  1. Lots to get through this week so let’s start with our neighbours, who are not a happy bunch after a spanking at Villa followed by a League Cup exit at QPR. Asmir Begovic was in goal for the Blues as Pickford is injured. What happened to the Swedish fella Carlo Magnifico brought in to keep Prickford on his toes? Has he fucked off too like Carlo and “Hamez”? Some Blues were crying about an injury crisis but from what I could see they were only missing Pickford (which is a good thing) as well as Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin. It’s not like they had to start a load of kids, the bad cryarses. Matty Cash put Villa in front with a brilliant goal to cap off a terrific move (questionable keeping though). Luca ‘better than Robbo’ Digne headed into his own net to make it 2-0 and Bailey added a third after a quality ball by Ings put him clear. Again, what the fuck was Begovic doing there though? The opposite of making himself big is what he was doing, the shrinking tit. Everton had actually been unbeaten in their first four games but there was a thread on Grand Old Team entitled “Has Benitez taken us as far as he can?”. That was posted BEFORE they got spanked by Villa! The funny thing is, the answer to that is probably ‘yes’ because they were in the top four before this game and are unlikely to ever be scaling those heights again. It’s easy to criticise Everton fans for their stance on Rafa, sorry, Rafael, but who the fuck are we to be telling them how they should feel about their manager? Because he is their manager. Some Reds seem to still see him as our manager and are protective of him, but he isn’t our manager. He’s the Everton manager and loads of them hate him. And you know what, they’re entitled to. He was our manager, he took the piss out of them, he made us European Champions which gave us the opportunity to rub their noses in it. They hated him. They’ve hated him for years and then out of nowhere the people that run their club went “here you go, we don’t care what you think. He’s your new manager, get behind him”. Some of them have, others just can’t find it within themselves to do it and I respect that. I fucking despise Guardiola and if he became our manager after Klopp I’d struggle to overcome that. I’d try, but it wouldn’t take much for me to completely turn on him and want him gone. So after this week the honeymoon period, if there even was one, is well and truly over and you only have to look at some of the posts on Grand Old Team to see Rafa, sorry, Rafael, is on a sticky wicket over there. Meanwhile, Norwich still have no points after getting dicked at home by Watford. Prior to this game you can justify them having no points as they’re fixture list has been brutal. Farke even said that they’re only three points down on the target they had set themselves at this stage, which tells you he expected to lose every game and then beat Watford. They didn’t beat Watford though because they’re shite. Emanuel Dennis headed the opener when he nipped in front of Ozan Kabak, but Pukki equalised when he ran in behind and finished well. Sadio's boy Sarr should have restored Watford’s lead after a brilliant though ball by Danny Rose (remember him?) had sent him clear. Tim Krul made the save but Sarr should have buried that. I’m not convinced by him but I’m not not convinced either, if that makes sense. He might actually be really good, I’m just not sure yet. He looked great in the second half and put Watford ahead with a neat finish at the near post. Then he put in a Trent-like ball from the right that should have been converted, before he wrapped up the win with a composed finish from a rebound. He's winning me over but as I say I'm not sold on him just yet. That third goal initially looked like it wouldn’t count as the lino had flagged against Josh King, but VAR showed it was onside and the goal stood. That’s one where it looked clearly off from the lino’s perspective as King was leaning forward and the defender was leaning the opposite way. It was the defender’s foot that played him on so people will point to that as VAR working well. My argument to counter that would be that it’s the kind of offside decision I could live with. I still hate VAR and always will. Elsewhere, Brentford’s great start continued as they won at Wolves. They were awarded a penalty when a Wolves defender was wresting with Ivan Toney from a corner. Absolutely 100% the right decision but it’s quite rare that they are given and the Wolves player probably