My boy William is on his way out. 18 years old he’s been my buddy for 17 of them, and it’s hitting to see the boy coming to his end. He’s had about 4 trips to the vets over the last 2 years that we’ve thought could’ve been his last but he’s come back strong from all of them. Friday we made the trip pretty sure it would be his last, but he’s still just about with us. The vet was surprised to see he had a temperature that could mean a virus underlying it all, so he’s got the weekend to see if the antibiotic shot does the trick. he’s not in pain or suffering, so he deserves this chance. First photo was over a decade ago, the second was just last Monday. What a boy.

I hear you, and i think a few of us have some concerns (I'm still blaming NV) But the more i think about this transfer i see why we are doing it. I went back and had a look at our results from the end of December. 14 games were decided by 1 goal or no goals. We either lost 1-0, drew 0-0 or won 1-0. I think Klopp fees like we don't score consistently enough. The games were all tight/cagey affairs and at times we were just getting over the line. That's only going to continue next year, especially from February onwards (teams are fighting for their lives) and a point against Liverpool is now a fantastic result. We can't keep throwing the same profile of attacker on the pitch with teams just sitting back and hoping Plan A works out in the end. Man, many of those games were nail biters. Maybe after 7 years Klopp is thinking it's time for a curve ball. Also, Nunez is only 2cm taller than Lewandowski, so Klopp has worked with this profile of attacker before and his team still played attacking fluid football. He will turn Nunez into what he wants and is best for the team, he's done it with many other players at Liverpool already. Anyway, lets be honest, who is Nunez up against? Diaz/laporte - quality, he'll have a tough game against them two Thiago Silva - 45 years old Harry Maguire - probably losing sleep already Ben White - Shite Eric Dier - fridge Kurt Zouma - pussy Nunez will absolutely beast most of those lot and the rest. He's too quick and strong for most of them. I think he'll need some refining and polishing but he'll score lots of goals for us and the results at the end of last season suggest we need more goals. I think he'll do really well for us.

Give them what they want in Ukraine now, tomorrow they will ask for more, there and in Moldova, in Finland. They may decide Georgia is in the way after all. If opposition in Belarus gets rid of Lukashenko, they will invade Belarus, just like their paratroopers moved in to prop up Kazakhstan government during recent riots. They are building or rebuilding an empire and the West thinks it can get a piece of paper to wave about, bearing Putin's signature. Give Ukraine weapons. Now. Before it's too late.

The problem with such claptrap is that ignores many unpleasant facts and offers no suggestions how does Ukraine win the war outside of battlefield, which is all motivated by the increasing desire in the West to cut costs by appeasing now an almost outright Fascist regime in Russia. All "diplomatic" solutions Ukraine was forced into previously have lead to the loss of territory and culminated in an outright Russian aggression. Why do people think this will not continue if a new "diplomatic" solution is agreed? And what would that solution be? Allow Russia to annex or de facto annex Ukrainian territory it has managed to occupy in the past 3 and a half months, by killing tens of thousands of people Putin's regime clearly does not care about (nor does he care about his own people, as long as most of the blood is spilt by underclasses from "ethnic" Republics. And what then? Russia will not invade again to finish the job? Even if they don't want to destroy Ukraine as a state, which they absolutely do, they would want to take Odesa, make a land corridor to Transdnistria, they would probably want the area around Kharkiv, maybe even Kharkiv itself. And how would this long term Ukraine victory be achieved, this fantasy South Korea which Russia would in no way try to invade again, through building of a stable prosperous democracy on the basis of a lost war, infrastructure distraction? The West would rush to help financially this rump Ukraine, right? The same West which is now apparently setting the stage for pressing them into admitting defeat because the war cost too much? This is just so stupid and disingenuous. Give them weapons, help them defend themselves. Hawks in Washington? Because some still want to arm Ukraine so it can stand up to Russia now and have a strong army as a deterrent in the future. Of course it would be better for Ukraine if it wouldn't have to fight a long war which would make the country more corrupt and politically centralized and less democratic. But they are not fighting this war because they want to. They were invaded. They will be invaded again if they don't win and build an army or end up with security guarantees as members of a military alliance. And even these guarantees Why do people think Russia invaded in the first place? It is just so infuriating. Such injustice. Such stupidity. It is what Russia wants, to corrupt, confuse and ultimately fuck West up, destroy security set-up and liberal democracy, or what is left of it, so they can do whatever they want where ever they want and whenever they want. And you will defend it by giving Russia (another) military victory to feed this Fascist regime. Because then they will stop doing it.

I'm utterly heart broken today. My best buddy Furnando died in my arms after a heart attack. He had been under the weather of late, but wasn't expecting that. It's devastating. He was such a big part of my life the last six years since we brought him to Vancouver from Mexico. Slept with my every day, on my lap every day, napped with me every day. Such a beautiful, gentle cat. Now he's gone. Absolute shit.
