Michael Edwards genius largely depends on Eddie Howe being in full time club management

Why? Is that why we bought Robertson, Salah, Mane, Firmino, Gini, Gomez, Coutinho?

What is it about those players that Eddie Howe affected? The £40m we got from Bournmouth is nothing compared to the £140 we got for Coutinho.

Do you not get bored trying to shoehorn criticism of FSG into ever single thread? maxresdefault.thumb.jpg.7b8bfdc8f40c56a395b1d4c0970ea798.jpg

Maybe there's a suspicion of transfer market underachievement for Howe? For the money Bournemouth spent under him you'd want better results than he got. He wasted an awful lot of cash.

Say one thing for the Fonseca appointment, he's used to working with a negative net spend. Shakhtar and Roma both sold more than they spent under him.

In fairness, the Ev have got that boxed off already with Brands.

This is from a Spurs forum. Quite amusing.

Here's the exact timeline of how Fonseca's time at Spurs will go:

  • Our fans will say "we need to get behind him while he's here" and start posting diagrams of his tactical setups at Roma, finding ways to explain why he's actually a genius in disguise and how he is perfect for our squad.

  • We'll have an inconsistent start to the season. People will declare that we need to "give him time" and that loads of the players need to be cleared out before he can possibly be successful.

  • We'll have a short winning run of a few games, playing some good football and he'll say something funny in a press conference. People will start fanboying over him, changing their avatars on here to pictures of him. Spurs fans start piping up in offices, schools and group chats all over the country, declaring big things are coming.

  • We'll struggle for consistency and regularly get outclassed in big games - multiple 3+ goal defeats against the likes of Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd.

  • Get to the latter stages of the Conference League but ultimately the season ends trophyless and we finish outside the top four. People say that "Levy needs to back him this summer" and start putting together fantasy wishlists of players that they want him to sign.

  • We sign a load of players that nobody had ever heard of before we were linked with them. They underperform, he is sacked mid-way through his second season. One or two of them turn out to be ok under the next bloke.

There is not a single thing here that I don't fully expect to happen exactly as it is written.

Rafa would be better off taking the Fiorentina job. The stumbling block that caused Gattuso to walk out after less than a month in the job won't be there, as Rafa is not affiliated to Jorge Mendes. He won't get shit off the Viola fans (unless he proclaims Juventus to be the greatest thing ever). The style of play he can implement is a lot closer to what they are used to compared to the shambles at Everton. Florence is a beautiful place to live, even though his family are still on Merseyside. Being paid less than Everton would pay is the only reason not to prefer that job.

Spurs fans are frothing at the mouth. They’d just about talked themselves into Fonseca but this might be a step too far.

What a shambles of a club. Them and Arsenal went all in on a shiny new stadium, which may help them in the long (looong) run, but absolutely fucks them for the next 10 to 15 years.

Such a shame the blueshite aren't in for him, absolute failure in waiting

It'll be no less funny if Spurs appoint him. Levy doing a fantastic job of painting himself into a corner, only a couple of years or so after he was lauded as being a very shrewd operator. Still, they have that shiny new stadium to attract all the top players, so there's always that.

Levy's doing a great job at fucking spurs over. Sacks his best manager in a generation after the CL final, brings in yesterday's man, sacks him 4 days before a cup final, seemingly decided on Fonseca, changes his mind and goes for gattuso who is one loose cannon?!

What a way to run a club. Mind, they have a swanky brand new stadium, I suppose.

Edit, I forgot about Conte!

Paratici has has an interesting start hasn't he? Couldn't convince Conte to join, pulls out of the Fonseca deal at the last second to get Gattuso instead, who isn't even a good manager.

I’ve not read the articles, but something to do with tax made Fonseca talks breakdown.

Wouldn’t surprise me with the UK tax rate, he’d end up getting paid less than in Rome, asked for the extra Spurs told him to piss off.

It’s a bizarre appointment from Spurs. Surely somebody better is available, even Bobby Brown Shoes.

Apparently Gattuso talks are off as well now , maybe making a last ditch effort to snatch Rafa off the Plebs .

Gattuso for Goodison has a nice little ring to it.
