UK Riots: young, ethnic, criminal, uneducated underclass to blame.

Inevitable side-effect of the way our welfare state is set up, isn't it. Why bother expending any effort when the state will supply you with everything you need to survive from other people's effort? And at lower levels of pay, it's scarcely worth working because of the benefits you'll lose. Consequently you have an entire generation with no work ethic, which believes it has a right to be kept by the productive majority.

The only side effect here is the one you blundered unintentionally in hitting on, mostly due to the economic policies of your dear beloved government, that is that there are no jobs, no effort to create jobs and for those whom long term education is not suited to, who are young and trying to get on the work ladder so to speak are finding that there are no jobs that they can access. The assumption that they have not got jobs because they are work shy has about as much substance as your opinions, the riots were because a section of the population have no access to jobs, young 'ragamuffins' who might otherwise have become labourers, taxi drivers or painters and decorators are not able to get anywhere and have no prospects of getting anywhere.

They are an indice of the economy, the best indice of an economies are taxi drivers, if they are doing well, so is the economy if not then its a good indicator that shit is fucked up.

Its little to do with 'benefits' at all son, thats a symptom not the problem.

Go and find some tuition fees to vote for, cretin.

Scolding mum sues banks over teen's playboy lifestyle

Tuesday, 25 October 2011

The Versace and Prada clothes seemed a little lavish for a teenager. Then there was the Louis Vuitton luggage, the limousines, the penthouses overlooking Sydney Harbour. How on earth could a 14-year-old schoolboy afford this celebrity lifestyle, his mother wondered.

She found out that her son was masterminding an eBay scam that had netted him A$200,000 (£130,500) – and that Australia's big four banks were helping him launder the money by allegedly showering him with bank accounts and debit cards.

Neither the boy nor his mother can be identified for legal reasons, but details of the bizarre case have emerged from documents lodged with the New South Wales Supreme Court. He was arrested at school after his frauds were linked to an IP address attached to a classroom computer.

The woman, who lives south of Sydney, is seeking damages from the four banks – the Commonwealth, ANZ, Westpac and National Australia Bank – and an apology for "unconscionable conduct".

The boy sold non-existent items on eBay, the online auction site, at one stage earning more than $6,000 a day. His mother's suspicions were aroused when he began booking penthouses costing $4,300 a night and hiring limousines to go to the beach.

He also flew friends around Australia for weekend parties in rented luxury apartments, and paid for beauty sessions for his female friends. "There I was, a single mother of two, desperately struggling to put food on the table," his mother said. "He, meanwhile, would stroll in after feasting at the latest fancy restaurant of his choice and chuck me leftovers in a plastic tub."

A log book she found solved the mystery. It detailed "thousands of dollars worth of transactions with eBay customers, all of whom had deposited money into his bank accounts for non-existent laptops, mobile phones and watches".

The boy's mother said she repeatedly contacted the banks, warning them that he was a minor who was depositing illegally gained funds and begging them to stop giving him accounts and debit cards. They ignored her or refused to discuss the matter, citing privacy concerns, she alleges.

The boy, now 19, opened his first bank account with the Commonwealth, with the help of a friend who claimed to be his guardian. "He was an intelligent boy who worked out how to cheat the system and play it for all it was worth," his mother said.

According to her, he also defrauded the banks. "He began placing small amounts of cash on his many debit cards, followed by instant large withdrawals. The flaw in the system is that you can go $1,500 overdrawn before they shut down the account. He didn't care. The moment one got closed, it was his cue to open another. It became an addiction."

In an effort to halt his behaviour, she contacted teachers, doctors and counsellors as well as the banking ombudsman and financial watchdogs. "But each time, I was told the only people who could end this madness were the banks. To this day, they refuse to acknowledge it was their accounts being used to launder money, and their overdrafts to commit more crime."

