Noticed there's a fair few wrestling fans on here so I thought I'd set up a thread to discuss best matches, favourite moments etc from WWE, TNA, WCW/ECW, ROH or Indie promotions.

Also, if you're gonna discuss the live shows like Smackdown for instance, use spoilers please.

Anyway to kickstart this thread, my favourite ever match is TLC 2.

Always been a huge fan of Jeff Hardy and this match had me gripped from start to finish. Jeff was at his best here and the spear by Edge is an iconic moment in wrestling.

Also, Brock is fucking ace. That is all.

Abdullah the Butcher.

King Curtis.

And the interviews with Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik were boss. As was Captain Lou Albano's attempted repatriation of George "The Animal" Steele, when Volkoff and Shiek double-crossed and abandoned The Animal in the ring, during a hectic triple tag team encounter.

The video of the Dudley Boyz putting Mae Young through a table and then off the stage gets me every time.

Favourite match is difficult, Mankind vs Undertaker in Hell in a Cell is one that sticks in my mind the most probably. As always the commentary was brilliant when Mankind got put through the top of the cell.

You watch wrestling when you're 10/11/12 before you realise that there's girls outside that make your cock do amazing things. Thankfully when I was that age it was The Rock, Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Triple H and Kane.

All had their arses handed to them by Stone Cold Steve Austin.

That's the bottom line.

WHAT

That was a keeper.

As was a similar long-dropping caged encounter between Taker and Michaels.

Hogan slamming Andre was kind of momentous, if a little round-armed rather than overhead.

And the sight of a bloodied Ric Flair was always a sign of fun and games.

Coz Turds Eye said so.

This is going to end well.
No doubt with ladders, tables, bins made out of tin foil and then after countless two-n-a half counts a disqualification.

Royal Rumble 1992

The 30 man main event, winner becomes champion.

With Bobby Heenan on commentary.

Savage - Warrior

Career ending match

WM VII

Although Warrior "won" he was sacked shortly after and Savage career resurrected 6 months later (ish).

Best there is. Best there was. Best there ever will be.

read his autobiography a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it actually.

Wrestling died along time ago. The product now is piss poor. Its billed as sports entertainment with little of the latter.

I still watch in the hope that a decent match comes up but they're very few and far between.

Best thing about Wrestling are the autobiographies that are released. They generally have everything in them. Some really funny stuff and surprisingly some moving stuff too. You don't have to be into wrestling to enjoy them either because there is that much drama.

Bret's is a very good read

The books by the wrestlers are very entertaining. The lifestyle they had, the women, drink, drugs and then the money. The Hitman was always my favourite, always was, always will be (copyright). Incredible that the journey he had through life (so much family turmoil) almost came to end by cycling without a helmet.

One of my fav stories involved the rockers, a disabled fan and a motorized wheelchair....

Very funny

The Rocks book was the only book that i've read that i thought was piss poor

I'm praying that the Undertaker finally gives in and does one, i wont hold my breath.

Re: The Rocks book

For me it seemed the first half was genuine, sleeping in the back of cars etc.. trying to be a footballer then someone from creative typed like The Rock for the last 100 or so pages. Ric Flair has a story to tell, his book was good.

The Undertakers book may not be as great as it could be, I imagine he'd be very loyal to the business and may not tell revealing stories. Afterall the WWE has been incredibly loyal to him, 1 match a year with 3/4 appearances just before Mania. -Kinda off topic, do you think he will do anymore Mania's if so, will Cena be the man to take streak/ turn heel?

The one I hope for is Vincent Kennedy McMahon.

This would have to be a series of books - be far too much for 1 book. Would be brilliant though.

Flair's was good i agree.

WWE and loyalty - Really??? Undertaker isn't afraid to voice his opinion to Vince(see Montreal screwjob) so don't think he'd be scared of writing a few truths in a book once he's finally retired.

As far as 'taker and Mania - Taker will call the shot on this because he is a huge draw still and WWE will make money off the PPV's bought on the back of his match.

I cannot see his streak ever going.

But if it was decided it was going to be the case I'm sure WWE creative team would balls it up.

I wouldnt like to see Cena and 'Taker anywhere near WM.

they swear and the birds act like pornstars now, not like in my day where miss elizabeth was the epitomy of class!

I used to love it from about 91-95

Started to go down hill in my eyes after the Benoit Murders. The PG era arrived.

1991 - 1994 were great then there was Montreal and as a Hitman fan, felt cheated watching the Shawn Michaels show every week.

Then around 2000 I started watching, attitude era? it just went mental for a number of years. Bizarre stories like HHH shagging Kanes dead girlfriend? buried alive, hell in a cell, TLC, Fatal 4way matches, lesbians, pelvic thrusting insults. Brilliant television.

Regarding Undertaker & Montreal, everyone knew what VKM did was wrong, perhaps himself, he just had that 1% doubt that Bret would take the WWF(E) title to WCW,... and shat it
