It's just a PR stunt to make the fans think we were in for a player when we weren't really. They never mentioned him up until now but because some of our fans are getting pissed off that we haven't signed anyone. 

 

Now this comes out making out we did look at a player but he didn't fit the clubs stringent criteria so they look "clever" but still end up not signing anyone.

The problem with the centre back thing is it's not about playing time during a season, cause we all know Matip and  Gomez will get injured. It's about, in the summer, when we're talking to agents and they see the squad, and they see we have three centre backs that Klopp trusts, does that mean we can't guarantee playing time to those players? The answer to that as long as Gomez and Matip are here is yes, we can't guarantee anything, because Klopp like all three and they are proven commodities when fit.

 

That's why we ultimately will have to sell one of Gomez or Matip, or even better we could fucking sign someone right now, when we have no actual fucking centre backs! How about that!

If (as is understandable i suppose) we can't get our top target who i would imagine we have already identified now, who will be our long term partner for/successor to VVD, then surely we could get someone who is capable and can play now and would be competing as No.3/4 next season.