thought it’d be ok to do it. Hopefully refs start calling this more often because Virgil is held on pretty much every corner we get. Toney stepped up and buried the pen and then had a second ruled out for handball. Really harsh, his arm is pinned to his side and the ball bounced up at him from close range. He then adjusted himself and scored with a back heel and I reckon that should have stood. Traore almost broke the crossbar with a thunderous effort but then Toney broke away down the end and crossed for Mbuemo to tap in. Baptiste was then sent off for picking up a yellow card. Brentford were about to sub him too so the manager won’t have been best pleased. Mind you, he seems like the most laid back man in the world and I can’t see him getting angry about anything. Proper 60s hippie vibe about him. Jiminez should have bagged his first goal since his comeback when he met Traore’s brilliant cross but couldn’t direct it goalwards. I want to see him scoring again but it’s quite conceivable he’s never going to be the same after what we went through. Heading is such a big part of his game but how could he ever be the same? He took off the protective head gear after that miss, but that’s not ideal is it? Toney is fucking ace and has pretty much assured himself of ‘my boy’ status already but I’m not going to rubber stamp it until after the week. Just a couple of i’s need dotting and a t or two needs crossing, but he’s essentially my boy now as he’s boss. Arsenal won at Burnley in a result that nobody saw coming. This is the kind of game you’d expect Arsenal to wave the white flag in, but they stood up to the physical challenge and emerged victorious thanks to a solitary goal by Odegaard, who curled in a nice free kick from 20 yards. Burnley were shite but they were briefly awarded a penalty when Anthony Taylor adjudged Ramsdale to have brought down Vydra. The keeper clearly played the ball and it didn’t need a replay to see it. Well, it wouldn’t have needed a replay if it had been anyone other than the hapless Taylor. He got it right in the end though, even if Dyche predictably didn't agree. If Burnley can’t beat a soft touch like Arsenal then I think they’re in trouble. Their fans were obviously irritated by that and decided to show the players how it’s done by roughing up the Arsenal fans at full time. That didn’t work either as the Arsenal fans gave as good as they got. If Burnley can’t win the physical battle they don’t really have anything else going for them really. That goes for players and fans. City were held 0-0 at home by Southampton just days after Guardiola complained that not enough fans were coming to watch them despite them offering great entertainment. Sod’s law that. This is the kind of game they’d usually win 5-0 but when you run your mouth like that it can often bite you in the arse. They were shite and didn’t have a shot on target until stoppage time. This is because, like I keep saying, they’re good but not great. The hype over City doesn’t match who they are. When they win they’ll often win by a cricket score, but they won’t win every week the way they did three years ago. They were lucky they didn’t lose this as they needed a VAR review to overturn a penalty and red card for Walker. Firstly, it was defo not a red card. Secondly, I don’t think it’s a penalty either, because the striker is already going down needlessly. That’s really subjective though and half the time that will be given. Martin Atkinson the VAR suggested Jon Moss have another look though, which he did and he overturned his decision. I’m fine with that, it’s what VAR should be used for and I’m happy for Moss to have the opportunity to review it to make sure he’s happy with his decision. What VAR giveth it also taketh away. City thought they’d won the game in stoppage time through Sterling but the lino flagged and VAR showed it was the right call. If Sterling had left it to Foden the goal would have stood, which just makes it all the more funny. Fuck Man City. Leeds and Newcastle played out a highly entertaining 1-1 draw at St James' Park. Raphinha put Leeds in front with a cross that was cleverly dummied by Rodrigo to leave the keeper flatfooted. Quality by the striker that. Newcastle should have levelled when the turbo charged Saint-Maximin blew by the full back down the right and cut it back, but useless lower league journeyman Jo Elinton couldn’t finish. Saint-Maximin took matters into his own hands next time to dance around four challenges in the box and fire