'Case confirmed that no investigation has taken place into claims that Johnson tried to appoint Carrie Johnson - now his wife, but at the time his mistress - to a £100,000-a-year job in the Foreign Office when he was foreign secretary. Case said that it was for the PM to authorise such an investigation. William Wragg (Con), the committee chairman, suggested Johnson was “not keen” on the idea, prompting laughter. Case just said that was a question for the PM.'

So how are those checks and balances working out when you can appoint your own cabinet and stack the house of lords with people who owe you favours.

Said it before and I'll say it again though, the only people to blame for this are the great British public. Johnson has never pretended to be Jed Bartlett, it was obvious to the produceds of have I got news for you what an absolute mess of a man be was.

If you're from fucking Bury and you vote for someone based purely on the fact you want to see all the Pa*is sent back to Romania, you deserve all the famine and pestilence that comes your way.

Surely all the other world leaders and their aids, assistants, wonks etc are aware that when the busted mattress in human form is telling them to up their defence spending as he’s being criticised at home for breaking a manifesto promise to raise his and is actually cutting quite significantly.

Its fucking odd behaviour…

For anyone other than Johnson.

I reckon the easiest way these days to predict the future is to expect the exact opposite of anything Johnson says will happen because as sure as night follows day, Johnson makes a statement saying something is the case and without fail the opposite happens.

It is mildly perturbing that both him and Truss seem to think it will make them more popular with Joe six pack to make increasingly bellicose moves against a power that has enough nuclear weapons to destroy the solar system. I'm sure it's all been well thought through though.
