Best thing Swinson and the Lib-Dems can do if they genuinely give a fuck about Remaining is withdraw from the election as a whole. They have zero chance of doing anything but fucking Labour up and having power and Brexit to Johnson and the Tories

Not sure what's funnier, the complaint that the Lib Dems should have the effrontery to stand for election, or the idea that if they just stood aside, the entire liberal vote would decamp en masse to Labour.

 

Of course the flipside of the argument is that if Labour genuinely cared about Remaining, they'd stand aside in those places where they don't have a chance. Amazing how that obligation never applies to them, isn't it.

Labour could stand aside from every single seat and the Libs still wouldn't win an election. That is the big difference.

Erm, there are plenty of seats that the Lib Dems will win whether Labour stand aside or not.

 

In any case I'm sure the post-election narrative for when Labour lose big will be that it's all the fault of the Lib Dems.

From a remain perspective we need Lib Dems to take quite a lot of seats off the Tories. I think this is one of the reasons Swinson has being going after Corbyn more than Johnson. She needs to convince those tories that would never vote Labour that they aren't siding with him.