in the equaliser. He’s one of my favourite players to watch as he’s exciting as fuck. He almost won it late on but his shot was too close to the keeper. The Geordie crowd are revolting. They’re also in revolt. Kicking off about Ashley and Bruce like they’ve got some divine right to be a top six team is one thing, but them desperately wanting to suck Saudi cock and crying about why they’re not being allowed to is something else. They’re the fucking worst aren’t they? Imagine them if they had owners like City. It doesn’t bear thinking about. As much as I despise City these days, the fans are way down the list of reasons why. They’re not bad all things considered. Imagine Newcastle or Everton in that situation. Fucking hell, they'd be insufferable. Onto Sunday now and Brighton somehow beat Leicester despite getting fucking mullered for the entire second half. Big assist to the officials on this one though, who thoroughly shafted Brendan's boys. Maupay scored from the spot after Vestergaard had been penalised for handling. The big defender was clearly being fouled and that’s why his arm was in an unnatural position, but VAR upheld the decision and Brighton went ahead. Baffling how they missed that. Danny Welcrap headed in a second but Vardy pulled one back with a close range finish from a nice move. Leicester were pushing hard for an equaliser and thought they had it when Lookman fired home, but Barnes was stood in front of the keeper in an offside position. Then Ndidi scored and that too was disallowed because Barnes was offside in front of the keeper. Hilarious! Can't stand that diving little fuck. That second one should have counted though really, that was a fucking terrible call. The wheels have come off Spurs these last couple of weeks. Getting spanked at Palace and following it up by being utterly humiliated at home by Chelsea. Tuchel’s side were so superior to Spurs it was embarrassing, especially in the second half. Thiago Silva headed the opener, Kante’s deflected effort doubled their lead and Rudiger wrapped it up late on. They had at least five other great chances too though and Alonso could have had a second half hat-trick just on his own. He is no longer taking the knee because he feels the gesture “is losing strength”. Instead he’ll stand and point to the anti-racism badge on his sleeve. Yeah because that’s a much stronger gesture. Not really sure it's his place to be deciding what is and isn't an effective gesture like, but whatever. Spurs were awful though, they shit all over the memory of Jimmy Greaves by not giving him a fitting send off. Although I suppose going the full Spurs is a fitting tribute to Greavesie as he’d seen that from them his entire life. RIP though, I liked him a lot. Harry Kane played mostly on the left wing. What’s going on there? Is Nuno punishing him or is he just trying to be too clever? No league goals for him so far this season but he did score in the League Cup win at Wolves in midweek. Maybe when he eventually accepts his fate and realises he’s stuck at Spurs for the rest of his life he’ll start to look something like his old self. Finally, the Mancs won at West Ham but they owe their former manager a big thank you. This should have been a draw before ‘The Chosen One’ intervened. What a fucking plonker. First time he's contributed to a positive United result since he was Everton manager. I don’t watch United games but for some reason I stuck the closing stages of this one on just to see what happened. Almost immediately Lingard scored, which served me right. I thought United should have been awarded a penalty when Ronaldo went down in the box. Sure, he played for it, but those are given almost every time. A couple of minutes later it was a pen at the other end when Shaw handled. That was going to be the last kick of the game, but Moyes decides to send Mark Noble on to take it. You just don’t fucking do that. It puts way too much pressure on the taker who isn’t warmed up and is expected to just immediately switch on and be able to convert a high pressure kick. You just don’t fucking do it, but that soft cunt sent Noble on and his kick was predictably saved. That’s why you’re a loser Moyes, and always fucking will be. I’m fuming about that as its two points United shouldn’t have. I’m sick of them getting results despite clearly not being that good. You only have to see them in Europe to see their true level, but they keep spawning these results away from home in the league because of slapdicks like Moyes.

