And there are a couple of rumours on the web now. But don't forget, it was me who broke the news on here first.

I reckon that's all mixed up and he's going to sign for Everton, who originally wanted him. They've just lost Rodwell, whereas we've just signed Allen and probably Sahin, I don't think it's physically possible to have any more central midfielders here.

He plays like Jay Jay Okocha, which although entertaining, isn't a Rodgers signing I think.

Liverpool will sell Charlie Adam for a knockdown £5million - and Everton boss David Moyes is poised to make a sensational move for him.

Scotland midfielder Adam is being offered around behind the scenes because he will not be a starter under new Kop boss Brendan Rodgers, just a year after predecessor Kenny Dalglish bought him from Blackpool for £9m.

The fee is being flashed to other clubs and Moyes is keen to land the midfield maestro at the second attempt.

Moyes wanted his fellow Scot before he was priced out of his range and still rates the former Rangers schemer highly - although he is looking into the potential pitfalls of buying Adam.

It is very rare for a Liverpool player to be sold directly to Everton - Gary Ablett was the last, 20 years ago - and it would be a major issue for any deal.

Moyes has been sounding out confidantes about the potential public reaction.

However, the low asking price and Adam's undoubted ability make the move attractive to Moyes, who is looking to spend his windfall from the £15m sale of Jack Rodwell to Manchester City earlier this week.

Moyes could well have the inside track on the deal as his brother, Kenny, is Adam's agent.

The word is that the player would have no problem with a transfer to Goodison.

Adam hoped to be part of the Rodgers revolution, but growing talk of him being mentioned in possible swap deals and his absence from the starting XI in either leg of Liverpool's Europa League tie against FC Gomel make his exit look more likely.

Midfield maestro?

Was doing a bit of thinking on the throne.

Any chance Sahin is coming as a replacement for Agger? Agger then goes to City with Johnson coming in part exchange with money in the bank?

I'd say there's no chance of that.

Sahin is a midfielder, an extremely gifted one at that, why would he come in to be used as a central defender...

Madrid convinces the Turk that the Reds are the best option

Sahin has one foot in Liverpool

J. CASTRO / J. I. GARCÍA-OCHOA. Madrid08/16/2012

Liverpool is edging out Arsenal in the chase for Nuri Sahin, whose future could be resolved should Luka Modric finalise his switch to Real Madrid.

For 'Los Blancos', the Croat's arrival will necessarily go hand in hand with the exit of one of its midfielders – the future of Kaká is an unrelated issue – and the man in question will be Nuri Sahin, who gave the thumbs-up to a possible move to the Reds over the last few hours.

Liverpool wasn't Sahin's first choice, as his preference was to go to Arsenal, whose manager, Arsène Wenger, has been trying to sign him for years. The French manager originally tried to capture him following his breakthrough year at Borussia Dortmund, and renewed contact with the midfielder a few months ago after Mourinho opened the door for the Turkish playmaker to seek out pastures new.

This begs the question: why is Liverpool ahead of Arsenal for his signature? A number of factors have turned things around over the last few hours. The man in each club's dugout has played a decisive role in this case. While there is no love lost between Mou and Wenger, the Madrid supremo is a close friend of Liverpool tactician Brendan Rodgers.

Acting in his role as an English-style manager, Mourinho has been in constant contact with Rodgers over the last few weeks, thrashing out the details of the loan deal.

...Liverpool wasn't Sahin's first choice, as his preference was to go to Arsenal...

Yeah, yeah.

IF we sign him, you can guarantee at his first press conference we will hear him say something along the lines of "..as soon as I heard Liverpool were interested, there was only one club I wanted to go to..."
