  1. I just wanted to thank everyone for the donation of £250 that Love, Jasmine received over Christmas. It was really kind of you to think of us and the work we do and we're very grateful. Thanks to everyone who donated. Rob

  2. You'll have to point me to the transfer window where LFC profited from a global crisis, and Klopp was bought the cream of Bundesliga talent in order for the "needs time" comparison to fully stack up. Fucking hell, he's been bought Ziyech, Werner, Havertz, Thiago Silva, Chilwell and Mendy in a single window. They replaced the most expensive keeper in the world with another £20m+ one less than two years later. He's got Pulisic, Jorginho and Giroud on the bench. They've got CL football and a good set of young players. It's light years away from what Klopp came into - Lampard has got at least a two year head start on where Klopp was starting from and I'd argue three or four, personally. "Needs time to build his team" give me fucking strength. They finished third and won the fucking Europa League the year before he started, he didn't take over at fucking Sheffield United. People talk about Sarri as if he was there for thirty years and built the youth academy with his bare hands when actually he did a decent job in his single season and, Jorginho aside (poor Frank, lumbered with a donkey like Jorginho), it's not like the team is stacked with 'his' players who need to be phased out in order to move forward with a new style of play. In all seriousness I don't think Lampard is a terrible manager. But he's a Championship level manager at best for the moment as evidenced by the fact he couldn't get Derby out of the second tier even with a load of Chelsea loanees two years ago. You could give the Chelsea job to any Championship manager (probably League One as well actually) and they'd probably get at least the same tune out of this group of players, if not more: he's got the gravitas of a club legend and that's all he'd have over them. Doesn't stop him pontificating on what's right and wrong in the game though, nor did it stop him being a dressing room sneak who either actively helped get managers the sack or did nothing to reel in others who did. So fuck him. I hope Pep Lijnders fucking webs the cunt all over Anfield in a few months time.

  4. The schooling bothers me not just in politics but right across the board in this country. Id smash the system to fucking bits. My working class mate through graft, intelligence became on officer in the army he went to that posh fucking place cant remember what its called, he was the only non public school boy and was treated like a fucking chimp, despite being head and shoulders amongst most his colleagues he was bypassed for promotion time after time for Tarquin or some other twat and ended up leaving because of it. These fuckers have the entire country wrapped up in every sector and they do see the rest of us as the plebs, the workers ants there as tools to be used to improve their lot. Fuck them and their rigged school system and hierarchy.

  5. I sailed across the Atlantic on a sailboat back in 2012 and the longest stretch was from the Cape Verde Isles to Barbados. Took about 13 days. When you're on Watch obviously you're helming and/or trimming the sails and then you're cooking or doing the domestic chores which leaves a lot of time to just sit and stare out at the ocean. The pace of life just shifts right down and you get sucked into the whole experience. You find yourself staring out into nothingness for hours at a time. I should imagine it's similar to meditation. When we got to Barbados I was gutted as the journey was over

  6. In my opinion if you're up against a mid table club's six foot six back up keeper the best option would be to not have any shots on goal but instead chip the ball in to the box as often as possible, aiming at the three midget forwards.

  7. Our attacking players seems to have no confidence at all for some reason, we don’t take any shots on goal unless we have a 100% scoring opportunity, it’s really painful to watch. Teams and defenders seems to defend against us like their lives depend on it, can’t remember to have seen so many blocks, players throwing themselves at everything like I have the last three games. Absolutely nothing falls for us either though, and the ref was absolutely awful, two shocking penalty decisions not given to us, what’s the point with VAR if he’s are not given and what’s the point with VAR if there are no consistency whatsoever. VAR needs to get rid of the personnel in charge, the incompetence and inconsistency is absolutely shocking, it should be fully automatic. Then we would have no bias, no inconsistency and it would be fair for all. Like it is no, it’s a fuckin joke. Fair play to Soton, they did what they needed to do, had the luck on their side and zings scored a great goal. Andre Marriner though, I hope he gets syphilis the cunt. Oh and a short corner for the second game in a row, when we are one minute past overtime. Just fuck off with that, schoolboy stuff.

  12. Sorry but the club have fucked this right up. We should have been planning for a big January transfer ever since we knew VVD was out for the season. We've literally had months to prepare and it looks like we've done nothing and what we get is the utter lunacy of having 2 midfielders as our centre back pairing. The club should take the view that neither VVD nor Gomez will play again this season, and that Matip will be available for less than half of our remaining games - if we're lucky. Take that view and buy a centre back this month, otherwise we can forget about the title and even the top 4 will be a struggle on our current, shitty form.

