That's a good point, Frankenhooker, which highlights the fact we can't attract or afford the best players anymore doesn't it.

So, assuming FSG realise they need to release some big money in the transfer window.... who is available that would sign for us ?

I'm wracking my brain.....

I have a funny feeling if they do pony up the cash in January.

Whoever we end up buying, its not going to please everybody.

We're not going to be able to attract a huge name, regardless of whether its January or Summer time, we're too far down the pecking order at the minute for any top players to want to come here.

So we're probably going to have to gamble on someone.

Massive chance for Morgan and Yesil.

personally in the games where Luis is available I think Pacheco should take Borini's place in the squad, however if Suarez is unavailable for whatever reason it should be Morgan or Yesil as Pacheco isn't suited to being a lone striker at all but I think he can do a job as on of the wide forwards

Lewandowksi and Cavani = cloud cuckoo land. 2 of the best strikers in the world.

Agreed. Dries Mertens has been mentioned. Not an out and out finisher, but would add to our attack. If Damiao would have joined Spurs, there's nothing to say we couldn't take a look at him. Next big thing. Then there's Walcott. We're in with a reasonable chance with players like that, hopefully.

Wasn't Damiao the rumour on deadline day but we wouldn't cough up enough? I think we'd have got Walcott in the summer if we'd gone for it but Arsenal have been a lot better than expected and although I believe Brendan will get it right I think this season is a write off and I don't think he is the sort of forward we need either

Lewandowski is not one of the best strikers in the world. And I say that as a part-time Polish and Lech Poznan fan.

He's very talented, but I have my doubts about his mentality. I can see him joining a big club in the next year or two, flopping, and ending up back in Poland a few years later...

Smacked in 30 goals last year. Already playing for the best side in Germany. I'd say he's doing well. If we're talking about form, he's up there with most of the top strikers.

He oozes quality. And he has a record to back it up.

Estimates are 2-3 months

Ouch.

The below are the strikers I have availible in our fantasy manager league, this will not end up well.

Basically I have Torres and Balotelli and I'm fucked until January when Falcao will come in and save my arse.

28. Fabio Borini

29. Fernando Torres

30. Mario Balotelli

31. Michael Owen

32. Kenwyne Jones

33. Roque Santa Cruz

34. Hulk

35. Falcao

36. Higuain

From adversity comes ....?

Here you go Morgo and Yesil, young players dont get many chances in this division, so you've got to grab it with both hands if you want it.

This isn't a crisis for Liverpool, this is an opportunity for the young lads to show us we're stronger in attack than we initally thought.
