but Barnes versatility was incredible.

  25. Mo is so good, but, JCB was a phenomenon, I’ve said it before, built like a prop forward but with the grace and balance of a ballet dancer, would have been kicked to fuck if the defenders could’ve got near enough or weren’t bouncing off him.

  32. It's not a great song. But it's not an offensive song either. It's just nothing. And the song isn't THE trigger. It's not like they only sing that shite when we sing that one song. As I said before, they sing it because that's who they are. It's a fucking distraction to somehow blame ourselves for their behaviour. Exactly. I wish they didn't sing what they sing, but we can't control their behaviour.

  43. Never ceases to amaze me that. We spoke about that on the pod and really there isn't one who gets in. Neutrals would probably go with Fernandes over Szoboslai and some might try to shoehorn Mainoo in, but those are the only two you could even make any sort of remotely serious case for. Loads of them loons would have the Butcher on Lilliput in there ahead of Virgil and Garnacho over Mo. Utterly deluded, but when you hear the shite Neville and Ferdinand come out it's no wonder their fans are like that. Scholes knows though. He's the only former United player worth listening to when it comes to analysing them. He knows they're shite and doesn't sugar coat it.
