  1. It's a shame these interviews aren't done in a questions and answers type setting where there are people to challenge them. He says because there was a break in the middle that that makes the season nonviable? What break is acceptable for him? Is two weeks too much? Is every league that has a winter break also not viable every year? If only some teams had to stop then ok, but every team stopped? So hows that an issue? As for likening the season to an actual, real life marathon? So is Deeney now demanding that all 38 league games must be played back-to-back from now on? Clubs are going to need pretty big squads. If you want to speak about fairness and asterisks then 1988-89 after Hillsborough is a sad example of where it's nonviable. Liverpool having to play 8 games in 23 days including extra time in a Cup Final while Arsenal only had to play 4, is an example of unfair. This is perfectly fair on every club. It seems the whole "Health issue" is taking a back seat for Deeney. It's now the "break was a bit long"?

  2. It's his own fault thinking the grass was greener. Should have stayed where he was. Just upped sticks and fucked off without so much of a second though for our entertainment in the WOAW thread. Made his bed........

  3. Why do you think it's burning out? It's nonsense. While the R rate is below 1, the infection numbers will fall and fall till it's gone, a continuous R rate below 1 will eliminate a virus. We've achieved this so far by mostly staying at home and that's now coming to an end. As soon as we're all in contact again, the R rate will go up and if we can't keep it below 1, infections will go up. The test and trace the UK government have put in place in England is below the standard they themselves said was required to keep the R rate down. In Wales your lockdown has continued longer than ours, so it's to be expected your infection rates are pushing the virus out of the community. Bad luck for you, you live next to England where we're not trying to eliminate the virus. It's not burning out, infection rates are down as controls to push the R rate under 1 have achieved their goal. Because we were so fucked, we've had to use a sledgehammer solution, but it's worked. We're now attempting at relaxing those controls with questionable solutions to replace them. Everything that's happened to this point is entirely predictable. It's not burn out, just contagion control.

  4. I've sent an e-mail to my boss this morning stating my case & he responded to say he's going to check the call himself & feedback but he agrees that her comments are 'heavily weighted & excessive'. If the pattern continues into the future, I have already decided that I will be raising a complaint with HR. It's the last thing I want to do but I have to defend my livelihood & family here.

  6. Aye, the system is bollocks & open to interpretation. The only thing I'll say for it is that I have the option to go in & listen to my call after it's been marked & state my case, which I have done today (& without counting my chickens, I think I've made her look like a bit of a cunt here). I can't mark her work, she's in a slightly different position to the rest of the team & generally isn't taking calls so that revenge option is out. I have taken this an attack on my livelihood & my family, it might be a wee power trip to her but it's my kids food on the table as far as I'm concerned so some serious thought will be going into how I am going to approach this. As I said on the other thread, I wouldn't do this to my worst enemy, I'd maybe call them a prick on a night out but lying about people to get them into shit at work is scumbag behaviour.

  7. One I suggested to Remmie some years ago, once everyone is back in the office send her some flowers anonymously, all the women will crowd around and it'll be like 'oooh who are they off?' but the card will just say 'you're fat'.

  8. Bet you've missed me moaning about a woman at my work, good news, I'm back. In my team we have to check a sample of each others calls every month, the last 3 months this snidey fucking bitch has marked me as a fail. She's been grassing me up for other things as well (all minor, unimportant shit) but I've been having a bit of a tough time recently with the odd mistake & these 3 months of failed calls has really put me in the shit with my bosses. I had a look and listen to the most recent call fail tonight & she's writing comments about me not saying please & thank you at all in the call when I've quite clearly said please & thanks a couple of times so she's going out of her way to lie & get me in the shit. I have absolutely no fucking idea what her problem is with me but I'm going to go through the three fails with a fine tooth comb tomorrow & make a note of everything she's got wrong & send it to my boss with a recommendation that somebody who is capable of being objective marks my calls instead. Honestly, I've got kids to feed & a mortgage to pay here, I don't need some fucking snide trying to lose me my job. I wouldn't mark my worst enemy down to be honest, I'd maybe mention their calls needed work to them instead. Cunt.

  9. Just to let you know that all Evertonians aren't bitter, nasty and vindictive despite me buzzing off the majority of them. My mate is a proper obsessed Evertonian, we went to Monchengladbach last year and the lads we were with all sung YNWA at the game, he joined in rather than being childish and turning his back. The German guys we know sent me some Liverpool/Borussia scarves over as a present to me and my mates, rather than moaning/sighing about it he has put it up as pride of place in his Everton mancave which has about 25 Duncan Ferguson shirts up. His 2 daughters support Liverpool as his Mrs is a kopite so he has to buy 2 Liverpool kits every year. He went to a social club last year to watch the CL Final with his family and was genuinely happy we won it. He's a better man than me.