  2. Being undefeated has nothing to do with FSG,other than Klopp continuing to do his job brilliantly. The argument regarding squad depth will show itself(or hopefully not) around christmas or new year. I happen to think it's ok but now is not yet the time to quote an abundance or lack of.

  3. I think it's a form of brainwashing, I honestly do. They've got most of the media sewn up, unlike in the States where the opposite is probably true for their 'Conservatives'. It's not just the press but the programming too. Daytime TV mostly revolves around property shows, second home shows etc, interlaced with stuff about bailiffs for the 'scumbags'. Everyone's got their head up their arse chasing an ideal that's been outlined to them day after day. New build house, car each, job title with 'executive' in the title, kids that sing, dance and do karate - whether they want to or not, and a genetically designed dog. It goes beyond being told who to vote for, it's reinforcement of values, the notion that if you've got something, anything, worth having, it's because you're talented and hard working and you therefore now have a god given right to pontificate. If someone doesn't have these things, it's because they don't work and aren't talented. The 'red wall' thing was made into a big deal at the last election, but it's been coming for years. The most hateful, right wing cunts I've ever met in my life have been 'working class' or 'aspiring middle class'. We've been spiritually re-engineered over the course of decades into being walking, talking products who view their kids as products and their public image as a product.

  8. There's some truth in that, but maybe it's because those demographics tend to be more educated and exposed to different ideas (at university for example). Murdoch in particular seems to have a huge amount of influence on the attitudes of the working class whererver he has a foothold, be it here, the States or Australia. New Zealand and Canada, where he doesn't, seem on the surface at least to be more liberal. I think it's a powerful weapon to be able to slither your way into the ear and eye of someone with a simple message and keep repeating it, again and again. In all those countries the working class right winger seems to have values that tie into patriotism, monarchy (here at least), the military, not liking foreigners and the concept of 'the enemy within', lefties and the underserving poor. Said it before, but the stormtroopers of Thatcherism were white van men, copy of the S*n on his dashboard and shit between his ears.

  11. I find a lot of the discussion on this thread interesting because its basically an outgrowth of the ridiculous situation that City and Chelsea have created in the league. Their spending not only has warped the market, but also acts as a colossal competitive advantage that means that virtually every single decision other teams need to make regarding transfers and contract renewals needs to be almost 100% correct all of the time, for any given team to be able to compete. Looking through Liverpool's current squad the following could be classed as errors from significant to minor Buying Naby Keita As mentioned in the other thread the total outlay of circa £90 million for a player who brings very little to the party hasn't been great. When he was bought at the time though he was viewed as one of the most exciting young players in Europe and no doubt Liverpool had a good understanding of how the player would integrate into the side/settle in from their contacts in Germany. Perhaps this shows that we shouldn't spend big on players who have suffered recent significant injuries, but I'm not sure his drop off in form/injury record/difficulty in integrating could have been foreseen. Not extending Gini Winjaldum's contract circa 2018/19 to run for another year/couple of years after the summer of 2021 This probably could have been done at the time, but Gini's form in away games was often being criticised and there was a lot of talk emanating from the clubs outriders in the media about an expected physical drop off. So I'm assuming there was some rationale for holding off doing this? Perhaps his agent was looking for a giant paypay? It didn't particularly seem like he wanted to leave last year. Extending Divock Origi's contract post the 2019 champions league final It's understandable why this occurred, firstly Divock had contributed some extremely important goals to the team in that season and second was the notion of protecting his value. I think people would have been fairly annoyed had he been sold for a reduced amount later on year or so down the line. However Divock's contract seems to be a major stumbling block for the club in being able to afford another attacker who will contribute more effectively (though as with every transfer there is a degree of risk with this). The lad is still committed so you can't fault him for his endeavor and effort, part of his issue stems from being played out of position. Not buying a forward aged between 21/24 in the 2021 summer window This ties into the Divock situation, but