Liverpool hit by new racism row

Published 22:20 06/01/12 By David Maddock

Liverpool have been thrust into another race hate row, after a fan was arrested on suspicion of racially abusing Oldham player Tom Adeyemi.

The incident occurred towards the end of the FA Cup tie, when a fan screamed abuse at the young full back, and visibly upset, he turned to confront the man.

Adeyemi was visibly upset, and seemed to be in tears. Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard moved across to the corner of the ground where the incident occurred, and comforted the 20 year old.

Eye witnesses saw two fans wearing Luis Suarez t-shirts, and heard one of them clearly shout "You f***ing black b***ard".

Police immediately moved in to restrain the two suspects, and later confirmed arrests had been made.

A senior Liverpool figure explained afterwards that stewards were immediately on the scene, and he said: "We will do everything in our power to investigate the matter and ensure the appropriate action is taken."

The incident could not have come at a worst time for the club, following the controversy that has raged over the Suarez affair, who was banned for eight matches for racist abuse of Manchester United's Patrice Evra.

The FA are now sure to investigate, and Liverpool could face sanctions for failing to control their supporters.

Maddock's just about spunked in his knickers in his hurry to get that out hasn't he. The prick. According to Nick Parrott of the BBC:

"No #LFC fans were arrested on Kop tonight. Three were ejected, but this was unrelated to the #Adeyemi incident. I was there & spoke to cops"

Let's not wait for the facts to come out before you start with your poisonous fucking shit though Maddock, eh.

On the upside, let's hope it's those spastics in the jester hats that get banned.

Fucking sickening though, after the kicking we've had over the past few weeks, some cunt thinks it's clever to go and do that...absolute twats.

i concur that life bans and a criminal case be brought agaist the person who alledgedly said what was said, however i watched the game live and rewound it and looked at the incident a few more times and the thing is he didnt react immediately. He collected the ball by the billboards and rolled it back to the keeper then ran up the pitch and didnt turn round til he was 20 yards from the crowd. So 2 things, he either has super human hearing to hear an individual comment over the crowd or he's reacted to the crowd as at the very point he picked up the ball the kop started singing the suarez song and maybe he's misconstrued that as a racially motivated song. Also 3 guys wearing the suarez t-shirts were right in the corner bout 15 yards away from where he originall picked up the ball and the same place where he ran back to start reminstrating with the crowd (and not 1 particular person) so i dont think it was any of them 3 who said anything as if it was he'd have made a beeline for them

Guilty until proved innocent these days.

Was at the game and saw some black fella (am I allowed to say that now?) in the area of the 'incident' who went to say something to a steward in the gangway. What was said, I obviously don't know.

Goes without saying that if someone said something than banning's too good for them.
