Where are we at with this campaign??

It has been going on almost 9 years to the day.

Protest March is scheduled for next Monday night...

It’s taken a while to round the forums finest together but here’s Beef Stroganoff and his troops...

The problem is, I'm sure last year they were saying that Jones was Lallana's replacement.

I was fine with that idea. Lallana wasn't playing much anymore, so it made sense to replace him with Jones, who'd showed lots of glimpses of potential.

Wijnaldumis a first team regular. Has Jones done enough to show that he deserves to be selected week in week out? Not for me? He should still only be regarded as a squad player for now.

If you were just assuming that Keita and Chamberlain were going to come good, numerically we'd be fine with Jones getting the game time Lallana would have had. And then Thiago would replace Wijnaldum and we wouldn't need anyone else.

The obvious problem with that is that Keita and Ox won't come good, so a midfielder should be bought to replace one of them. And then eventually we need to sign someone to replace Milner.

Wijnaldum has been easily our most reliable midfielder in terms of being fit and available - him leaving would absolutely need a replacement bring in.

Hard to see how we would not be leaving ourselves exposed if we didn't.

Stylisitically it may be a chance to change things up a touch with someone a bit more forward thinking, but that is another debate.

Would you not say the signing of Thiago was the change? Seems to me he was brought in because he offers what Wjinaldum doesn't.

Lovren and Lallana were both on £100,000 a week and left in June. Just read an article saying Liverpool could sell a load of fringe players or players coming to the end of their contracts. Even before Matip and Keita who are on the same as Lallana and Lovren were.

We seem to have quite a lot of players who just seem to hang on until their contracts expire but are happy to sit their contracts out. Hopefully with a lot of them expiring in the summer the wage bill will go down.

Disappointing if we're not giving contracts to a couple of those and missing out on the opportunity to field The Hardy Boy(e)s.

Wijnaldum - gone - free

Shaqiri - two years left - may go as I think the little fella wants to play

Origi - three years, not going anywhere

Davies - who?

Arroyo - who?

Larouci - out of contract - gone - free

Karius - out of contract - gone - free

Woodburn - one year left - loan - not sure we get a fee for this fella

Grujic - two years left - loan - fee

Wilson - gone - free

Ojo - gone - free

Adrian - gone - free

Awoniyi - gone - free

Barbara - who?

Millar - didn't he sign a new contract?

Not alot of wages saved there other than Wiji and the two senior keepers is there?

No transfer value in that entire lot outside of maybe 12-15 for either Shaq or Origi

Wilson, Grujic, Awonuyi are not free! There is £20m there.

Yea you right mate - thought the rest of that list were out of contract.

Reckon we could get something for Wilson.

No one has wanted Grujic - including the teams he has been loaned to. He will get loaned again, small fee.

Awoniyi will need another loan as I don't think Union Berlin as a club is worth 20 mil.

I wouldn't no.

And Thiago has done nothing yet to support such an argument...albeit he only played so far in a broken team.

Also have doubts/questions about a midfield 3 of Fabinho and two 31 year olds with questionable fitness records in Henderson and Thiago.