from a squad management perspective we should have tried to bring in another lad in this age category to get bedded in and integrated with the team. Supposedly financially Liverpool don't have the capacity to do this due to the impact of Covid and being unable to shift players on the fringes of the first team squad (Origi and Minamino), I think this may catch-up with us though given the age of the front 3, it puts a lot more pressure on their replacements in the future to hit the ground running rather than being eased in. This could be applied to the midfield as well but the aim is clearly to get Elliott to do this over the medium term, hopefully the lad recovers well from his injury. Buying Loris Karius Again I'm not sure if you can criticise the club too much on this he was brought in for a relatively small transfer fee and played to a decent level at first and was considered one of the best goalkeepers in Germany when we bought him. The calamities in the Champions League final basically ended his career at Liverpool with manager losing trust. The length of contract could be questioned but 5 years is fairly standard when signing promising young players. It has also been difficult to shift him mainly because other clubs can see he is mentally burnt out. Extending Adrian's contract in the summer I'm assuming this was done for squad harmony reasons and that they thought they would be able to get Karius off the books quicker (a bit daft that we are currently paying for 4 first team goalkeepers), however it did eat up one of our foreign player slots which was posited as one for the reasons why we couldn't make any move in the summer. I would assume his wages aren't astronomical from a football industry point of view, but we could have gotten a fairly competent professional home-grown qualifying goalkeeper with reasonable distribution you would have thought, though the fact I can't pull one out of my brain straight away suggests that is easier said than done. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's contract The initial fee for Chamberlain was a high, but he has scored some important goals for Liverpool and has had a terrible injury to overcome. I think the question here is whether he will be able to regain some form during this season, we will certainly need him to try and stay fit and improve. If we are going to extend his contract, it does make me wonder though why we offered a player with a long term injury record a 5 year deal when he signed, perhaps this is something the club need to look at in general. Not securing Mo Salah's contract yet Have put this quite low down the list as I would assume this is ongoing and they have basically had to sort out everyone else's contract before getting Mo's done due to the expected wage inflation it would cause. You would hope they would be able to get his and Mane's contract sorted within this year. Buying Taki Minamino I think with Taki much like the Karius deal he was seen as a fairly cheap player who could be brought in and be effective for us. The fact he had a great game against us for Salzburg at Anfield helped, a significant chunk of the fanbase were on board with buying him despite his diminutive frame (by premier league standards). I think there was a view to perhaps flipping him which got kyboshed with the advent of Covid and reduction of cash in the game for the smaller and medium sized clubs. Buying Ben Davies Really strange transfer this, again I think an attempt at flipping? Will see how he gets on over the next while but can't help, but think it's been unnecessary expenditure. Extending Sheji Ojo's contract I think this was done to protect his value, but I'm not sure if it has really done the player himself any favours Over-reliance on Alexander Arnold at Right fullback To be fair with this he is one of the best players in the world in his position and finding someone who is happy to sit on the bench isn't easy. Also Klopp really values opportunities for the youth team to come through and fullback seems to be an easier position in which this transition can be done. Milner and Gomez can cover if absolutely required. In the grand scheme of things this really doesn't feel like that long a list for a sport in which squad management is notoriously difficult to get right. The fact we have to get nearly everything correct all of the time to even have a chance of winning the league is patently ridiculous. A lot of this is reliant on Klopp staying in post though. Very few of the above are outright terrible and most have not come off due to a combination of factors. As a club we seem to have moved on from some of the patently dreadful transfers/contract decisions made either under Hicks and Gillet or during FSG's early years. However obviously this is contemporaneous list and FSG made a huge number of mistakes last year which understandably colours people's view a selection of which: The super league push The center back situation in the summer The lack of activity in recruiting a center back last year in the run up to the January window Attempt to furlough/lay off staff

