Was it brought about by their nefarious intent to ruin the club?

What a weird little drama you've got going on in your head.

Borini isn't a recognised striker.

Rodgers wanted to add to our goalscoring capabilities. He'd identified a particular player. Naivety is waiting a whole summer to say no to that deal thus leaving us short? Having to apologise for tapping up said player is naivety? Announcing the signing of said player on NESN is naivety?

FSG hire their ideal choice for manager and then fail to back his judgement. What qualifies them to do so? Surely, as an advocate of Rodgers' you would want to see him receive the necessary backing?

I'm sure to be accused of being one sided or biased for asking such questions.

Biased against what? One sided against who? I'm not into sugar coating things that I see are wrong. I'd like to think I have healthy scepticism and justly so. Surely that is a basic responsibility for a football supporter in this day and age?

He was described as the "modern day Duncan Ferguson" on MOTD, must be heart breaking for the lad to be associated with that shit cunt. He's better than Ferguson but still holds nowhere near enough talent to be here.

Carroll makes Ferguson look like Oliver Bierhoff.

Just putting it out there (i don't know the answer either) but, has it occurred to those defending Carroll (really, defending Kenny), that perhaps Kenny didn't particularly rate Carroll either? After all, he didn't start him in the FA Cup final and i certainly can't remember him starting all of the 9 games that Suarez missed due to the suspension.

I thought Carroll wasn't being played because Kenny knew he was going to be sold (same with Maxi, Kuyt and perhaps Bellamy). We wanted to keep him fit, knowing that he was going to the Euros, and after that he'd be in the summer transfer window. So Kenny used him sparingly. I'm not sure whether Kenny rated him or not.

Carroll has been very good for West Ham even if he has not scored a lot of goals.

Player ratings from Whoscored.com , we have two players in the top 20 and both are rated better than Carroll, the next Liverpool player on this list is Glen Johnson at 23.

Rodgers arrived and announced everyone would get a chance to prove themselves. Then proceeded not to give Carroll that chance. His prerogative, but open to justified criticism.

Acccording to Dave, Ngoo looks set to suffer the same fate.

That's fair enough but you dont know what his attitude in training was like. He may be looking a bit of a hypocrite but I dont blame him one bit for letting him go.

hahaha, Andy Carroll has been better than Leighton Baines, Juan Mata, Glen Johnson and Dimitar Berbatov this season?

Code's opening line was unintentional genius. Sums up Carroll's defenders' main arguments, he's a striker which doesn't score but this is offset by the fact he's occasionally 'put himself about'.

How do you like your eggs in the mornin', I like my strikers with goals.

No idea what the stats above tell anyone.

I don't think Carroll is shit, nor will he ever be worth 35 Million obviously. He's a still developing at the top level, awesome in the air but rest of game needs working on striker. He will have a reasonably good career, score some goals and win some England caps.

And isn't quite good enough for us. If we resigned him in 4 years time as an 'option' for 7 million, I wouldn't be gutted, but the fact is he will always be a £35 million striker for us at the moment, so he needs a fresh start somewhere else without that ridiculous tag which he will never justify.

Eden Hazard 23rd (significantly below Michael Williamson?), Ryan Nelsen just one place above Theo Walcott. I mean, Code, really? Vincent Kompany in 59th, one place below Nathan Baker of Aston Villa.

But yeah, Carroll is terrific.

Dont let your subjective opinions blind you to objective reality.

Kompany has been fuckin shite most season by the way so I'm surprised to see him that high.

Very interesting stats, I was particularly taken by the one which shows that Carroll makes an average of 3.3 clearances per game, which is twice as many as any other forward.

It ties in to something I was saying on the MF about the number of goals we're conceding from set pieces, and how Carroll used to get his head to a lot of those.

Of course, strikers don't get bonus points on Fantasy Football for clean sheets so therefore "Carroll's shit", apparently.

Even for those who like him, I cant see any reason why he can be regarded as the 13th best player in the country this season. Mind boggling.

SD is pretty much bang on in this thread, If I hadnt negged him for being a cunt somewhere else down the line I would have repped him.

A lot of the mistakes on this thread and subject in paticular are there are only two sets of views. Your either with Carroll or agains him.

And yes he looks shit with short hair.

You have filtered them appearance related.

If you look at all players and take out those with less than 10 games Carroll is 10th.

I haven't filtered anything, that's how it shows up. Still, I see you're filtering it to make him go higher. You're trying to make him out to be higher ranked than he is. You and your objective star-gazing. Maybe we should look at signing Sean Morrison, who has a similar return as Carroll.
