Documentary on Netflix called "Last Chance U" that came out on Friday. It is excellent and I imagine the vast majority of people who liked FNL will like it, too.

Agree with those who've said the film is better than the TV series. The first series is decent, but nothing more than that in my opinion. There are times it's very good, but other times it's not much more than The OC with a bit of American football (which becomes even more rare as the series progresses). The adults are the best thing in it, and Connie Britton is hot. But it's not go-out-of-your-way-to-watch TV.

 

Like I said, the film is better (as good as Kyle Chandler is as the series' coach, Billy Bob Thornton rules the film), and the original novel - from which both film and TV drama evolved - is even more interesting.

Nah they don't but it's still a big deal, especially in Texas. It isn't unusual to see high school games on the telly either.

 

Hard to imagine really when you think back to playing footy for your school and you'd be lucky to have a few people watching.

Yeah college is a different story. The big house beats everything, think they had 114k for a game there last year.

 

So, favourite character for this show? If it's someone that comes up in later seasons probably best to put nsfw tags around it.

 

For me it's Buddy, he's an annoying idiot but I can't help but like him. He might be a grower as initially I just thought it was cunt.

Much of the show was filmed a few miles from where I live. I liked the movie more, and liked the movie soundtrack even more than the movie. Explosions in the Sky are fantastic. High school football here is like a religion, more so in the smaller towns though. It is shoved in your face non stop when you grow up here.
