  1. Had my jab about an hour ago. Apart from being a bit lightheaded and a little bit of a headache, everything seems fine.

  3. We're broken. But it's hard for us not to be. The commentator made a point about Brighton. And the opposite applies to us. They said this might not have been as much of a shock as some think because Brighton have been improving of late and building up to something like this. We haven't had that luxury. Not a real chance all season to build up a bit of momentum. It's been stop-start from the early stages. The back four absolutely decimated by injury. Not just the first choices. But the back-up players too. Then the knock on consequences for the midfield. Jota missing for a lengthy spell too. The rest of the front 3 have been terribly inconsistent and don't have as many excuses. But, they're human and appear to have also been struck by the malaise and general lack of confidence that has spread throughout the team. The title challenge is pretty much dead in the water. These players have had a superhuman two seasons on the bounce. To do it for a third season, with so much quality missing and so few opportunities to get a bit of momentum going was just a step too far for them.

  5. And two last minute signings in Jan, after the horse had bolted, looked like a lame afterthought. The club simply hasn't conducted itself like Champions this season. The injury crisis was clear and obvious a couple of months before Jan 31. There are excuses for this season, yes, but we've helped make them look like excuses rather than reasons. Very disappointing.

  7. Boardwalk Empire is utterly brilliant. Stick with it because there are so many truly great characters to introduce that it does take a while to get moving. Series 3 with Gyp Rosetti remains one of the very best series of telly I have ever seen, and Jimmy's ma would get it several times with the same hard on. Gorgeous.

  8. All 3 of my brother's kids have got it too now. Brother said he was whacked for 2 days but feels much better now. His lad is asymptomatic. The 2 girls just feel a bit fatigued and warm, but no cough. His brother-in-law's wife has got it too. Her kid is in the same class as my brother's youngest daughter. It's mad how rapidly and widely it spreads. Thankfully, they're all relatively healthy and seem to be having a mild case of it.

  10. My next door neighbour who is an elderly man himself, 75. His father only died a few years ago and was 94. I remember saying to Joe (my neighbour). "wow Joe, your father had a great innings" Ill never forget what his reply was "yeah, but when you're 94, 95 is even better" It's easy for us to sit back and just say, ah they're all old anyway. They're still human beings with life left in them. If you can't help out the vulnerable when they need it most, then quite frankly you're a selfish prick. That's my opinion anyway

  11. I've still got one of these in my cupboard from 1986. It reminds me that it never used to be this bitter. Barely a murmur about Heysel back then, despite it only being a year later. It was the same in '89. I think the shitter they got, the more they needed something or someone to blame. I suppose it's easier to blame us rather than perhaps some chronic mismanagement on their part.

  12. With the exception of Kel who was good, no other positives. It was probably worse than the Burnley game. My only consolation is that next season, we will be a different beast. Huge players coming back and I think with the crowds in Anfield, we will look more like ourselves. I hope to God that Virgil, Gomez and Big Bird get lots of rest and are ready for next season. With Matip, get to the bottom of this shit once and for all. Pity there is all the international tournaments and Egypt will probably doubly fuck us over with African Nations and the Olympics. We need to put the foot down. If it wasn't for this top 4 shit, I'd be giving Kelleher, Tsimikas, Kabak and a few young lads serious game time to get them experience for next season to be proper squad players (Kelleher has shown that this season to be fair to him) and letting the rest of the lads more or less concentrate on the Champions League. Our best bet in that is if they do it like a cup competition like last season for the quarters/semi/final. A horrible season where everything that could go wrong has. Next year will be much better and looking forward to seeing what gems Jurgen picks up. He isn't going anywhere.

  14. They were better than us and deserved to win. This wasn't WBA or Burnley, they had a plan and out played us. We weren't going to score if we stayed out there for a month.

  18. This myth that Thiago is slowing the game down is absolutely comical. He moves the ball on quicker than literally any midfielder we have. We spent years saying there’s a lack of creativity from midfield. He plays all sorts of intelligent defence opening passes and has done it today again but the control of the players receiving it has been useless. The tactics we play Thiago or no Thiago are to move the ball side to side and look for openings. The number 8’s play generally safe passes that protect us from counter attacks. It’s like some people have never watched us before. For some stupid reason we then restrict those openings even further by not helping the full backs.

  25. They probably don't feel that they made one. Pressure made them change tact, not a desire to correct an error. The month of pissing around has probably changed our chances of winning the league from decent to slim. They have completely undermined the manager and, for the first time, Klopp couldn't be arsed to hide it publicly. If I felt there was even the slightest chance they'd be more flexible, adaptive, and simply less stingy in the future, I'd be inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, I don't. They are what they are. Rich cunts using the name of the club to make themselves money (eventually, when they sell - they don't need to be taking from the till now. Unlike the last lot, they're not idiots). Minimal investment possible to achieve goals that are acceptable. They struck gold with Klopp in finding a manager that actually likes a project and desires a romanticism in the game. Someone who will trade off a huge transfer budget for patience. When he goes I think opinion on them will change quite quickly. With even a "good" manager, rather than the best in the world (and by some margin, in my opinion) who achieves what this budget warrants - 4th to 6th place finishes and maybe regular last 16/8 in the European Cup (better if we're in the UEFA Cup) - attention will turn to them more fiercely.

