Like everything this will just polarise the fans, those FSG fanboys will come up with valid logical reasons for not buying someone and the FSG haters will call them negligent if we don't buy someone.

 

I don't accept we, as a club, don't have a list of players we would be happy to buy the question is value for money and that is where the narrative splits, how value for money is seen. 

Don't pay mad money now, lose out on league and CL but get someone in the summer who gives a great chance of both for 5 years. 

Buy someone now, retain title but have to sell in summer and lose chance of long term dynasty.

Ive been called an FSG fanboy in the past but failure to buy a centre half in January, whatever quality, is a failure somewhere in the chain. 
 

It can’t be dressed up any other way. 
 

Who that player is, I’ve no idea. But given our current transfer success record, whether it’s another VVD world record blockbuster or an undervalued star, I’m comfortable those making the decisions know what they are doing.