  10. A fucking awful, awful tragedy. One that sadly was inevitable at some time and some place - anyone who remembers the time and anyone who remembers how things were or has read up on how they were will know that is a sad fact. How it happened and why it happened is a long and grim story and football fans, the authorities, the clubs, governments, police etc should all hang their heads in shame for their part in how and why it happened and for the fact that it was sadly inevitable at some time and some place. The people who glibly use the tragedy of Heysel and the sad loss of life as a weapon in football rivalry now should also hang their heads in shame. Thankfully a lot of lessons have be learned from that sad, sad day - too late of course and sadly further mass loss of life at football matches still followed with many of the same issues at the heart. But 35 years on the game has managed to move on from those dark days and is not plagued anywhere near as badly with all those issues, that is the light that comes out of what was awful dark. RIP

  11. Sad day. Still remember getting back from school, having my tea and then switching on the tv. In my mind I think it was Dickie Davis reporting on it, but I was young so maybe I have made that up. I remember just sitting there in disbelief wondering why the game was allowed to continue. (I'm in no way comparing this to Heysel, but it triggered a memory for me) Many years later I watched a bull fight in Mexico. It was grim. While everyone cheered the bulls being tormented to death, I remember seeing the faces of two young kids sitting near me. They were in shock, putting on fake smiles and cheers to copy their parents, but you could see the recognition on their faces that something wasn't right and they weren't really enjoying it. Thats how I felt watching the game - all the thrill, anxiety and excitement I normally associate with footie was gone. RIP the 39.

  12. London did not reach its peak before lockdown. Lockdown ensured that cycle had peaked as it was supposed to do. Well I'm not sure what you mean by you 2nd point. As I've explained, while the R rate is below 1, the infection rate will decrease even if lockdown is slightly relaxed. We are still seeing hotspots where in localised areas where the R rate for that area exceeds 1. They've talked about this on the daily briefings. I'm assuming the success Wales are seeing is because of your tighter lockdown, your R rate is lower than the uk national average. I'm not interested in SARS, it infected 8000 people globally, there is no comparison and because of the small numbers this virus was controlled with standard contagion management. I've covered that. There will be hotspots. Most in this country have been caused by care homes. People in care homes still have to mix with the rest of us, buy food etc and will spread the virus. The lack of PPE in care homes for most of this crisis was the cause of that. The virus is decreasing because we're making it decrease. It's completely dependent on the R rate. As we have seen all over the world, without control, especially in urban areas, this can and will grow.

  13. You've answered your own question. Twitter is a privately owned service rather than publicly owned, they can define their own T&C within the law, check their conditions they can close any account at will. Just because it's a popular service doesn't make it federal property.

  14. As someone with 2 young kids, my act on it advise if my 2 year old girl stopped wanting to wear dresses is to stop putting her in dresses, not to fly in and start calling her Bruce straight away. Perhaps this makes me a child abuser!

  15. Get me her address. She’s just booked herself a place on my Raoul Moat style list of people all over the country that are GETTING IT before I go full spastic. So far it consists of my bird’s mum, my old next door neighbour, three people from Runcorn Old Town, some cunt Chairman Meow nominated and Stig’s ex in-laws. GETTING IT.

  19. His freedom of speech hasn't been impinged upon. The tweet about postal voting was posted. He's had his opinion voiced. In the interests of not wanting to be a platform that is seen as subverting democracy, Twitter have seen that a high profile politician is using their platform to potentially lie about the democratic process for their own benefit and, having left the tweet up, have posted a link to an alternative source of information on the subject discussed so that a balanced view has been offered and users csn make their minds up with access to ALL the information. His tweet about shooting looters is also still up. He's spoken. He's had his say. But, in doing so, he may have breached a condition of the platform he's decided to use to voice his views and that platform has hidden the content of his tweet, which can still be read by clicking on the warning. He's been subject to the terms and conditions of use and the consequences of breaching those conditions that every Twitter user accepts. If he thinks he's above the Twitter policies, he's always welcome to use another privately owned platform. But he'll be subject to their conditions of use too.

  20. I felt he got a hard time for his previous comments, as I think any of us with a young and at risk child would have felt the same way. But bringing us into it in such a spurious way just marks him out as one of the bantz brigade, so he can get fucked.

Anyone who, without good reason, that threatens your livelihood and that of your family is a cunt of the highest order.

