... is for life, not just for Christmas.

I've been listening to her quite a bit lately. She's just wonderful and deserves her own thread.

It was, she died in 2000 I think. I actually shed tears when I found out she'd died and not ashamed to admit it. A top, top professional, extremely talented too. Producers used to love working with her as her ability to get harmonics right first time on backing vocals was almost unique. "Kite" is one of my favourite albums.

You knew really didn't you??

Pete Seegar, John Martyn etc? English folk? A whole new world to investigate, Vlad!

Fascinating. I genuinely didnt know of him at all in all honesty.

I'm not a music officianado,I just like and admire certain writers, singers and groups without knowing much about their history.

I know you like your Dylan and S&G, Vlad - American folk is excellent.

But British folk: Ewan MacColl, Nick Drake, Pentangle etc, all worth a listen.

Need to spread before I can rep AoT for this thread. This 3CD collection is well worth getting hold of (even more so if you can find it cheaper than that).

Here's a couple more videos, anyway:

'There's A Guy Works Down The Chipshop Swears He's Elvis'

'Walking Down Madison'

This will be one of my funeral songs.I might choose the Kinks version but they are both cracking versions.
