Seeing as we are discussing players that we would like to see signed, I think Loic Remy from what I have seem (admittedly litlle) and read of him could fit in very well.

I think he would suit playing on the right of a front three, and add some pace and directness that we are sometimes missing, and could also be used as the central striker if needed, killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Suarez, Carroll and Remy would have a bit of everything.

A 1 in 2 striker who Spurs are looking at for £20m. Go get him Brendan!!

I'm happy with that! We need a physical presence, someone who can do a Momo type job alongside other players.

I think we need a bit of energy and a physical presence in the midfield, but I want the money spent at the top end of the pitch, as Silverlining said that is where we need to make the biggest difference.

I thought we looked at Remy 2 seasons ago and then passed because there were concerns about his health. There was talk of him going to an English club (Stoke?) but then it never happened.

he's alright but just don't see any point in it to be honest, if we wern't going to get someone who was genuinely going to be able to compete with Lucas for his place I'd rather just keep Jay

Spearing is shit, sorry I realise that is sacrilegious for some, but he is far from good enough. Diamme will compete far better than Spearing and offer far more. In Europe especially, I think he would be a perfect compliment for Shelvey (sitting), allowing Lucas, Gerrard and Henderson to be fit for the majority of the premiership (meaning Lucas and Gerrard with Henderson as cover!)

Idealy I would like £15m spent on Inler, but I don't think we have the money to do that, so in the meantime he will do me. I should add, that I think Shelvey showed enough last season to be given a chance as cover for Lucas, he is comfortable on the ball which Rodgers likes.

Guest Numero Veinticinco
That's exactly what we need, a player with proper pace that puts the shits up defenders.

Even Walcott (who is SHIT but lightning quick) causes massive problems for defenders, especially against park-the-bus teams.

Johnson is very, very quick, he can play a bit and he has potential which will never be realised while he's sitting on the bench at City. Get him in for the right price.

Walcott is not even close to being shit.

Spearing should be shown the door. He's awful and has no physical presence. Diamme is a lot better backup option and is technically good on the ball as well.

Have to agree with the Spearing bashing I'm afraid. Nice lad, good red etc etc not nearly good enough for us.

I shouldn't use the phrase 'shit' as that is being a bit unfair, he deserves more respect than that. But, he is far from good enough and I don't see any room for him to improve.

He could do a good job with a decent premiership side, and hopefully like N'Gog can bring in upwards of £5m.

I'd be happy with Diame. Someone who will spend a lot of time on the bench (hopefully) and we don't have to watch a championship player run around pointing if Lucas breaks down again.

Jay seems a decent lad. He might even make it at a lower level prem team but no chance at a side with any ambition at all. I go as far as saying he should have left Liverpool a few years ago. Guthrie was and is a better player imo.

There were rumours in January as well.

He had some kind of heart issue, but was cleared to continue playing by specialists. Has played just over 40 games in each of the last 2 seasons

i know some love Jay on here and there is a lot to like about the lad but he is not good enough, it might hurt some but he is not.

As for the Mirror, I doubt anyone knows who we are after, apart from the lad with the long name, who I cannot be arsed trying to spell, think there is legs in that.

thats exactly how I feel about Diame also, I agree Jay isn't good enough for us but I don't think Diame is anything special either so would rather keep the one on cheaper wages who also fills some of the homegrown criteria

having said that I hope if Diame does sign he proves me wrong

Diame is an great option to have as cover for Lucas, and for Europa matches. We need someone with a physical presence that can bully players off the ball, not do karate kicks and point at where he waned the ball to end up.

Rather a Diame on a free and have some extra cash for a winger and striker than burst the entire load on a 27 year old english bloke who feels that a move to Liverpool is what he deserves after spending his life on the peripheries of the english squad.
