They have Messi, Rodriguez, Sanchez, Afelley, Tello, Cuenca, Gerard (can't remember how to spell his last name... Deufelou or somethign), etc. all in the SAME position.

They need to get rid of one or two... easily.

Yeah your right but they had the same last season (well don't know anything about Deufelou other than we were linked other day) but still managed to give Tello and Cuenca decent game time, albeit Afelley was injured, thought they'd get rid of him first to be honest even though he is a bloody good player too!

either way if we get Tello out of it who cares!

@GetLFCNews Tello interest is serious. That loan deal is closer than Sahin.

@GetLFCNews but LFC are pursuing loan deals for both Sahin and Tello.

Ben Smith knows a bit. Really hope we get Nuri, Tello would be a decent option but not all that fussed.

Tello's a bit young to be taking for a year without an option to buy. Shopping in the bargain bucket basement now for the most needed position is exactly why I didn't want the majority of our budget blown on an unneeded area.

So far we've spent 20 odd million and managed to weaken the squad. Time will tell if the first XI is any better.

I've been trying to figure out those sources who seem to be realy in the know since FSG have taken over, and The Times (Henderson and co. last year), Telegraph (Borini) and Guardian (Rodgers) are the only ones who've got it right more often than not. So, the fact that two out of these three are reporting interest in Tello, Sahin and a new contract for Skrtel is sure to get me some wet dreams tonight.

You must have finished polishing that shotgun by now...

Problem is Spurs are after Nuri and will probably insist on a part exchange for Modric.

Same will probably apply for Tello, who Arsenal want, with Song going the other way.

Has Tello signed a new deal? He only had 12 months on his contract so can't see a loan deal happening, only a permanent transfer.

Still crying, I see.

We've added two starting XI players, and both are 21/22 years old. How, pray tell, have we managed to weaken the squad?

The only one that could possibly help was Bellamy, and his knees are shot.

Let me outline BBB's reasoning:

1. Rodgers is shit.

2. Therefore, any decision that is made at the club while Rodgers is in charge is shit.

3. Therefore, the decision to sign Allen and Borini, while letting Maxi, Kuyt and Bellamy go is shit.

He doesn't go in for any other reasons beyond that. You'll find Dicko and Strontium Dog apply the same reasoning to everything as well.

These are well down in the outline though - the thesis is the owners are retarded.

If they sell Agger to Man City, the case for that strengthens.

I can almost - almost - see their reasoning if they were selling to an overseas team and not a stronger rival, and Agger himself wanted to go AND we had a good replacement all ready to go.

Unfortunately, none of those things are true.

If Carroll is still here once the window closes and we do manage to get Walcott, and with Downing seemingly going nowhere, it at least allows the option of having wingers on their natural side and putting in crosses, rather than playing on the opposite side and cut in.

That doesn't mean Rodgers is abandoning his principles, etc etc, but if time is running out in a game and other options haven't worked til then, what's wrong with him saying 'fuck it, just go for it'.

Nothing at all wrong with having it available to you if the cattle are there to implement it. It might not be his ideal situation, but you can only work with what you have available.

I like Agger but if we could replace him with

attackers of Johnson & Walcott's quality, I'd be happy.

Yup sell our best defender and hope that we score more goals with those two decent players. We're talking about wingers here not a poacher up front. Bloody hell! What are you thinking?

What next? Sell Gerrard, Pepe and Suarez?

@GuillemBalague: Morning. Liverpool feel they have done enough to convince Sahin but nothing confirmed yet. Madrid want a resolution this week

@GuillemBalague: Liverpool favourites to get Tello on loan. If they offer enough they could buy him. Atletico Madrid second favourites. One doubt...

@GuillemBalague: .... Tello is shy and not convinced yet about moving abroad. His agent and Barcelona trying to meet today or tomorrow

@GuillemBalague: Xabi Alonso will continue at Real Madrid. The regular rumours about a return to Liverpool have got no foundations

Tello AND Sahin?

What a brilliant transfer window that would be, however Arsenal are rumored to be in for both players:

Brendan Rodgers is eager to sign wide men in this transfer window, and has been looking towards La Liga for reinforcements who will sit comfortably in his system.

An interest has been registered in Tello, although not for the first time this summer Liverpool find themselves competing directly with Arsenal for the same signature.

Both clubs have also been pursuing Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin, with Arsène Wenger hoping a higher bid in terms of a season-long loan fee - and the additional attraction of Champions League football - will attract the Turk to London rather than Merseyside.

Rodgers has been utilising his good relationship with Jose Mourinho, for whom he worked at Chelsea, in an effort to secure a deal for Sahin. The Turkish midfielder is expected to decide on his destination this week.

Arsenal also have the advantage with Tello, 21, because Barcelona are interested in Alex Song, allowing for negotiations on a possible player exchange. A permanent deal would cost around £7 million.

Maxi, Kuyt and Bellamy gone. You keep pretending only having Borini and yet another cm strengthens the squad.

20m to weaken the squad.

Happy to lose out on Tello if we get Şahin.

Well there has been activity in both those positions, center mid and winger.

We just signed Allen and Borini, arguably both work in those corresponding positions.

If we sign both Tello and Sahin, I expect a bit of a rotation policy to be implemented by Buck in the coming season; much like what Rafa employed during his time here.
