Next to bacon and just behind root vegetables cheese is wonderful. If I ever found myself on death row in Texas I would order 6 slices of thick cut bacon cooked in the oven at 350C sprinkled with pepper and brown sugar, a cheese board of my choice and roasted beets, parnsips and carrots.

 

Just had some Gouda. Then nipped back to the fridge and went with a sharpish old cheddar from Canada and finished with a Cambozola. Washed down with a South African Shiraz.

 

At Christmas you can't beat a cheese board.

Had half a wheel of sensational soft blue over lunch yesterday with Coronas and Chardonnay (it was a hot day, 30 Celsius)... later in the evening, Mrs was peckish, so I made us 3 bits of toast each with a Jarslberg base, then generously sprinkled with cheddar and under the grill... washed down with more Chardonnay and a bottle of Champagne.

 

And that was in addition to all the Good Friday Seafood. Right greedy cunt I was yesterday.

Try Lamb and blue cheese cannonballs.

 

Make a big lamb mince meatball with a good sized cube of blue cheese in the middle. Roll in egg yolk and bread crumb. Deep fry or oven. Lamby cheezy oozy loveliness
