For comedic greatness, down to earth values and amazing action packed sequences, you can't go past the Toy Story Trilogy.

 

Star Wars doesn't qualify, thanks to that fourth piece of shit film.

The thing with trilogies is there is always one installment that is significantly lower in quality than the others.

 

Off the top of my head, the Toy Story, Bourne & LOTR's trilogy are the only 3 that don't have a 'dip' in quality.

Apparently, the director Alejandro González Iñárritu considers Amores Perros, 21 Grams and Babel to be his 'Death Trilogy'. They all share multi-strand plots and are all superb films.

If you did the same poll today with Nolan's Batman films, I reckon they would clean up the vote, though I would stick with my original Indiana Jones vote.

 

Also, I think the original Superman trilogy deserved to be up there, I and especially II were brilliant films.

Godfather, cant watch Bourne. if you read the books Matt Damon is no Jason Bourne. cant watch the Jack Reacher film for same reason, Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher!!!! you can fuck right off
