  7. As part of the MA Film course at Liverpool John Moores University Screen School, we run a short film festival that is accessible online. Last year's students hosted a live event to present awards to the filmmakers, but this year we are intending to have five, one for each of the four strands that films are submitted in (Animation, Documentary, Experimental, and Fiction), along with an awards event. We've had over 2,000 submissions from all over the world to view, rate, and winnow down to the 38 that will be presented in the festival. We're just starting up a social media campaign to raise awareness for the festival, and you can find out more about it at: Home - LJMU MA Short Film Festival

  8. I don't think it's that extreme. We lose the ball, we press to get it back and they're a team who try and move the ball quickly. We can commit fouls easy in this phase . And if they play through us, when they get into certain parts of the pitch, some of their players know their job is to buy a foul and they're good at it. On the other hand, when we have the ball, they're happy to drop and let us pass and pass again, providing we don't push into dangerous areas. Add that to they're the home team, then is it that crazy? There'll always be outliers and clearly today is one, but you can see how we commit many more fouls per minute than they do. I thought the ref got 3 big decisions wrong today, there were 3 pens in there for me (2 for us and one for them). Maybe some of that is on VAR, especially the first one. But it was a case of he was giving nothing. Around the rest of the pitch, I didn't think there was anything unexpected about his performance.

  16. Yep, today Mac and Endo were taking the kind of fouls in transition folks have been screaming about City doing for years. Good. Those two probably had half our total between them.

  17. I particularly liked the bit where Guardiola starting pointing to the crowd when they equalised as if they had some sort of part in it and then half of them walked out 2 mins later with about 10 mins to play. Fucking fake bullshitting cunt.

  22. I didn't even know that was still a thing. To be honest, I'm fairly happy as I am. A woman would only wteck my equilibrium. I'll never have to hear, 'Are you just going to sit about on the couch all day?' or "Can you turn that weird music off?' ever again.

  25. I’d take a draw. Any dropped points from the cheats is a bonus. The longer City go without scoring the more they’ll push up and that could actually be dangerous for them as Chelsea’s best opportunities have been on the counter. I think City are a bit lucky that Chelsea have only scored once. City could have scored another with a better final ball, finish or touch when going through on goal. Their game plan has been spot on.

  26. I wonder if people on The City Way are moaning that this Chelsea team didn’t turn up at Anfield, a few weeks ago, and everyone always plays better against them.

  27. Kalvin Phillips. Hahahah. Leeds legend with 234 appearances. Takes the Abu Dhabi dollar, can't get a game. 4 appearances for West Ham. Since he went there they've scored once, conceded 11, and he got sent off today.

  37. Interesting. I thought Gomez would start. Maybe a shift back to the attacking full backs as well. Normally Oliver wouldn't bother me as ref but he seems to have turned into the rest of the mob. Last thing I need to see is loads of cheap free kicks for them all game.

  39. It's a big tactical defeat and it shows current balance of power. It's also very bad for morale since pessimism is currently prevalent. Strategically it should not be disastrous, since Avdivka was turned into a salient important for offensive towards Donetsk, for which Ukraine does not have the strength at the moment. Also, it will depend on how orderly they withdrew and what happens next, have they prepared good defensive positions behind it or not. Some news from Avdivka about poor fortifications behind the first line do not bode well though. In the past, such defeats triggered more pull back until the lines are stabilized.

  40. Didnt take long for the Dutch to call him out. Interesting read actually, as it’s exactly the same things many on here has been pointing out for years. (Put it through Google translate) https://voetbalflitsen.nl/nieuws/tfrbt5/opnieuw-kritiek-op-henderson-een-middelmatige-speler-meer-is-het-niet Willem van Hanegem has spoken out about Jordan Henderson's services for Ajax so far. The Englishman made his debut for the Amsterdam team against PSV (1-1), but did not stand out very much at De Kromme, he says in the Willem & Wessel Podcast. - Advertisement - "Should I, like everyone else on television, say that he is so good before I have seen him play?" Van Hanegem wonders. "He's just a very mediocre player. That's all it is. What he showed against PSV wasn't that special, was it?" De Kromme hereby agrees with Valentijn Driessen, who was previously also critical of the veteran's actions. Driessen was extremely critical of the midfielder. "Yes, he ran his mouth, played the traffic policeman and clapped his hands, but for what or who actually? He showed no initiative on the ball, played to the right color, but more backward than forward and once over the halfway line the new number 6 did not see any options ahead. And that in the Eredivisie, although against PSV, but not at the level of the Premier League. What poverty.
