That's big.

Massive decision from Liverpool now. To pursue and fight, or to take it and move on. It's going to overshadow everything from now on.

Suarez is a racist. He'll carry that for the rest of his career, certainly in this country anyway.

Horrible news.

I'd bear in mind that this is a suspended sentence dependent on us appealing & thus A ) Is not activated immediately because of that & B ) Will (doubtlessly) be knocked down Very severely on appeal due to the sheer absurdity of their lack of a coherent case/evidence against him.

As to the rest? I fully agree in that it's a declaration of war - They want a war like H & G did? Give them one - In fact treat them & United like we did H & G. I think the 'Internet Terrorists' should come out of retirement no? We Must Flood & Crash All their websites - If we can crash one after another All the major finance companies involved in the farce of our selling last year? This lot? Are nothing..... - Go after the FA publicly (or the club should) by releasing statements Blasting the decision & picking it to pieces+questioning it's motives/make up And most especially the United presence in the FA. I think to we should nay must take Evra & the FA to the cleaners for defamation of character on Suarez since this sad excuse for evidence they have used for their pathetic little case? Would be blown to bits in court within 5 minutes flat.

We should also as a matter of course as a club? Withdraw from the FA Cup - Remove All our players from England availiability until further notice & condemn the FA as Not fit for purpose due to unreasonable levels of inherent bias thanks to the presence of United senior staff on said body & their Clearly unhealty levels of influence. I think to that All fans of LFC should go after Evra on twitter as much as possible - The little gobshite likes to spread crap & defame others? Then give him a bit of his own medicine; Slander, libel & defame His name to high heaven - He cant' sue All of us no? Finally if (and I'm sure one of you will at some point) any Fans on here come across Evra on their travels? Just hit him........Just once but make it a good one - A broken jaw would do the little scrote a world of good & might change his pathetic little ways - Failing that? A snipers bullet or knife in the back would always do no? Just saying. Little tw*t deserves all that's coming to him now & he's just unleashed Hell on himself & Then some.................

NB Il Fenomeno? Fcuk Off - With the best defence in the PL? Do you think ALL we do has to do with Luis Bloody Suarez? Might even be just what Carroll needs to ensure we stick it to the tw*ts by going on a HUGE winning run with Him as main man. (Him not being the main man is IMO the Real reason he's struggled since moving that might all change now).

NBB Also just a thought but couldn't we wait until they release their evidence & then once we've picked it to piece have Kenny play videos Disproving it in all his Press Conferences & he can verbally tear the FA a new one at each of them as well? Would embarrass almost as much as the inevitable barrage they're going to get in proper Legal Courts now for this absolute joke..........

NBBB Red Lad? Whatever evidence they've got? A ) It doesn't warrant this shite - Never mind drive Luis out of England at a time when the game is already losing stars here right, left & centre - This? Is about Us & Kenny but also? B ) Whatever shite they come up with will no doubt be presented in a 'No Questions Permitted' Press Conference & If inspected closely? Will probably have a clearly visible Red Devils Logo or MUFC Megastore Logo on it somewhere. I wouldn't put it past them anyway - Nothing surprises me anymore.........

An Independent Regulatory Commission has today [Tuesday 20 December 2011] found a charge of misconduct against Luis Suarez proven, and have issued a suspension for a period of eight matches as well as fining him £40,000, pending appeal.

On 16 November 2011, The Football Association charged Luis Suarez with misconduct contrary to FA Rule E3 in relation to the Liverpool FC versus Manchester United FC fixture on 15 October 2011.

A hearing took place from 14-20 December 2011 before an Independent Regulatory Commission of The FA to consider the charge.

The Independent Regulatory Commission announced its decision on 20 December 2011, which is as follows:

Mr Suarez used insulting words towards Mr Evra during the match contrary to FA Rule E3(1);

the insulting words used by Mr Suarez included a reference to Mr Evra's colour within the meaning of Rule E3(2);

Mr Suarez shall be warned as to his future conduct, be suspended for eight matches covering all first team competitive matches and fined the sum of £40,000;

the [penalty] is suspended pending the outcome of any appeal lodged by Mr Suarez against this decision.

The Independent Regulatory Commission will provide written reasons for its decision in due course setting out:

(a) the findings of fact made by it;

(b) the reasons for its decision finding the charge proved; and

© the reasons for the penalty.

Mr Suarez has the right to appeal the decision of the Independent Regulatory Commission to an Appeal Board. An appeal must be lodged within 14 days of the date of the written reasons for the decision.

