The lads been absolutely marvelous since Kenny took over. There are still fans who don't rate him at all, but in reality there's very few centre backs out there who are superior to Martin. His heading has improved a huge amount in the last year, his tackling is usually superb, never see him outmuscled or bullied by the opposition strikers. Most of all his recovery pace is top drawer it is essential for us to continue playing this high line which allows us dominate so many games.

Well in Martin lad.

He is playing very well, as is Agger.

I have also been impressed with his heading lately, he has looked very dominant in that area and that was one of the major criticisms of him.

Very underated.

He is doing well and the partnership with Agger looks very good. I'm very pleased with the defence at the moment.

Agreed. We have many things not working as well as it might elsewhere on the pitch, but the defence are all doing very well.

Tight, mean, and conceding few goals. Great platform for Kenny and Clarke to build on. Now we just need to buy someone who is good at scoring goals.

Vermaelen has hardly fucking played this season, and Kompany has been the best CB in the league by a mile.

This. Kompany probably is the best centre half in the league altogether.

Skrtel has been excellent lately, as LFD said, he's been very dominant in the air lately and has been timing his jumps better and not making any silly attempts to win the ball. Going to be hard for Carra to force his way back, if Agger stays fit.

The only thing that worried me about him was the amount of free kicks he gave away, in and around the box. they were allways unnecessary and i think it was down to a confidence thing with him.

But he's been outstanding sinse he came in for Carra.

Best ive seen him sinse he got that knee/ankle injury in the 08/09 season away at city. He had a great start to the season that year as well.

Hope he keeps it going

The King has worked wonder but Skrtel's improved form is down to Clark and Keen imo.
