my only supermarket in the area has now implemented it's tobacco advertising ban by closing the shutters to the fag counter. I now have no idea whats in stock and the assistant was noticeably pissed off having to open these doors all day long. It's ok though for our children to see aisles of booze though?

Ours has too. It's a brilliant idea. How to make something unattractive to young people? Put it behind closed shutters so they can't see it. Gives it an air of forbidden mystery and exclusivity. Young people hate shit like that.

I gave up about 18 months ago and was off the ciggys for about 4 months and then went on holiday and started again thinking I could just smoke when I felt like it rather than full time, before I knew it a couple of ciggys here and there and I was back smoking again.

 

Day 1 of giving up properly today.

Must say one thing, although I don't miss not being able to breath properly and stinking like an ashtray, I do miss rolling a fag and bizarrely smoking it after.

Not too much of cravings but did it on champix which was superb but I've been off them for a week now too.

No weird dreams (gutted) and no rapid weight gain but I think that's alot more to do with your friends eating habits while giving up rather than the drugs. You could help by explaining to them that they should stop shoving food in their mouth and the weight gain will surprisingly stop.

It's a breeze now... Thanks for checking in! Feels a lot longer than a month though.. We are planning on going to Spain for a few days in June and that will be the real test but won't make the mistake like last time and think I can smoke only on holiday...

Quite. My mate gave up last month and gives a running commentary on how many days she's gone. Every time I go out for a smoke she comes with me and bums one. She said "it's over a month now since I've bought any". No, but you've had 3 of mine in the last 2 hours you crab's arse.

If it wasn't for Alcohol I would never smoke again. I never think of smoking any other time in my life other than when I drink... when am pissed something clicks in my head and before I know it I've smoked 20 marleys and waking up the next morning feeling like shit. It takes me days to get over it then I do it again the next weekend.
