Gambacinni, the concience of the nation , has spilled the beans on Jim's "special" love for dead people. What a tosser this bloke is with his pathetic pretend gravitas on every subject under the sun. Why the fuck is is wheeled out every time some news story breaks about the media ?

Paul Gambaccini - voice of reason - shame you've kept that voice quiet for 40 fucking years turning a blind eye is no better than the perpitrator himself.

He should have spoken out earlier, can't help thinking that the "so-called" celebrities who come out now saying, "oh we all knew that savile was wierd, had young girls in his changing room, was good pals with Gary Glitter", jesus christ, anychance one of you could have had a voice at some point - even the last 10 years. Maybe one life, just one, might not have been destroyed by the perv(6)

The question needs to be asked as to why no one will investigate the fact that Savile was also a supplier of young girls and boys to a wider pedophile ring.

Some very big names in some very high places are being implicated in all of this, this doesn't all begin and end with Jimmy Savile.

My next door neighbour came round last night when the latest Savile news was on the TV. He was a trainee producer at the BBC in the late 70s when the cult of the Radio One DJ was at its height. He said the talk was that the DJs fell into 3 categories: the ones who were in it for the music, those that were mainly interested in money and the others, the “pervs” as he described them. He dropped in another name, one mentioned earlier in this thread as being a member of the latter group. He also said there were a lot of rumours around those involved on the kids TV side as well.

He pretty much repeated what Janet Street Porter said on Question Time, that the TV industry in this country was a pretty sordid place to be back then, and that the BBC’s cuddly, safe “Auntie” image always has been a complete sham. That any situation where there is a nexus between those who desperately want to be famous and those who are in a uniquely powerful position to dispense fame is bound to result in exploitation, and a lot of that was sexual in the case of the BBC back then.

It look like Beeb’s reputation is going to be shredded by this. There may not have been organised rings of abusers but there certainly was a lot of blind eye turning to persistent rumours that should have been investigated further. Hacking into celebrities’ phones looks pretty minor in comparison.

Come to think of it I do remember there were rumours of that type around a certain Home Secretary back then.

Let's hope the Met don't arrest the Swansea player by mistake!

He is now a trade advisor, wonder what he trades in. Also a vice chairman of an investment bank..Knighted....Baron, bound to be into rent boys the Tory cunt.

This is just the last straw...

It’s another Establishment cover-up. The Savile scandal spreads ever wider as another upstanding institution is accused of helping to conceal his transgressions. The Londoner has learned that the TV presenter allegedly cheated during two of his six London Marathon runs, getting vehicles secretly to drive him the length of most of the race.

Savile was famous for his charity fund-raising marathons and claimed to have run more than 200 in total. Remarkably, he was often seen puffing away on a cigar while racing and used to brag that he never needed to train: “I just turn up and run.” Or not, as the case may be.

Last year Jason Henderson, the editor of Athletics Weekly, revealed that the races were often far shorter than Savile claimed. “Many of the ‘marathons’ he bragged about were actually 10km or half-marathons. Not that anyone cared,” wrote Henderson in an otherwise glowing obituary.

Could it be that Savile seldom ran the races at all? Rumours of the presenter taking motor-driven shortcuts — assisted by marathon officials — have been circulating online for more than a decade and apparently it was common knowledge among regular marathon runners that Savile rarely bothered to break a sweat. Instead, he merely started and finished but skipped the difficult bits.

The London Marathon, currently sponsored by Virgin, says its databases only go back to 2007 but it has found old Marathon programmes that show Savile took part on six occasions — 1981-83, 1985, 1987 and 1991. “We’re hoping he completed each race,” says a spokesman who claimed to have “no knowledge of Savile jumping in any vehicles”.

Update from MP Tom Watson:

I cannot give much more detail until the police have been given more time to investigate whether evidence still exists from the mid-nineties, but here is what I can say.

Last week I was contacted by a former child protection specialist who for some years, had been concerned that a wider investigation regarding the activities of convicted paedophile, Peter Righton was not fully investigated.

He contacted me because he knew I had spoken out in the Murdoch scandal. Over the years, he had lost faith in the ability of politicians to get to the truth. The last time he contacted an MP was in 1994. The MP promised to follow up the case but nothing came of it.

The central allegation was that a large body of material seized in the raid on Righton’s home had not been fully investigated. Though Righton was the subject of a BBC profile in 1994 [i think this is the date] “The Secret Life of a Paedophile”, little had been done to follow up the leads from the case. A specialist unit in Scotland Yard had the material which supplemented a wider investigation into organised paedophile rings in children’s homes.

Over the last few days I have spoken to two other child protection specialists who share the concern of the gentleman who contacted me.

Within the material seized at Righton’s home were letters from known and convicted paedophiles. The contact, who has seen the letters, claimed that one paedophile in particular was of great concern. He said that the paedophile, who worked with children, boasted of a key aide to a former PM who could help get hold of indecent images of children. I am not naming the person for obvious reasons but for clarity it is not former MP, Peter Morrison. This afternoon my office has been bombarded with calls regarding Morrison, I think because he was named by Edwina Currie at the weekend as having inappropriate sexual relations with teenage boys.

I’ll say more when I can but this may not be for some time.

I should say that like with the hacking scandal, a number of people have contacted me this afternoon offering more information regarding the case. I am happy to talk to anyone who can help me – particularly those who came into contact with Righton and his contacts when they were young. I can understand how powerless they must have felt at the time – Righton’s net was cast wide.

One person also contacted me to suggest that the Met held a vast quantity of material suggesting Jimmy Savile was a predatory paedophile. I do not know whether this is true but I do know the source and she has been 100% accurate in the past.

One final thing I should say – I made the decision to ask a question of the PM late this morning and had not had time to write to the Met before speaking out. I have no doubt the Met will take this seriously and am sorry I didn’t have time to forewarn the commissioner of my intention to raise the matter.

I have written to him this afternoon with more details regarding the case. This will obviously remain confidential.

Host on Good Morning Ulster radio show read out a tweet earlier about Savile sent in by some listener:

“I don’t know what all the fuss about Jimmy Savile is. I met him once and he was lovely. When I was 6 he fixed it for me to milk a cow blindfolded.”

<Facepalm>

"The names of the alleged members of the ring have been given by witnesses in public sessions of the North Wales Child Abuse Tribunal, but they have been suppressed by the tribunal's chairman, Sir Ronald Waterhouse QC, who has threatened the media with High Court proceedings if they print them."

So the cunts are being protected by an Über cunt who is no doubt in his job due to connections etc...it fucking stinks.
