Great Documentaries

Watched a documentary on BT Sport last night (one of those 30 for 30 ones) called 'The Two Escobars', it was about the drug cartels in Columbia & the shooting of Andres Escobar after the World Cup in '94.

Well worth a watch if you can get a look at it.

Where’ve you been, Mook? People have been talking about that documentary on here for as long I’ve been on the forum.

This won a BAFTA tonight.  Quite right too.  Every cunt who has ever voted Tory or UKIP should be forced to watch it.

Here's the follow-up series.  Again, every cunt who ever read a Daily Heil should be forced to watch this, with their eyes rigged open like Alex in A Clockwork Orange.

Once you've watched these, if you feel the need to do something positive, then Asylum Link are always in need of dough or volunteers.

Anyone like murder documentaries?  This one is fuckin' nuts!  I don't think he would get away with it for so long in this day and age.

I think I've seen that. Completely mental.

Another "good" murder one is Tales of the Grim Sleeper, by Nick Broomfield - mind boggling.

In general, you get some decent docs on the BBC iplayer under the Storyville heading. I watched one on there the other day about Patty Hearst - another completely bonkers tale.

95% of the Storyville docs are superb. I was thinking about starting a Storyville thread a while back but it’s hard to find links to a lot of the ones that stick in the memory.

For anyone into murder documentaries, there’s a series on A&E called ‘The First 48’ which is great. It’s not a new thing by any means, there’s been about 17 series of it. It’s a really underrated show though. Pretty gruesome at times too.

Yeah, they really are. They come and go a lot on the iPlayer. I remember watching one about Bigfoot hunters on there a while back (it's not there now). It was an absolute hoot. The Pussy Riot one on there now is quite interesting, as is Leaving the Cult and the one about the Pink Panthers. Another one that's not on now that I really liked was the one about Kasparov and the computer chess (Blue something?).

Seen all of them. I gave Shooting Bigfoot a 10/10 in this thread.

I watched this last night. It's a Storyville documentary but I haven't laughed that much at anything on TV for a long time. You can watch it here...

Incredible. 10/10

It could quite easily be mistaken for a spoof.

Cartel Land is another great one. There was one a few years ago about Chinese kids being put into prison for internet addiction which was pretty shocking.

Yeah, that's it. Hilarious. Those two loons making those crazy noises to call out the Bigfoot - brilliant. Though they were just harmless eejits. Some of the other guys were complete bellends. I'm still not entirely sure what happened at the end.

Haven't seen those other two.

Murder on a Sunday Morning is another good one, another wtf story.

Have a look for that Cartel Land, mate. It’s been released on its own away from the Storyville banner and has been pretty successful by all accounts. I know for a fact you can find it on Kodi, TerrariumTV and similar apps.

I'll keep an eye out for it, cheers.

Watched a decent one on Film 4 the other week too - Precinct 75 - about corrupt NYC cops in the 80s. Another crazy tale

This one?

I watched that too. It was very good.

This is my problem of late. I only really watch telly when I get in bed of a night so my first instinct is to find a documentary that I can nod off to. Most of them are really good though so I’m still lay there wide awake an hour and a half later.

Unreported World on 4OD is a good one for short interesting docs. Loads of them on there.

I’m missing everything else, still not caught up with the latest series of Narcos, Peaky Blinders and a few others.