Since 2007, she has handed over her son to the police 15 times, with the boy spending numerous spells in juvenile detention. At bottom, he was an "insecure boy out to impress", she said. Now that he no longer had money, most of his so-called friends had disappeared.

All four banks said they would defend themselves against the allegations.]

Out of interest, how does everyone pronounce this? Most of my mates say 'pa-ti-o' sort of like Matteo with a P, I say it more like 'ratio' with a P... who's in the right here?

I'm going to assume this isn't a joke, and play it with a straight bat:

Patio as in Matteo.

For the love of GOD, 'ratio'?

Seriously SD? You're capable of much better bait then that.

That's what you get in the welfare state. Young people that expect to be completely taken care of and I hope we steer clear from that in the US.

You're having a bloody laugh an all.

Yeah it's boss growing up on a council estate, and of course your average state benefit affords you a wonderful lifestyle, in fact many of them like to go skiing in Gstaad. I don't imagine there's anyone out there on the dole who'd rather be working or living in a nice gaff.

Is right.

I clearly need to teach some of the kids on this estate to read, at least if the read this stuff they'd have aspirations in their future criminal activities.

UK rioters came from abroad: 1 in 7 jailed after summer of violence was a foreign national

By REBECCA CAMBER

Foreign looters from 44 countries have been locked up over the riots which scarred the country in August.

Robbers, vandals and thugs from as far afield as Afghanistan, Cuba, Ethiopia and Samoa joined in as shops were plundered and businesses set ablaze, causing millions of pounds worth of damage.

The sheer number from different corners of the globe who took part in the mayhem is one of the strongest indicators yet that the riots had nothing to do with political protest or civil unrest, but was born of greed and opportunist criminality.

Last night campaigners said anyone convicted of a riot-related offence should be thrown out of the country at the earliest opportunity.

Prison statistics revealed that 14 per cent – about one in seven – of those jailed for burglary, robbery, theft, criminal damage and disorder during the riots were born abroad. But the true number could be even higher as at least four per cent of those remanded in custody refused to tell police their nationality.

Jamaicans represented the largest group of foreign inmates, followed by Somali and Polish offenders. The list also included those from Colombia, Iraq, Congo, Vietnam and Zimbabwe.

Hundreds of other foreign suspects are facing deportation as separate figures obtained under the Freedom of Information Act show that police have referred 367 ‘suspected foreign nationals’ to the UK Border Agency.

That number is expected to grow as police are still hunting thousands of suspects, with experts predicting it could take up to two years to sift through all the CCTV evidence.

The Ministry of Justice has released a breakdown of the nationalities of those jailed for riot-related offences committed between August 6, when the trouble exploded in Tottenham, and August 9, when disorder had spread outside London to Manchester, Wolverhampton and Birmingham.

A snapshot of the prison population on September 9 reveals that there were 153 foreign nationals and prisoners of ‘unrecorded nationality’ – which in most cases refers to those from the European Union – representing 18 per cent of the 865 criminals imprisoned over the riots. That compares with 712 offenders from the United Kingdom.

One in four of those jailed for robbery were born abroad, as were one in ten convicted for violent disorder or other disorder offences such as possession of a knife or drugs.

Nationally, police have made more than 4,000 arrests, with 2,952 suspects held in London alone.

Yesterday Sir Andrew Green of the MigrationWatch pressure group called on the Government to kick out foreign rioters and looters.

He said: ‘It’s absolutely unacceptable that any foreign citizen should take part in a riot in Britain.

‘It’s important that the courts should recommend deportation in every case which would qualify.’

Immigration Minister Damian Green has said criminals born abroad should be thrown out of Britain.

In the immediate aftermath of the riots, he said: ‘We strongly believe that foreign national lawbreakers should be removed from the UK at the earliest opportunity.’

Yesterday Mr Green repeated his commitment to deport offenders from overseas, saying: ‘Foreign nationals who were convicted of offences during the riots will be returned home wherever possible.’