  14. I know loads slate the lad but I feel for him or indeed any pro whose career crashes so publically. Said to one of my mates when talking about Alli after the Palace game that I always thought Jurgen promoted Karius to number 1 far too early especially when Mignolet was in form (and yes, I know it was only a matter of time before he dropped a bollock as well). Karius tended to look overawed by the occasion of playing for Liverpool and I can point to a number of games when he cost us. But he's remembered most for his Champions League final performance. People go on about Ramos literally throwing Mo out of that game and yet generally ignore the forearm smash he did on Karius. That clearly affected him and no one is convincing me he's rolling a ball onto Benzema's toe if he's not concussed. He had no chance with Bale's worldie overhead kick and yes, the one that went through his hand just compounded the situation. People then zoomed in on some social media posts and pictures as is their want. Karius needs to move on. Whether he ever rebuilds his career is open to debate and certainly his last couple of managers dont really seem to have done much to rebuild his confidence.

  17. And so on to our latest meeting with a Premier League debutant. Brentford had been knocking on the door for promotion for a couple of years, with a mobile and prolific front three that was probably the most highly effective unit outside the top flight. It even had its own name - BMW. Benrahma, Mbuemo and Watkins. Mbuemo is still there but Brentford sold the other two at the beginning of last season for about £50m combined. They added the very effective Ivan Toney and finally earned their place in the top tier. They've even spent money on a brand new stadium, moving away from their very lower-league-old-school Griffin Park - a stadium best known for having a pub at every corner of the ground, and for being right below the Heathrow flightpath. The new place is just a short distance away. Balls. Energy. Experience. Skill. Know-how. Nerve. Effervescence. Endeavour. Shooting boots. I don't ask for much. Brentford are far from regular opponents for Liverpool down the years. We last met them in a couple of cup ties in the 80s but for league action, you have to go way way back to before the Second World War to find our last league win at Griffin Park. It was March 1938, and the reds beat their London opponents 3-1 thanks to goals from pre-war goal machine Jack Balmer, Alf Hanson and debutant Jimmy McInnes. Somebody named Hopkins replied for The Bees. I can't find Youtube footage (I was hoping for an old Pathe news reel narrated by Mr. Cholmondley-Warner, but no such luck). Not even a photo from a newspaper cutting. It was a top flight game though, and not because it was near the old London Airport. The top film that mid-March 1938 week was the musical western The Girl of the Golden West, directed by Robert Z. Leonard (best known for the Oscar Best Picture-winning The Great Ziegfeld two years earlier) and starring Jeanette MacDonald (who?) and Nelson Eddy (again, who?). The plot is described as "A frontier woman falls in love with an outlaw." What else can I say? Stringy is the probably only one who paid tuppence to watch it at his local fleapit. Interestingly, the last match thread featured a film about the final frontier, and this one features a film about what many people see as the first frontier. Anyway, there is a trailer of sorts on Youtube. Another early-evening Saturday fixture, against a team that have generally looked bang up for it this season. Sort of like Sheffield United two years ago. They even have the same kit. We basically know what Thomas Frank's side are going to try and do. Be physical and hope the ref is favourable. They will look to give it a go in front of their fans, just like they did in their first game against Arsenal. The thing is, we are not Arsenal (thank fuck for that, fam!). We just need to ignore all that and do what we know our players can do. Get it, get the goals and get out with the 3 points. As ever, be that single-minded about it. Oh, and more precise with our finishing of course.

  19. Ah mate, it's horrible when you get news like this especially when it involves someone close, who you clearly love and respect. I know you'll worry yourselves sick, but my advice is wait for the results of the tests, it's possible that it's treatable. Having a bit of a weep in these situations is very normal and shows your compassion and humanity. I know it's difficult, I've been there, but positivity is your friend and will help you support your wife and family. Whatever it is has been spotted, so hopefully treatment can start soon for the best possible outcome. Kindest thoughts to you all.

  23. Boxing - The Loneliest Sport 'I went to New York to win the championship. I wouldn't have gone if I did not think I could win. I was confident. But Ali beat me at my own game. He did the same thing to Liston. Williams, another big puncher, Ali knocked him out in short order. Terrell, the great jabber, what happened to him? He got outjabbed. And Patterson, the guy with superspeed hands, couldn't match Ali and just stood around and got punched to pieces. The right hands Ali hit me with just had no business landing—but they did. They came from nowhere. Many times he was in the wrong position but he hit me anyway. Blatt! and the punch connected. I've never seen anyone who could do that. The knockdown punch was so fast that I never saw it. He has lots of snap, and when the punches land they dizzy your head; they fuzz up your mind. The first time I went down, I wasn't hurt, but I didn't know what had happened. Suddenly I became aware of the noise and then I saw Ali standing over me, and I figured I was down. So I wheeled around to look at my corner, to find out the count. I kept thinking, was that a right hand he hit me with? So what did he do but hit me with the same punch again in the seventh round and knock me out. I can't believe it, but that's what he did. He's smart. The trickiest fighter I've seen. He's had 29 fights and acts like he's had a hundred. He could write the book on boxing, and anyone that fights him should be made to read it first. I did things to Ali that have never been done before. He missed more punches and landed fewer than with all of those other guys he's been in with. I also cut the ring on him, reduced it so consistently that he chose to stand and fight. He's a safety-first fighter, no matter how foolish he looks. And I made him fight. That could have been my worst mistake, making him fight. I hurt him to the body, but he's tough. You can tell from the way he's put together that he's got pride. The man's a real fighter. Look at the way he acts out of the ring and you can see that. In the ring the guy doesn't show when he's been hurt. Not even the smallest sign, the way most fighters do. He beat me good, but he didn't beat me bad. There's just no way to train yourself for what he does: the moves, the speed, the punches and the way he changes style every time you think you got him figured. Wendell Newton, my sparring partner, jumped around and he was awkward, but he wasn't Ali. Ali is something else. I fought middleweights, even smaller men and they weren't as fast. This guy has a style all of his own. It's far ahead of any fighter's around today, so how could those oldtime fighters, you know, Dempsey, Tunney or any of them keep up? Louis wouldn't have a chance—he was too slow. Marciano couldn't get to him, and he would never get away from Ali's jab. The only one who would have a good chance was Ezzard Charles, a real fast heavyweight who was smart and was perhaps the best combination puncher of them all.' - Zora Folley

