RK is 100% correct on the supermarket thing, bollocks to that. The Gentleman Jack really is worth the money.

Anyone had Johnnie Walker? Fancy trying it but can't get my head around all the colour coded shit.

I used to be partial to JW Black Label years ago, nice drop. Maybe try in the pub before 'investing' in a bottle

I had a bit of a tasting session round at my mates (he's got his own bar, the flash cunt)

As far as I can remember, the red is run of the mill scotch, not up to much. The black label is the one to go for for general drinking. He also had a green label (quite peaty, more like a single malt) and a blue label which was astonishingly good but also astonishingly expensive.

I'm not a huge whisky drinker, but I have developed a taste for it over the past few years.

I always drink JD on nights out nowadays, love the stuff.

My old man is a big supper of whiskey, especially malts. He always has it neat. I often join him but I've got to admit I do find it quite harsh to taste, especially if I'm not already leathered when I get on to it, but i'll always sup it with him anyway to save face!

Anyway, and we bought him a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label for his birthday last year which if I remember rightly was around 150quid a bottle. He has only had the odd shlurp out of it, saved for special occasions. I had a glass with him the other week. My word, absolutely stunning. So smooth, and very warming as you drank it without the harshness of a cheaper drop. You could definitely taste what you were paying for, I'd deffo recommend the stuff even for those not overly keen on whiskey.

I've only ever tasted JD and Jim Bean White label of all the bourbons and Glenmorangie is the only single malt I've ever tasted.

I would love to expand my taste in Bourbons and Single Malts but I wouldnt know where to start.

Anny really knows his shit he'll be the man to ask.

My advice pick up a bottle on the fortnight/monthly shop and work your way though then at your own leisure, once you know what you like then start specialising a bit more.

We could set up some sort of TLW whisky society. I get the stuff at trade cost price and would be happy to send them out at cost. How we would do it I have no idea but it's an idea.
