At least he misses the England games, every cloud n all that. Pretty sure stevie is obsessive over cleanliness and germs etc so it's strange he keeps suffering infections.

That's the problem right there. his body isn't up to combating regular infections due to Howard Hughes style sterile surroundings. He needs a bit of Neville Southall style rolling about in the muck, soon sort the lad out.

Dalglish also provided an update on Scouse duo Jamie Carragher (calf) and Steven Gerrard (ankle), both of whom have been absent in recent weeks.

"Carra is training," said the manager. "He's got rid of his calf injury so he's fit and available for selection.

"Steven is progressing brilliantly. There is nothing that's been a disappointment other than he's not been available for selection. He'll be available as and when he's over what he's got but everything's going really well. We couldn't ask for more or any greater news from him."

Pressed on whether there was a date when the skipper could be back, Dalglish added: "No. When he's ready."

Maybe I'm wrong but I can see him being available for Chelsea. Lets face it, Kenny is hardly going to be shouting from the roof tops that our captain is fit and in the squad for a key game and giving them a heads up.

Dalglish states that Carra is back in training, and then that Gerrard is "progressing brilliantly", but with no mention of training or even a hint at a return date. I would say we are in for a lot longer wait. The initial comments of Christmas look about right I would think.