  13. Never! Yo've got to nonchalantly dismiss the threat of any of the teams breathing down our neck and wave away any concerns about our own shortcomings and then confidently declare we'll win the league by 10 to 15 points. Its what all the cool kids do.

  17. Carole Malone. One of many reasons the country is far shitter than it should be is this woman and people like her are given a huge platform to talk about topics like they are experts on them. "Here to talk about the effect of the pandemic on health and the economy and how we should address it is... Carole Malone". I pinpoint her because I personally can't stand her I think she is a horrible person, she might not be but I've yet to hear her opinion on anything and not think christ she is an awful person. She's loud, she will not change her opinion no matter how stupid she is made to look infact she doubles down and gets louder. This fucking idea that journalists opinions are the ones worth hearing, I want journalists to report the facts where possible and the opinions of those who deal in them. I know there's different types of journalism so its fine if the story is the journalists journey or experience itself.

  18. I think we all agree we were pretty poor in the first half. That said, it must unsettle players when you have a clearly bent and corrupt cunt like mariner was, giving out 2 cards in the opening minutes to Thiago and Robbo. To be honest, I thought one of them wouldnt finish the game the way this twat dished out the cards. The corrupt cunt booked Thiago to show him who was boss after he'd had words with the ref in the first, what, 60 seconds? He then books him for a challenge that was less than 2 good penalty shouts he turned down. Robbo get's fouled and has a little nibble back. You can say he shouldnt have but come on, how many times have those situations seen a yellow come out in the first few minutes and instead the ref just gives the player a warning? Ive seen it plenty of times at Anfield when an oppo has hacked down one of our players in the first few minutes. It's a finger wag and a talking to and hardly ever a yellow for the first 'offence.' I dont call the players shit but we were very poor in that first half. The goal came from a soft free kick. Trent, well, I dont know what he was doing with that ball, he didnt seem to know what to do. Joe got pelters earlier in the season that bounced at around midriff to chest height but Trent just seemed to let this one go. What's going on with Trent? Has he got long covid because he just doesnt seem to want to get forward. During the West Brom game, he just kept patting the ball back, mainly to Hendo. As good as Trent is, I honestly havent seen a player hit the first man so many times when playing the ball forward. Ive no beef with Ings but did he really try and score there or was he just trying to get the ball back into the middle of the goal? Doesnt matter because it went in. Second half, we played much better but again our final ball was either blocked or poor choice made and the chance gone begging. A lot is made that their keeper only had one shot to save. Yeah but how many were blocked by defenders in front of him? It doesnt make good reading and it seems since we scored 7 at Palace it just isnt happening for the players. Mo, Sadio and Bobby continually made the wrong choices and wanted too many touches in the box again. But the biggest concern for me was two shouts for penalties on Sadio plus another from Gini when his shot was blocked by an arm. First off, Id say Gini isnt one to claim anything as a pen unless it is. You could say it was a close shot to the player and he didnt have time to move his arm out of the way. Question is, why is it in the way in the first place? I think the same player did a sliding block later and his arm was above his head, Im left wondering with mariner's and VAR's abject performance tonight whether they'd have turned that down as a pen if the ball hit his arm? Did VAR look at Gini's shout? I cant remember in game but if they did, they didnt take long to decide and it set the unbelievable tone for two later shouts, both on Sadio. Im really struggling to believe one if not both of these are not given as he's clearly hauled down in the box by a Southampton defender. They're as clear as day and far more blatant than that joke united got awarded against Villa. Said before, Sadio doesnt go down when his leg was grabbed by darlow at newcastle no pen. He's hauled down twice tonight and neither are given. Worse, VAR says there isnt enough to overturn the ref's decision! So what happened to the 'forensic' examination of these incidents, numerous replays from every angle in slow and normal time? It's a fucking joke. The rules seem to change every game Liverpool Football Club play in the PL now. After the West Brom game some people said they deserved a point for their 2nd half performance. Well, no matter how bad we were in the first half tonight, we deserved a point in the 2nd half tonight. And if the corrupt bent mariner and his VAR chums had done their job, we would have had chance to steal all three, however undeserving that is. it certainly seems the way for united at the moment. Game wise, Jurgen clearly has a problem right now because the front three arent taking their chances. They are taking too many touches in an effort to make sure they score but it's having the opposite effect. I dont really see the loss of Virgil makes a difference in tonight's game, Fulham, Newcastle or West Brom. Virgil isnt preventing the goal tonight. It's the other end of the pitch we have problems. It was never going to be easy to retain the title even before Virgil and Joe got injured. Tonight's result makes it a whole lot harder.