  26. Phillips has played his way into the team for me. Until Virgil or Gomez return he should be first choice cb. Not even sure why he was taken out to be honest. These 2 new lads need to been seen alongside Phillips, not out straight in. How the fuck would someone pick a 20 year old and a Preston player ahead of someone who has been playing well for us? He’s very overlooked by most

  27. Clever owners would have built a fucking dynasty on the back of a PL title win. Ours have made it so that will have been the high point of their reign! Completely negligent this season! I'm glad I got to see us win it again because with this lot in charge I doubt I'll see it again!

  28. Does anybody think that the instabilities in central defence have had a massive effect on TAA's role? His form isn't great. But he seems to have had his attacking instincts curbed a bit. When we go forward, he doesn't seem to offer the overlap as much as he did and seems to tuck in a bit and play as a central midfielder to offer a second central blocker in front of the centre backs. Probably a tactical tweak because Klopp doesn't want the makeshift defence exposed and he's also missing, in Fabinho, his best midfielder in terms of breaking up attacks. The attacking threat down the right seems to have dropped right off.

  29. Same old problems again due to centre half issue. Trent and Robbo are noticeably further back with Hendo and Philips and no defensive midfielder. Gini and Milner are slow. Thiago relies on quick movement and we don’t have it just now. The energy of Hendo and Fabinho is lost in middle the defence don’t bring it out like our first 3 centre halves would and as a result the full backs don’t start as far forward. I'd get that Davies on here and put Hendo into midfield.

  30. This is the correct response. The reason why we used to beat teams like this 9 out of 10 times is because we have far far better players. We're missing 6to7 starters from our fully fit first 11. It's been poor but it's a hodge podge of a team really against a decent team. It's going to be a very frustrating couple of months

Nah I'm gonna be hooked up to a machine for 45 minutes donating two units (560ml) and its gonna be in Speke not Moorfields. It was Ancelotti who made me do it actually with that half-time advert. Any other Covid veterans doing it?

  35. Man Down I had watched the odd episode here and there but it is now on Netflix so binged. I absolutely loved it, total farce and he is a great, sad and pathetic character. 8/10 A lot of side hurting laugh out load moments. I never to used to like Greg Davies but recently he has grown on me, which is probably another reason I hadn't watch it. I imagine it will have re-watch value as well. Whilst there are themes running through the series each episode it easily stand alone.

  36. They had aerial reconaissance photos which were quite clear, but at night, at 10,000+ feet it's incredibly difficult to be accurate. The RAF conducted a survey of their raids in 1942 and discovered that something like 5% of the bombs they dropped fell within a couple of miles of the target. One of the first things Harris did when he took over Bomber Command was to target ports, because they were so much easier to find. Even then, the idea was to bomb areas, if you couldn't hit the vital installations you could disrupt services and dehouse workers. The Americans believed that by bombing in daylight they could hit targets precisely, but it's not clear that they were successful.

  37. Being honest, he seems like a decent bloke and is a good manager. He just beat the champions on a night he was missing 4 or 5 of his starting line up. You can't blame the fella for being over the moon beating us. He probably views Jurgen as his managerial icon - I doubt he holds Crackle in the same esteem. Tonight, you can't fault their effort. Down to ten men after a minute and anything and everything that could go wrong did go wrong for them. I didn't think they stopped trying in fairness. Just one of those nights for them.

  39. Matip's injury has probably been a bit of a blessing for us as stupid as that sounds. The lad wouldn't have played many games anyway and we wouldn't have signed anyone. We've now got 2 lads in, although obviously it remains to be seen how good they are and how much they can contribute. We've lost a month when we've perhaps lost our chance of winning the league and we've been eliminated from the cup - and because we've got city this week, I suspect they won't play till Leicester. And it would feel we've even had to let minamino go to help fund this and the FA are paying Gomez's wages. FSG have done far less than the minimum here - the minimum would have been this quality of signing on Jan 1st.

  40. They say Liverpool are a cult but they hate anyone who doesn't buy into their dogs of war/school of science/people's club/everton are so unique mantra. It's why Moyes did so well, even when he finished 17th one year they still liked him because he played up to all their bitterness having sly digs at us, which also took the pressure off him. The prerequisite for any Everton manager is that they "understand" the club, which means they used to play for them or latch onto the fact they measure their entire existence against Liverpool. They despise Koeman because he wasn't interested in all their contrived bullshit. They love Duncan Ferguson so much because he charged round like a lunatic kicking and elbowing people but because he had an Everton tattoo and made out he loved the club despite scoring no goals and taking thousands out the club being injured. They hate anyone giving us any praise about our stadium, fans and impact on world football but they always want outsiders to recognise how much of an historical club they are with a unique identity. They've done fuck all for years yet go off their head if they don't get mentioned in the media all the time. It's like in Mike Bassett when they ask Pele about 5 times who he thinks will win the World Cup but never mentions England.
