Read a betting article suggesting that a possibly lucrative option is looking at England's top scorer market. They point out that we may score very few goals & that Upson was joint top scorer at the last World Cup.

I found Lescott at 66/1 and had a fiver on it.

Don't ever bet on footie but that's a very good shout.

You could easily see England doing something like 0-0, 1-1, and losing 1-3. That means only 2 goals in the tournament, and you have to think the odds that someone like Lescott scores one of them, while still low, have to be better than 66/1.

France for me. easiest group to get through and playing fucking well.

Russia as an outside bet.

keep changing my mind though.

uefa will fucking defo blame all racism and violence at the euro's on luis suarez.

England in a major international tournament with Roy at the helm - this could go the kind of wrong they write books about. I'm looking forward to it.

The under/over on the first thread bitching about commentators/pundits is 4 games.

I'm not a betting man, but I wouldn't go for the obvious players to score the first goal of the tournament, simply based on recent history (ie, the last 10 years) which is as follows:

2002 - Pape Bouba Diop (Senegal v France)

2004 - Giorgios Karagounis (Greece v Portugal)

2006 - Philipp Lahm (Germany v Costa Rica)

2008 - Vaclav Sverkos (Czech Republic v Switzerland)

2010 - Siphiwe Tshabalala (South Africa v Mexico)

All of whom would have had long odds on being the first goalscorer. On that basis, if I had to choose the first goalscorer, I'd go for Maciej Rybus of Poland.

Now watch as somebody much more obvious like Lewandowski or Gekas gets the first!

loud & clear "YNWA" & "Steve Gerrard" from polish LFC supporters @ England's training earlier today.

I can't stand euro so I'm leaving Warsaw for vacation in some more quiet place.

So you not waiting for Howard Webb to be involved in a game in Poland then. I dont expect him to comeback to England if he does have a game in Poland.
