Better from England today, positive and controlled. Wicket and weather has helped, nothing doing with the ball for NZ. Then again how many times have we seen England screw it up on a favourable wicket over recent years.

Foakes looks composed.

Wonder how de Grandhomme feels.

Ran himself out like an imbecile, overstepped bowling at 20mph when he got Stokes out, then got injured meaning the three quicks got completely burnt out last night.

Been listening to TMS since 2pm yesterday, fantastic stuff.

Stokes’ captaincy will hopefully evoke Napoleon’s words about lucky generals

... and not interrupting the opposition when they're making a mistake!

McCullum's a go-getter.

Root is arguably the best bat in the world, now unfettered.

Captaincy could bring the very best out of Stokes.

This might all be just the ticket.

And I think England bore the brunt of cricketing difficulties during COVID.

Happier times ahead, I think.

No pressure @Jennings

I don't feel any pressure, mate. I know cricket probably better than TK. Looks like I'm opening...

...I'll just get out my racquet. Tee it up. And smash one through mid-wicket for a touch down. 1-nil to us!