  27. Aye he's an opportunistic toerag, all in on the party line of tearing the NHS to bits when he was health secretary but then emerges from backbench obscurity singing about protecting it when people are applauding it on their doorsteps. I've no doubt he'll be put forward as the One Nation 'moderate' the second Johnson has fulfilled his purpose of getting the Red Wall onside with a culture war, rebadging a worse version of Theresa May's deal with some bluster now that he's managed to stall and exhaust all other options (which impresses gammon twats whose experience of negotiating comes down to getting 50% off a metallic paint job on their Cavalier) and 'delivered' Brexit, and then been the fall-guy in the inevitable post-Covid inquiry (which will allow them to parrot how accountable they are when all it will amount to is "Boris got Covid and lost his nerve and therefore all faulty decision-making rests with that). They'll proudly put forward Jeremy "Champion of the NHS and Schoolchildren" Hunt forward as the sensible candidate and a New Era can begin. And people will fall for it and he'll get on with the usual mandate of slash and burn whilst the next leader emerges untainted by association. Fucking xenomorphs.

  28. Vincent Duluc, who’s a brillant journalist and L’Equipe ‘s head of football, said we are an option but Real is still the big favorite to land him. Psg could sell him to welcome Messi and balance their squad, but they really want to keep him. So it’s all on him to make up his mind. He’s mostly playing at the right hand side of the front three, so it would be an obvious replacement for Mo. It would make sense but I reckon at the moment he’s not as good as Mo, and can be a lazy bastard. He’s not improved much the past two years. People often talk about Neymar and M’Bappé, but they are not on the same level, Neymar is a class above.

  32. I’ve seen a lot of travesties in life, a lot of things happen to good people that our collective conscience shouldn’t allow. I’ve seen worlds destroyed and rebuilt in images of hatred. Seen the weak pushed further into suffering by the strong. Thousands of years of tragedy and travesty, but I have never seen anything as downright disgusting as ‘The Edge’ win guitar innovator of the year award! A boss digital delay, that’s it, nothing else, shit cunt. Stupid hat as well, the big baldy, shit guitar playing prick.

  36. Very very sad news. I cannot remember the exact year, but they headlined a pantomime show in Liverpool in the early sixties. I’ll take a stab in the dark and say it were either 1964 or 1965, because they’d done that amazing feat of three consecutive number one songs. Mum took my brother and me and we were completely mesmerised by the dark red velvet jackets the band wore, and the guitars and drums. They did a perfect rendition of YNWA that day, and Ferry Across The Mersey. Whenever Mum took me across on the ferry to Birkenhead, the tune would be playing in my young head. Seems like just yesterday. Goodbye Gerry, and thanks for the wonderful memories. You were loved by many, including me. Say hello to my long lost brother Bob and give him a show for me. Cheers.

  37. The most legendary man associated with Liverpool FC outside the sphere of players and managers. His song has lifted us in times of sadness and joy. 42. We've coped fine without him and Gomez in the sense that we've not been conceding many goals since their injuries. The problem is, stylistically we're much worse off. Can't play a high line, can't press as well, can't squeeze the spaces and compress the pitch. And specifically with van Dijk, as you say, we miss the long passing and the set piece threat.

  44. I went in 2005. I booked a round the world trip and we had 6 stopovers on our ticket. Japan was the place I wanted to go to out of most of Asia. Was there only 5 days but loved it. There's a replica Cavern club in the Roppongi district of Tokyo which was hilarious. Once people found out me and my Mrs were from Liverpool they all came over and started talking to us. The sheer size of Tokyo and how busy it is blew my mind, yet everything runs like clockwork and no one dawdles or gets in your way. I stayed in a hotel overlooking Shinagawa station and just sat at the window watching all the trains come in and everyone pile off them and on in a polite manner. I went to a restaurant and the waitress came out with my bowl of noodles , she slipped and dropped them on the floor yet she came over to my table almost begging me for forgiveness like she had committed some unspeakable crime. I had to reassure her about 20 times it was bo big deal. Got the bullet train to Fuji, I remember it being very cloudy and cold there though!
