  1. Winning goals in CL Final… Origi = 1 Kane, Mbappe, Haaland, Lewendowski = 0 £300m before we even consider picking up the phone.

  2. Her Indoors has just announced that she's joining a choir. What the hell prompted the silly cow do do that I've no idea. She's walking around the house singing 'Oh Happy Day' and saying she'll have to practise at home a lot. This is going to be fucking tedious.........

  4. All this thread has ever proven is that Twitter is shite. It allows morons to form moron networks and perpetuate moronic shite, it's also a bottomless pit of half truths, obscure stories and outright lies which people can use to fuel their agenda. I read on Twitter last week about a family in San Luis Obispo, California who died from trichinosis. Undercooked pork.

  8. Used to drink on Commutation Row when I first left school , I think the main one was called the County ? One night an old Scottish drunk was on the way to the loo , stopped , patted me on the head and said ' You've got lovely currrly hair , I'd love to see you perform ' and then toddled off , leaving me to still have this thrown at me by mates 40 years later.

  10. One of the extra sadnesses with these kind of losses is there are no remotely comparable figures coming through in modern times. It’s just an era slowly disappearing piece by piece. As many have said, at least the music always remains. A day playing records ahead.

  11. Talk about entitled. We went decades being mediocre winning nothing. Player like Shaqiri were here 3 seasons from 2018 winning Champions League, Premier League, Super Cup and World Club cup (the club narrowly missing out on another Premier League and Champions League and Europa League in recent seasons) We are also not bankrupt or saddled with ageing players on huge salaries we cant shift (Origi maybe) We then get derailed by a once in a generation Global Pandemic leading to a re-structure of finance for anyone but the mega bilionaires. Yet we still have an excellent squad with every chance of winning trophies?

  13. I was always against the Keane signing because of the forward roll celebration, you’re not fucking five, stop it you’re a grown man and grown adults don’t do forward fucking rolls. Do a back flip or fuck off. Pathetic.

  16. So after 22 years I’m no longer going to be doing shift work as I knew it. No more days off in the week, no more double shifts and only being in for 2 or 3 days a week. I’m on my last month of shift work before changing jobs and going to Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 15:30. On-call one week every two months and every weekend off sounds great. Getting up 6am 5 days on the trot not so much!

  17. The debut episode of the midweek TLW podcast looks ahead to the massive Liverpool vs Chelsea game at Anfield on Saturday, while recapping the key moments from the two sides’ bitter rivalry. What made it so fierce during the Rafa and Mourinho years? Which of the big games stand out among the highest highs and lowest lows? And how should the Liverpool legacies of Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres’ be affected by their associations with Chelsea? Chris Smith is joined by TLW editor Dave Usher and long-time contributors Ian Brown and John Gallagher with some great stories from our time following the Reds’ classic battles with the Londoners. 29. I used to be a fairly heavy smoker (20-30 a day), and could never understand why some people are so inconsiderate. As well as littering, people smoking while driving or kicking off because they couldn't have a fag at the game used to piss me off too- if you can't go a couple of hours without a fag or wait until there's a service station or rest stop to smoke, then you've got a serious problem.

  32. I looked at this survey and not once was there an option that required a tick for 'Peter Tosh' or drawing a comedy cock and balls or sex option where you said 'yes', So I filled it in properly and said at the end in the 'other comments' box AOT looks like a Tory candidate for Leamington Spa and will kiss babies for votes. Other than that, my answers were worthless.

  38. Our numbers in the trust are starting to climb again after a period of stability, the Black alert call outs are happening earlier in the day as well. We have about 4 patients getting to ICU a day at the moment, almost universally they are either unvaccinated or people with significant immune compromisation (cancer patients, people with genetic conditions, people with significant renal issues). The unvaccinated bunch are the saddest of the lot as invariably most of them wouldn't have been there had they got it, in addition to that on average for each one of them taking up an ICU bed they are blocking about 10/12 heart surgeries/cancer tumour ops.

  41. A business can operate on two general levels I reckon. Profitability as the No1 and exclusive priority, regardless of the quality of your product, provided it's at least "average" and sells. The second is profitability, but moderated by a philosophical commitment to the quality of your product. Occasionally even involving "loss leaders" - you know, foregoing maximum profit and deferring to the maintenance of top quality product. Sports businesses, given the involvement - mainly highly emotional and passionate - of paying spectators, should fall into the latter category - I think, as much as possible. Generally measured by winning things, as often as possible. Never been convinced our owners are committed to this. And this idea that we're "skint" - when millions and millions of dollars in wages are involved, enough to make a small number of employees obscenely and insanely rich forever - I simply won't buy. So of course, this isn't just FSG's or any owners' fault - the greed, the outrageous money commanded by employees. That said, injury free this term and we could well win the League. In which case, of course, Forza FSG !!!

  42. Hi All, I’ve spoken to one of Amy’s best mates and there isn’t a date confirmed for the funeral yet but she’ll let me know. We’ve spoken about some flowers and a donation to their chosen charity. More to follow on this when their plans allow. In the meantime I’ve sent her mum a card and a note with love and sympathies from us all. I’ll update when I know about the funeral plans and I’ll put together a collection, so that anyone who wishes to contribute can do so.
