My mate teaches IT and that's coming to an end in six months so he's worried about that. He said they want them to teach programming or some shit, but the kids he teaches can't sit still for longer than 30 seconds at a time. They just don't think things through, they come out with sweeping policy decisions and have no idea how they can be implimented or how they'll work.

 

Bunch of ex squaddies who've got post traumatic stress-disorder setting up a 'free school' in a portakabin sponsored by WalMart teaching C+ programming to some inner-city kids. This is the future of Tory education.

He now wants to make it easier to sack teaching staff for failure to produce term on term increases in arbitrary assessments. The tories won't need to make any cuts to school budgets when middle aged women with axes to grind start picking off the 'bad apples' because they can't show attainment increases in classes where, maybe, none is possible over a term.

 

Teaching and learning could improve yes, but the stupid stipulations placed on attainment are quite frankly ludicrous and interoperated subjectively. A teacher could be sacked because of a subjective framework being interoperated subjectively, fucking idiots!!!

Reminds me of an episode of the US series Boss which i watched a few days ago.

A private company were looking for support from the PTA to be given a big say in an inner city school in return for being able to easily dismiss perceived underperforming teachers.

I believe hiring non union teachers was also part of this process.

 

These right wingers just find new ways of implementing the same things.
