I was in Morecambe a couple of weeks ago and I met a bloke who'd just done that the other way round.  He looked knackered.

I'm not surprised. Some of the hills are hard work. Especially around Grange Over Sands.  I was hoping to do it all on Thursday but just didn't have enough time/daylight. I'm hoping to go to Barrow next week and hope to get to Grange. Looks like I'll have to wait till next year to to it all in one go.

  • 2 weeks later...

Back on the bike today, 6 miles in 29.30. 42/17-19-21 most of the time.

My knees seemed quite surprised at the activity for about 10 mins but after that were fine. No Achilles reaction either.

Forgotten how firm a saddle can be !

You'll be measuring up for head to toe Lycra in no time!

If you're anything like me you may find your knees burn / ache for a day or two if you've not been on the bike for a while but it will sort itself out.

Good to hear about the achilles and sorry to hear about your arse. A good saddle and padded shorts are your new best friends

Information warning update.

75 year old fathers do not like being in the vicinity of hybrid bikes in the garden when the fucking back tyre decides to go the same way of the cunting front tyre.

So, that's two brand new Armadillo tyres on the hybrid today and both tubes with slime in them have blown.

Just to add. When buying new tyres for your bike and the shop assistant asks 'would you like any inner tubes' be sure to answer yes. This will prevent the need to go and buy new inner tubes tomorrow.

Are you adding the slime or buying slime inner tubes?

Adding in the hybrid. It cant be done on the road bike valves. Why, does it make a difference ? I don't think I'll be adding any more after today.

I never heard of adding it until people on here mentioned it. I've only ever used pre- treated Slime inner tubes. Adding it yourself sounds far too much like hard work to me
