Booked tickets at FACT, seemed pricy but then I looked at the order to see I'd been arseraped £2.50 each for 3D glasses.

3D is cuntery of the highest order.

The cheeky bastards will be collecting them to be 'recycled' but they can fuck off purely out of principle. I'll send them to some kid in Africa instead.

Yeah, stick it to the man!

Although, one has to wonder what an African child would do with 3-D glasses.

Send some toast instead. Or maybe a ticket out of the third-world, war-torn, savage hell-hole they live in.

Booked ours today, have to wait until next Wednesday to see it unfortunately due to a mate only being free then.

The git.

Also, did decide against 3D but there's not a whole lot of options available for the normal version. Which is a bit poor.

Counting down the days. Hope the reviews are out tonight. Will be scanning the net like a hawk this evening.

See lions in 3d of course.

Think it was filmed in 3D. Seem to remember reading an interview with Scott about it last year having to shoot all the 3D scenes in really bright light, which was difficult because the majority of the film is dark and dingey.

Films actually shot in 3D tend to be Ok, it's the conversion ones that are shite.

If those are yank reviews I wouldn't pay them much mind. Those are the same intellectuals that didn't like The Empire Strikes Back, The Shawshank Redemption, Monsters Ball. For fucks sake the Magnificent Seven was a dud in the States till it went to Europe, now its the most televised western on cable tv over there!

I think this will probably appeal to Sci nuts rather than your Barry Norman types

Even Empire doesn't like it that much, I was expecting 5/5 from them.

Total Film are warmer to it though.

Prometheus Reviews, Ratings, Credits, and More - Metacritic

While everybody was pulling they're chain over the prospect of this film, I'd like to point everybody to my original post in this thread:

I think Ridley Scott is on dangerous ground here.

Personally, with this and talks of him doing a Blade Runner sequal as well, I think it's almost like he's slipping in George Lucas territory of just re-hashing his original ideas.

Although I think Scott is a decent director (the above mentioned 2, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down etc are classics) his recent efforts have all been missed opportunities IMO.

American Gangster, Body Of Lies, Kingdom Of Heaven, Hannibal and Robin Hood all have been Ok (to various degrees) but I got the feeling watching them all that they would have been better films under a different director.

The Alien franchise is on it's knees after Alien 3, Alien 4 and the AvP films and it would be hard to imagine him doing worse than those films but even if it continues in the 'only Ok' bracket his recent films have fall into, he'll still be accused of shitting on his own legacy.

If any director was to come back to the Alien franchise it should have been James Cameron. I'd have liked to see David Fincher get another go as he's a director at the peak of his powers while it appears to me that Scott's best days are behind him.

I hope I'm wrong and it's ace but I am sceptical about it.

I'll wait until I've seen it tomorrow to fully comment but a Scott Alien film with a 3/5 rating surely goes down as a disappointment?

I intend to have a couple of goes at the pics, and to take in both the 2d and the 3d versions.

Interested to see if there's any great worth in the 3d.

Really looking forward to this, but gonna try and catch a really early or a really late showing, minus all the usual rarfs and inbred pissants.
