We have a PM who is so work shy he’s quite happy for his senior team to shield his incompetence by keeping him out of the public eye as much as possible.

 

He’s basically been dealt a hand that says everyone you work with will think you’re shit but that means you don’t have to do much actual work. I suspect he’s more than happy with this and probably thinks he’s ‘winning’ in some way.

Just a note in case you weren't paying attention - Members of Parliament are being disenfranchised today by the removal of electronic voting.  This means that those members who fall foul of lock down rules are unable to vote in House business. Another shameful act from the Tories.

Anyone else seen the farce that walking plasterboard, Rees-Mogg, enacted in Parliament today? Hours long queues with no social distancing at the end just for MPs to vote, when they could have just pressed a button on their laptops. These are the fucking geniuses who’ll be negotiating out post-Brexit trade deals. We are fucked.

 

Oh, and Boris MIA Johnson is cancelling the weekend briefings because of ‘low ratings’!!!!! I was under the mistaken impression these were public briefings, not ratings-driven tv dramas.

They have been wheeling out the B team on a weekend so no wonder nobody watches. Especially since the B team of this particular Government would be the F team of a semi capable one.

 

You’re right though, these shouldn’t be ratings driven. If just one person gets some reassurance (unlikely), a piece of information that helps get them through the night or simply keeps the Government being held to account, then they should happen.

 

To be honest, I don’t watch every night. There’s only so much spin, half truths and outright lies I can take.