  27. I need to take a break from monitoring any news for a while. That clip of him on channel 4 made me want to kick the fuck out of my monitor. I fucking despise this talentless, thick as fuck moron.

  28. Paul Scully MP on telly being grave about the problem of having to put an extra 1p on income tax in order to pay for the permanent increase in Universal Credit. A penny. Sign me up for a fiver, let's do better, let's be better. Fuck it, have twenty quid more off me. Let's privatise electric and let's make e-transport happen.

  29. That's all fair. Phil's voice is still there, but of course a shadow of what he had previously. For me it was a great concert. Of course he can't physically do his dancing, rhythmic tambourine routine, less still play the drums. He can barely walk. Nevertheless, with the band including Daryll Stuermer, a couple of necessary backing singers, his boy Nick on drums, and the ubiquitous and awesome lighting show, it was a fitting curtain-call for Genesis. I'm so pleased I went.

  30. You won't take the vaccine at a point where millions of people have died from a virus and it's been shown to work. In what world would you have taken a government prescribed supplement or upped your intake of specific vegetables and not been on here saying it's part of a social conditioning program run by Big Vitamin or the Greengrocers Lobby. Vaccines have been proven to work throughout the last century, take your vaccine kids.

  33. This is quite cool. I flew up to a tiny little grass strip yesterday. I don't know whether any of you are aware, but the vast majority of General Aviation (i.e. Private) flying is navigated using amazing moving map software called SkyDemon. The founder Tim Dawson was awarded an OBE for his efforts. Anyway when I'm back on terra firma (which has been the endgame of every flight I've completed, so far) I'm able to review the flight in all its glory. I'm going to try and attach a couple of links to my Google Drive which, I hope, means any saddos like me on here can download and load into Google Maps Pro (PC). You can see the flight, warts and all. Track and elevation. Let me know if it works for you. I think it's fascinating. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GNJ_Y0DeWNpPv0QlEfJwF39rYwnqO-ub/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/18uST2exocCyeNbRtu_fxTYrmVse7g7dj/view?usp=sharing

  34. Seen the reviews for the gigs have been good. Not a big fan of the Collins led era. It’s all Tony Banks’ fault. Hate his face. He just looks dead fucking smug, like he’s hand built a rocket with one hand tied behind his back. And for how he treated Gabriel when his kid was ill and wanted to focus on that instead of the band. Understand his reasons for wanting to carry on but he’s shown that same attitude to his actions as he did back then, and has shown no remorse (not that I’ve seen) since. Lamb Lies Down On Broadway is my favourite album, but Selling England By The Pound and Foxtrot have some bangers on there. “Get ‘Em Out by Friday” is my favourite track. I used to like ‘Brazil’ as well. It’s a strange story, but the reason for that could one day go in a drugs thread.

  39. I blame myself to an extent for voting for him. I gave more weight to the ten pledges , his being a human rights lawyer and talk of him being a firebrand in his youth and not enough weight to what was right in front of my eyes , the knighthood / Trilateral stuff. I suppose I was hoping for a Miliband with gravitas , but ended up with a Gordon Brittas with a knack for getting every binary decision wrong. A mate of mine said that if Starmer was on Play Your Cards Right he would definitely go lower than a three.

  42. Funnily enough I was saying to the husband the other day it needs to be claimed back. I have begun replying to people: "yes I am fucking woke and proud to be. It means I actually try to have some empathy with others" to anyone who says it in that patronising, way. Claim it back and try to make sure people know it stands for human decency. Proud to be Woke!
