Let’s say that miraculously the LD’s win the most seats in another hung parliament and however many ‘Remain Alliance’ candidates win seats still isn’t enough to form a government, leaving a Lim Dem lead coalition with the Tories as the only way of gaining power.

Do you seriously think Swinson would turn down that chance to be PM?

In such an unlikely scenario - some would say impossible - I would envisage a minority government.

What if Labour are asked to support her in that LD win scenario?

I imagine they’d say no. The membership wouldn’t go for it for a start and it would get messy pretty quickly. The Tories and Lib Dems obviously have that experience of entering into a coalition.

Well, in that case, if Labour refuse, presumably turning down the chance to negotiate a new deal with the EU protecting workers' rights and than putting in to the people to decide (as per that Momentum 30 second video) can you really blame Lib Dems if they then asked the Tories for their support?

I don't really know how many different ways I can say the same thing. There will be no Tory-Lib Dem coalition, under any circumstances, any scenario, that you can imagine.

Stronts, it's not about how many times you say it or how you say it; understanding what you're saying isn't an issue. Trusting that it's right is the issue. That's not to say I think there will definitely be one, but I just don't buy what you're selling there. It's not an issue of understanding.

No, it's an issue of people having wholly unjustified scepticism because they've spent the last decade convincing themselves that liberals and conservatives are basically identical because they teamed up once in the midst of a national crisis.

Anyway, I can't wait for tomorrow's hot take. Probably something like "There's no evidence the Lib Dems wouldn't have gone into coalition with the Nazis in 1930s Germany, so Jo Swinson is the same as Hitler".

Ah, but what you’re forgetting is that I invented this whole scenario and in my head the Lib Dems would ask the Tories first because they’re old buddies, old pals. Corbyn will run away and join Hamas the moment the last results come in and the new leader will be getting vilified in the press because they once left their cat out in the rain overnight.

I know we were dealing with hypotheticals, since this election is to a great extent about Brexit it seems more likely to me they would ask Labour for support first. And I think Labour would say yeah, baby, why not.

Moo.

That's Moo the poster, I haven't turned into a cow.

On reflection I apologise for calling him an imbecile, but it felt like he was questioning my integrity.

Thats like me questioning Spider off Corrie on his favourite cut of steak.

Leaving aside that nonsense you made up your n the second paragraph that has nothing to do with me, I don’t think it’s remotely unjustified to be sceptical of Lib Dems. We are in a far bigger crisis now than then, and the same rationale could be used. You might want to blame others for them not trusting the Lib Dems, but there’s a reason - the Lib Dem’s went back on pledges before and backed many Tory policies, and people don’t believe there’s no chance they’d go into a coalition with them. You nice bitten, twice shy.

It's another crisis, yes, but this time the parties have incompatible stances.

I agree, they are. I just don’t think that’s an insurmountable hurdle. They can say they’re doing it to temper the chance of a a no deal, for the good of the country, etc. Mature politics, etc.

Again, I’m not saying it’ll definitely happen, but the words of politicians do very little to make me certain. If the only option is for the Tories to offer the Lib Dems a seat at the table, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a deal.

Similarly, I think it’s possible she would do a deal with Labour, too. As you and I spoke about almost a decade ago, I wouldn’t be unhappy with that. At least to get this Brexit bollocks out of the way.

Meet your Lib Dem candidate for Hove and Portslade. She seems like such a rational and level headed lady.

I take it the is not aware that I work in commercial dispute resolution specialised in IP rights when they copied and published my social media profile picture instead of publishing the photos I provided and licensed (which amounts to copyright infringement)...
