Levelling up the UK is not enough for Saint Floppy Haired Tosspot, obviously he fixed that before his smoked salmon and champagne breakfast. He’s off to sort the world out.

Nobody mention cuts to international aid proceeded over by his government though, that just wouldn’t be cricket.

Same goes for Brexit, foreign policies, domestic policies etc. that have impacted the standard of living for millions, destabilised parts of the world significantly and undermined opportunities for future generations across the globe.

The Daily Mail is considered the go-to paper for comments re right wing cuntery , but the Express has galloped way ahead of it .

It was bought by the Daily Mirror a while back so I do genuinely wonder if, while still trying to cater to their 'core market', they also take the piss a bit with it.

If I was at the helm I'd be giving away Charles and Diana mugs left and right and printing stories about how Seagull shit was whiter post-Brexit.

The Express is owned by the mirror group, madly.

The Express, Star and Mirror share the same office and some of the same management team.

Strange times indeed.

It shows you these papers just exist to rinse people for whatever they can. Have a title that appeals to every part of the political spectrum and if that's not enough, own all the regionals too.

Mirror group owns the Echo and The MEN as well.

One of the key things they do to bring costs down is autogenerate content for each publication, so you will see very similar national stories, harvested from PA/Reuters with a little bit of local variation accredited to different 'authors'.

During the Brexit referendum vote leave knew this and knew how to aggregate scare stories so it looked like dozens of papers were reporting these things, when in reality it was one story under many different, almost indistinguishable, guises.

Reach specialises in what I'd call 'anti-journalism'. There's virtually zero interest in any stories of substance, instead only in how it does online, by any means necessary. It's an upside down world at that level now, junior marketing types calling the shots and lauding the latest clickbait special about vegan pasties or some such, while reporting from town hall meetings is dismissed as 'dry and boring'. I actually hate these people, with a passion.

The Telegraph Group & The Hail owners are following a similar clicks for cash incentivised work enviroment, so long established journo's are being sacked as their stories don't generate enough 'engagement'. Not only these, but others are looking at engagement as a way of structuring payment as well, which is obscene as you'll have binary argument generating the most 'engagement' damn the truth or context.

Sad, but it was enivitable once print media lost it's monopoly on advertisement revenue.

The fuckers own something like 100 regional titles now. The don't even try to hide it, the websites are identical.

Bezos vow: Early this morning, No. 10 sent out a readout from the PM’s meeting with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who pledged $1 billion to conservation efforts overnight. “The Prime Minister welcomed the Bezos Earth Fund’s commitment, announced tonight, to give $1 billion to protect forests and remove carbon from the air. The Prime Minister and Mr Bezos agreed to work together to see what more could be done in the run up to and at COP26,” the readout notes. It adds: “The Prime Minister raised the issue of taxation, and hoped progress could be in implementing the G7 agreement on tax.”

They could have just written that Bezos laughed in the clowns face, much more concise.
