Watch Politics Live immediately before it too, it was brilliant as it broke the news of Christian Wakeford's defection.

No idea how a person can defect from one party to another. What principles politically are so interchangeable you can go from one to the other. Changing to something similar yeah but tory to Labour and vice versa just doesn't compute with me. I can understand either switching to Libs a sort of medium ground in-between.

By person I mean politician someone who stands for election.

I strongly suggest drinking the tea before hand and having nothing liquid or solid in your hands when watching it mate.

Bury though, red wall, probably doesn't fancy his chances of getting back in as a Tory.

Some people aren't especially ideological to begin with. They may have things they want to achieve or causes they wish to advance, and hitch their wagon to whoever they feel is better positioned to help them do that. Also, parties are broad churches, whether anyone wants to acknowledge it or not, and there is always going to be some overlap at the edges. And thirdly, there's the not inconsiderable fact that Labour's political direction has moved towards the centre since the 2019 election. Starmer's Labour is not Corbyn's Labour. The good news for Labour is that if Tory MPs are prepared to jump ship from Tory to Labour, then that bodes well for Tory voters doing the same.

You missed the "best economy in Europe", "lowest ever youth employment figures", "bestest vaccine roll out in Europe" tagged to the end of that every time. While labour would all have us on permanent lockdown

Sounds like a certain poster in the EU thread.