But Lib Dem home affairs spokesman Tom Brake has said the Government would ‘need to exercise caution’, particularly in cases where foreigners have families established in the UK.

Criminals from outside Europe are automatically put forward for deportation if they are sentenced to 12 months in prison.

The same applies to Europeans given a 12-month sentence for drugs, violent or sexual crimes, or 24 months for other crimes, and courts can recommend deportation in other instances.

However offenders can use the Human Rights Act to appeal against deportation on the grounds that they are entitled to a family life or to avoid the risk of torture.

A Ministry of Justice spokesman said: ‘It is important to bear in mind that this is only a snapshot of the prison population on September 9.

‘It would be misleading to suggest that it provides a complete picture of those involved in the riots.’

Is there any kind of investigation being done into the 'riots' does anyone know? I've not been keeping up with it. It wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't though, sums up the fact they don't want the answers.

People's lives are decided by so many factors. The only difference between Cameron and one of those rioters is opportunity, supportive parenting and being raised in an environment of safety, he is not any better or any more intelligent, I'd wager, than the vast majority of them, yet he - and us - feel content to sit in judgment.

I've not done too bad considering, I could have done a lot worse, but I owe the vast majority of it to my mother who cleaned bogs to send me to a private school. None of my family satyed on in school, went to uni or had a 'career', ever travelled abroard or ever set foot on a plane. My grandad worked all his life on the railway and had nothing to show for it, the rest of my family are genuinely feckless benefit fraudsters and I have nothing to do with them.

But I'm 100% certain if it was not for my mother's love, If I'd been cast adrift to go to the local comp in Speke (which the madness that is the 11 plus probably would have sent me), raw intelligence or no, good nature or no, I would have been simply destroyed. I'd have spent so much time just trying not to get my head kicked in that I'd have had no chance of getting any GCSEs. I'm not saying I would have turned out like one of these shitbags, but it's not as simple as 'he's done well, he's got some get up and go' or 'he's a 'chav' and therefore thick and shit'.

Someone should do a Marty McFly on Cameron, take his dad out of the picture, stick him in an Anfield council house, and see what he manages to achieve then.

AS for the latter, i'd love to see them try an manage a few weeks on a council estate even now with their money to back them up. I'm sure the stones through the windows and fireworks going off would have Dave arranging some slave labour plan by sending the feral brats to work on the next government scheme, after all, the kids are only bored aren't they?

Not strictly true - Cameron was present when Boris & the Bullingdon boys decided to randomly smash windows in a high street but he managed to evade the police. Davie's done his own share of rioting so should be ideally placed to judge the motives

Durr, really?

So, as most if us knew, it was no social movement or protest.

It was mainly a load of illiterate, feral scum underclass nicking consumer products because they could.

The watercannons and tear gas should have been cracked out on day one.

Christ, ten years on and this all seems unbelievably depressing. Cameron fucked the country up through austerity and his arrogant Brexit gamble, Nick Clegg went from Deputy PM to shill for a social media company that helped elect Trump, Theresa May was Home Secretary and became a hopeless prime minister, Boris went from Mayor of London to the most corrupt prime minister the country has ever seen and Keir Starmer’s role in the post-riot prosecutions should really have disqualified him from becoming the Labour leader.

Thank fuck I decided to permanently leave the country

At the end of it Cameron was hammering everyone who looted as scum and yet he was busy trousering millions.

In any other country his head would be on a spike.

A certain boris johnson labelled everyone involved as the feral underclass.

Cunt.

Fucking hell, he seems a tad unreasonable. I’m guessing he didn’t last too long on here.

Actually even though he was utterly vile, he lasted for ages, because it was all fun and games when he was abusing people and libelling them. Even today some think it's funny to repeat his insults.

Of course, as soon as it was discovered that he worked for News International, his remaining time here could be measured in picoseconds. Go figure.

Suffice it to say if I ever meet him, there will be issues, but it won't be because he dared to have employment.
