  1. 1. Do you like Marmite?

There's rumour it's made with real pony, so you know it's good.

Nope, that's cupcakes you're thinking of.

Marmite is made from, amongst other things, shattered dreams, broken promises and the despair of the long, dark teatime of the soul.

That's why some people say it tastes bitter, but there are complexities to the taste, deeper things in the undertow, that only the true afficionado can appreciate. Except for those cereal bars. They suck arse.

Marmite. It's like Proust on Toast.

Marmite-XO-001.jpg

Bought some of this the other day.

Wet dreams have been less enjoyable.

The fact i didn't even baulk at the £3.99 price tag spoke volumes. Sometimes you just know shit be worth it. This be one of those times.

The only concern is how quickly its being consumed.

Marmite pasta is a new one for me the this year. Knob of butter in a pan, touch of marmite and some of the pasta cooking water. Creates a mild salty sauce.

Tried it after watching Nigella lawson create it on a youtube video.

I tried that when he first did it on telly and actually thought it was horrible. Not very Marmitey but a bit sickly.

So are most marmite fans also fans of baked beans? I wonder what the split is?

There's a serious poll in that.

Not a fan of marmite on it's own or spread on toast, etc but like Cochyn I gotta have me some of that dropped in a bolognese sauce for extra goodness.
