He looked quite good the few times I saw him for CSKA. Don't know how he's done in Italy though. Better bet than Elia in my view but my sample size for either player is hardly exhaustive.

Could be an inspired signing as we need pace, but it does seem a bit odd that we're being linked given Rodgers' talk of everyone working extra hard to win the ball back when not in possession.

Its quite obvious that someone has made that up in an attempt to make Adam look shitter than he actually is. If a midfielder could only manage 4 succesful tackles all season then he wouldn't be a professional footballer, let alone playing in the premier league.

A tackle is where you touch the ball on the ground - any foul where you don't touch the ball, or a foul on a challenge for a header for example would not be tied to a tackle.

The explanation is that a foul is marked as a statistical event separate from a tackle. In other words, you can tackle, or you can foul, but you can't do both in one action.

 

He had 62 clean tackles, and then 58 fouls (whether attempted tackles, uses of the arm when jumping for aerial balls, etc.). That has to be the only possible explanation for that stat, no?

I read that as for every successful tackle Adam makes, he then concedes a foul, not he attempted 62 tackles.

Dont need stats to tell you Adam's shit defensively, your eyes will tell you that.

 

It wouldn't be a problem if he could regain some of the form that earned him his move here.