The penalty is suspended until after the outcome of any appeal, or the time for appealing expires, or should Mr Suarez decide not to appeal. The reason for this is to ensure that the penalty does not take effect before any appeal so that Mr Suarez has an effective right of appeal.

Liverpool FC statement

Liverpool Football Club is very surprised and disappointed with the decision of the Football Association Commission to find Luis Suarez guilty of the charges against him.

We look forward to the publication of the Commission's Judgment. We will study the detailed reasons of the Commission once they become available, but reserve our right to appeal or take any other course of action we feel appropriate with regards to this situation.

We find it extraordinary that Luis can be found guilty on the word of Patrice Evra alone when no-one else on the field of play - including Evra's own Manchester United teammates and all the match officials - heard the alleged conversation between the two players in a crowded Kop goalmouth while a corner kick was about to be taken.

The Club takes extremely seriously the fight against all forms of discrimination and has a long and successful track record in work relating to anti-racist activity and social inclusion. We remain committed to this ideal and equality for all, irrespective of a person's background.

LFC considers racism in any form to be unacceptable - without compromise. It is our strong held belief, having gone over the facts of the case, that Luis Suarez did not commit any racist act. It is also our opinion that the accusation by this particular player was not credible - certainly no more credible than his prior unfounded accusations.

It is key to note that Patrice Evra himself in his written statement in this case said 'I don't think that Luis Suarez is racist'. The FA in their opening remarks accepted that Luis Suarez was not racist.

Luis himself is of a mixed race family background as his grandfather was black. He has been personally involved since the 2010 World Cup in a charitable project which uses sport to encourage solidarity amongst people of different backgrounds with the central theme that the colour of a person's skin does not matter; they can all play together as a team.

He has played with black players and mixed with their families whilst with the Uruguay national side and was Captain at Ajax Amsterdam of a team with a proud multi-cultural profile, many of whom became good friends.

It seems incredible to us that a player of mixed heritage should be accused and found guilty in the way he has based on the evidence presented. We do not recognise the way in which Luis Suarez has been characterised.

It appears to us that the FA were determined to bring charges against Luis Suarez, even before interviewing him at the beginning of November. Nothing we have heard in the course of the hearing has changed our view that Luis Suarez is innocent of the charges brought against him and we will provide Luis with whatever support he now needs to clear his name.

We would also like to know when the FA intend to charge Patrice Evra with making abusive remarks to an opponent after he admitted himself in his evidence to insulting Luis Suarez in Spanish in the most objectionable of terms. Luis, to his credit, actually told the FA he had not heard the insult.

The club will seek legal advice weather to appeal or not. Imo we should appeal. Could get it overturned or the ban reduced. The FA surely now have to be transparent what evidence they have got? What evidence have they got that sky would have already found? Lipreading experts ? something like that? If they have not got this evidence then its based on Suraez's word against Evra's. I think they must have consulted Ferguson and asked what length of ban would be good for him.

The owners may not know the game between the lines as well as some, or even most. This is their expertise - no one in the league can match us at what is about to unfold - the FA are looked at even by people in football boots as amateurs - imagine what the honks in the high glass at Park Ave think of them, sitting ducks y'all.

Its a fucking disgrace the whole thing stinks,and this is far from finished.

If as has been reported that the decision was based on how the cunt interpreted the way Luis said it to him,surely this is totally wrong way for it be based on.

The cunt has already on two occasions been found lying on a racism call and also as he is the one who complained he is going to say he was called it in a nasty way.

It is a total mockery of justice for a accuser being the reason for the outcome of any case.

Would not surprise me if the Uruguayan FA enter all this now either.

Not a surprise in truth, this has as much to do with the FA's stance with FIFA regarding racism. It's an opportunity for them to send a message out regarding their own credentials as much as anything.

It's very, very harsh and I await the evidence to be published. It surely has to more than one persons word against anothers? Cantona got a 10 game ban for actually assaulting someone in the crowd as I recall.

We should definitely appeal this as such a lengthy ban actually gives the FA room to show leniency. Wouldn't be surprised now to see an appeal and for the ban to be reduced by a few games, the FA's so very important reputation in tact.

That is a boss statement from the club and imo they know the FA have fuck all, they have pretty much said that it in there. The attack on Evra and the defensive but aggressive stance on defamation is good to see too.

I think we will take them to the cleaners now and i'd like to quietly point out that I agree with every word that Red Shadow had to say.
