No it was £50m up front, it comes outta the gangsters wedge so it's not built into a business plan, Saturday was a new low for him been hooked like that, no way he'll make spain euro squad if villa is fit

He's got to be a long way behind the likes of Soldado and Llorente as well.

I actually thought he did ok at the weekend and was unlucky to be hooked, Sturridge himself mentioned how he had played him some decent passes. He also had next to nothing in service either.

His problem is exacerbated though by the fact Drogba rules the roost there an Sturridge has been class this year.

Being yanked at halftime for the return of the preening tosspot Drogba might signal the end of his Chelsea career.

Drogba being away at the African Cup whatsit gave him a golden opportunity to kick-start his Chelsea career, but it hasn't happened at all.

I can't see AVB chancing his own (precarious) position to accommodate him, so what options does he have left? Hope AVB gets sacked and Benitez comes in?!

To much player power at Chelsea, Rafa would go the same way as AVB.

Dr. Ramon Cugat the surgeon who operated on the forward in December, predicted the striker could be out of action for as little as four months, meaning he should have time to try to secure himself a place in Spain’s squad for Euro 2012..

I actually want to see AVB get the sack from Chelsea, as he'll get more money off the cunts, and he'll end up at a proper club, he's too classy for that shower of complete shite.

What's a few more million quid to a billionaire? I hope Roman digs his heels in and AVB stays for another 3 years and totally fucks them up even more than he has done. Fuck Chelsea and Fuck AVB the shitcoat MK II.

That's a description I didn't think I'd see levelled at AVB.

Do you not remember the bullish arrogance of his first few press conferences / post-match interviews?

He's learned humility the hard way: by being humiliated. He's turned from the new Maureen when he first got there to an open apology only because he's stuffed full of humble pie.

Rafa has no chance at getting the chelsea job, or any other big job in England, except for maybe back at Liverpool.

The English media did a perfect job on convincing the masses he's mediocre. Even Villa fans laughable thought they were too good for him.

He'd be perfect for guiding England at the Euro's but the little Englanders want to watch an English manager make a meal of it again, then blame whoever misses the last pen in the q/f's.

That's spot on BringbackBiscan.

Yep its very true, irrespective of whether you love him or loathe him his record compared to the usual suspects who keep popping up is far, far superior. Even a club in Wolves position would probably give Steve Bruce a go first.

Just goes to show that whether they like it or not, its hugely important for any manager to maintain a working relationship with media.

Hopefully he gets another chance to prove himself, he'll defo be in the running for the Real Madrid job in the summer once Maureen decides he needs to move on and become City manager.. Whether Rafa would follow him for the second time is a matter of opinion.

It would rule out Torres ever working with Rafa again if that happened as he's on record as saying he would never play for Madrid...

Edit: and we all know that Torres is a man of his word.

Fernando Torres was an absolute phenomenon. Fast, strong, good in the air, gifted with an expert technique, cool as fuck in front of goal. He was a legend in the making. The first Liverpool player since Robbie Fowler to score more than twenty league goals in one season. The first player since Roger Hunt to score eight successive league goals at Anfield. The first player since Jack Balmer to score successive hat-tricks at Anfield. The fastest Liverpool player ever to score fifty league goals. A player held in such esteem he was supported more vocally by The Kop than two local legends in Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard. He was simply amazing. Then he signed for Chelsea.

The End.

That's a good story. But what on earth is going on in the photo? Is Luis filled with some sort of shamanistic power? Does he do this for everyone, or is it just Torres? Will someone tell him it's not actually working, whatever it is.
