Guest Numero Veinticinco

Two options. 1) Bring him back, play him in Carling Cup games, early rounds of the FA Cup, and as back up to the top two strikers. 2) Cash in off the back of a really good season on loan, then reinvest in somebody who has a higher ceiling of potential, but can play the above role in the interim period.

Either works for me. Either way makes thebsquad stronger. If it would get us somebody like Vietto, I'd favour option 2. Even if it meant selling Aspas at a loss to complete the deal.

Yep.

Or loan him again, as he seems to be developing well with regular games.

But I don't know the stats.

6 in open play I read last night.

Im in agreement with you, though. Sunderland will want him, they will probably give us the majority of our money back and it's best for both parties that he goes.

He may get games here next season, but it will be the odd game here or there. That will be no good to us though because as has been proven in his time at Roma and during this loan spell, he needs a run of games. He isnt an impact sub.

The same goes for Aspas and Moses too. I dont think he'd be an upgrade on them off the bench.

Keep Suarez. Keep Suarez. Keep Saurez.

Konoplyanka in for Moses.

Borini back in for Aspas.

That's solid improvement and real depth in an already sparkling attack.

Still doesnt improve our real problems though does it?

Being linked with more attacking options before defensive ones,i hope thats just paper talk.

The way the Premier League is at the moment, there are only 2 ways to be successful.

1 - Spend £500m on players in a couple of seasons.

2 - Attack from the outset and blow teams away.

We can't do the first, so the second is the only viable way for us to challenge again next season (not to mention the most fun)

There is a balance to be had,as i mentioned earlier and im sure we could find one that suits ourselves.

Money is also not an instant success buyer but of course it helps massively.

Shows how well we have done this year when you look at Man City's progression since they won the lottery

2008 - the oil money landed.

Their finishes since it did

2008/9 - 10th - Spent £127m

2009/10 - 5th - Spent £125m

2010/11 - 3rd - Spent £155m

2011/12 - 1st - Spent £76m

2012/13 - 2nd - Spent £54m

2013/14 - Probably 1st - Spent £103m

In those 6 seasons they have only got over 80 points twice - and assuming they get 86 points this year average 73 pts a season.......

In the 3 seasons before their lottery win they finished 15th, 14th and 9th and spent £59m in 3 years.

I'm not sure why we couldn't simply sub off one of Suarez or Sturridge when the game is either in hand with a comfortable lead or it is in the balance and a change / fresh legs are required. So whilst he might be only getting 20-30 minute spells in league games, he would be able to play cup games and rotate with midweek European games.

He was found short of a gallop and injured in his first season. He has rectified both at Sunderland and shown he has some fight in him, being one of their most crucial players in the near-miraculous escape from relegation.

He's a keeper (not a 'keeper.)

People do realise Borini has had 4 starts this season as a centre forward?  All his other starts have been as a wide player or behind the front man.

I'm sure some do Dan, they just prefer not to acknowledge that fact

This makes it worse, poyet would rather have altidore up front then borini.

Hes not good enough to come in for either of the sas if they are out and he is at a stage where he needs to play every week to keep developing which is not going to happen here.

It would be a bad move keeping him next season Imo, it will hurt his development and his value will not be as high as it will be this summer.