  24. Funny as fuck seeing Kuensberg put on mute as she tried to ask a follow up about why tweedledum and tweedlefuck weren't allowed to talk about Cummings. So much for you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. It's been genuinely amusing seeing how all the folks who used to think the Tories would only ever shit in other people's mouths are now getting a belly full of brown. "The Tories only have a problem with the left wing media". Oh fuck I'm on the shitlist. "The Tories only shit on poor people." Oh wait my business has gone bust. "The Tories respect the rule of law and people who abide by the rules." Oh wait the attorney general is tweeting support for someone who broke the rules. "The Tories look after their own." Oh look Philip Hammond is selling toner cartridges out the back of his jag. "The tories will look after the north." Haha, get ready boys and girls! "The tories look after pensioners, we're their base." Oh look it's another meat wagon. Said it before and I'll say it forever, if you've ever given these cunts your vote, or even the time of day, you deserve absolutely everything that's coming to you.

  27. @Captain Turdseye Yeah the player pricing is definitely something to get to grips with. You see the In-form Defender in the world 1/3 the price of a benchwarmer at City! It's due to the fact that if Jesus scores a goal in tournaments, he will score more points than Virgil would for defending. I don't want to spam it, but if you click that guide I linked in my other comment, it explains the tournament process etc. (such as points scored per action)

  33. I love that term "assigned", as if it's some arbitrary choice that is made by parents. Maybe we should wait until someone is mentally capable of deciding for themself whether or not they are trans rather than deciding that a little boy wants to be a girl because he likes walking round in mum's stilettoes.

  40. Always remember listening to Radio Merseyside because there wasnt wall to wall coverage hours before the game in those days. It was hard to envisage what was happening, was it Eddie Hemmings doing the pre game updates? Im not ducking anything here, despite everything I think a section of our fans were culpable that night. I continually hold out hope that the club will one day make a more fitting memorial to those that died rather than the simple plaque on the front of the SKD. RIP

  43. Buddy Guy - Sweet Tea Never heard of this particular album by Buddy Guy, not that I can recall anyhow. IMO One of the best guitarists ever. Is there any coincidence in this being released in 2001 when The Black Keys first started out? Their early sound is very similar to this. Overall I had mixed feelings on this one, very good in parts but someone needed to be more in control and reign this in. I'm struck by the immediacy of the recording which doesn't really work - too much reverb, too much space. Many of the tracks are outstaying their welcome big time. It sounds like one big Jam put to tape that would probably be great live. I do like some of the heavy blues going on here - excellent guitar work throughout. Done Got Old - Classic sounding blues track. I really like this - I hear you, Buddy. I hear ya... I thought it was setting the tone for the rest of the album - wrong.. Baby Please Don't Leave Me - Deep prodding fuzzy bass and percussion throughout this one with some kick ass riffs and solo's. It's just too long though and the bass eventually gets overbearing. Maybe it's my headphones though. Look What All You Got - Lyrics are too repetitive but I get a real buzz off that guitar. I like the little turn around at the end adds a bit of interest. Stay All Night - Could be listening to The Black Keys here so there must be a crossover there somewhere... I like this track. Tramp - Great intro with a real dirty dark blues feel to the lyrics. Bit of a hypnotic looping effect listening to this. He really makes the guitar cry over that 8/8. Too long though. The bass again is saturating my headphones. I'll have to look into whether it's me or the record.. She's Got The Devil In her - Great vocal on this one. That "thinny" sound that sometimes pops up on some of guitar solo's is a bit annoying. I Gotta Try You Girl - A guitar workout really. Nothing interesting happening from the rhythm section. Far too long and a bit boring to be honest. Does it end? Who's Been Foolin' You - Totally unlike the rest of the album and a nice little breather. Vocals are good and the rhythm section finally gets a chance. But that effect on the guitar is crap - it doesn't work here IMO. Sounds bolted on rather than part of the track. I do like this track though. It's a Jungle Out There - sounds like some of the other Buddy Guy tracks I've heard over the years. One of the better songs in terms of lyrics. It is indeed a Jungle out there. This record just sounds like a lot of jams put to tape. Lyrics are sparse and never stray from the standard Blues formula when they do pop up.Guitar is the star of the show as expected but that's not enough for me to make me want to listen over again. I'll give it a 6.5/10

  44. So that’s schools in France and Soul who’ve had to close again due to a spike, but no, let’s carry on with the completely unnecessary and pointless task of dragging kids back in for four weeks instead of looking to how we can prepare to start next term with as much safeguards as possible.
