Evra accuses Suarez of racism

Recommended Posts

Liverpool's belief is that if the case cannot be proved the FA should consider taking action against Evra on the grounds that it was a malicious allegation. This is unlikely to happen, however, unless there is categorical evidence that Suárez did not do what Evra claims.

Evidence that someone didn't do something? How does that work?

I suppose if Steven Gerrard had told .tv in January "just before the game Howard Webb whispered to me that he would give United a penalty as soon as he possibly could and that he would send me off after half an hour" the FA would have stood by and done nothing because there was no evidence Webb hadn't said that.

As soon as Evra speaks to French TV he makes this an either/or situation.

What a load of unadulterated shit that article is. Marina Hyde talks some nonsense, but that's up there with the worst of it.

We're reacting to the fallout from an incident during one of the most watched sporting events in the world wherein a player makes an allegation of racism but somehow none of the dozens of cameras trained on the pitch and players, beaming HD pictures all over the globe, managed to pick a single instance of the "more than ten" occurrences which the accuser immediately claimed could be seen on television.

I'm sorry, but for us to think there is something fishy about that is perfectly fucking normal.

And who the fuck is she to say that false accusations of rape or racism are any less despicable than the acts themselves? That's utter bullshit. People who are found guilty of that kind of thing should be harshly dealt with imo.

Evra was in a funk right from the kick-off, when he seemed to be pissed off with the ref at the coin toss for some reason. Think he was itching for a fight, and may have ended up inventing one by the end of the game.

Its crap agreed.

Also factually wrong as I'm sure Yobo must have called Lescott a "Fucking Klingon"

Patrice Evra reveals racist abuseJune 8, 2010

Email PrintBy Soccernet staff

New France captain Patrice Evra is happy to be back in Africa - but has revealed the racist abuse he received in his native Senegal.

Patrice Evra has revealed that he was racially abused for choosing France over Senegal.

Evra will lead France out against Uruguay in Cape Town on Friday, but the Manchester United defender decided to overlook Senegal, the country where he was born, to represent France at international level.

"I grew up amid a Senegalese culture at home." Evra said. "But we became westernised very quickly and when I had to choose between playing for Senegal or France my father told me to follow my heart.

"I opted for France, as that was where I had grown up, but I then came in for lots of abuse in Senegal.

"I was called a monkey who grovels before the white man and labelled a money-obsessed traitor to the nation. But my parents helped me get through it.

"I had not been back to Senegal since the age of 10. I have still not returned. It is 19 years now and I need an incentive to make me go."

Despite the abuse, Evra is proud that the tournament is being held in Africa for the first time. He said: "I have two wishes. I want to win it for France and hope it is a huge party for football and all Africa with no security problems.

Evra also on trial in row

If no proof is found to validate Patrice Evra's claims of racism towards Luis Suarez, the Manchester United defender must have the book thrown at him by the Football Association.

No one but the players really know who was the instigator in last weekend's derby but Evra certainly came off worse on the TV pictures the Frenchman feels will vindicate his side of the story.

Sky Sports has already revealed it found no evidence to back up Evra's comment that Suarez uttered racial slurs "at least 10 times" during Saturday's 1-1 draw.

He has previous. In April 2008, Evra claimed a Chelsea groundsman had insulted him while warming down following United's 2-1 defeat which sparked a brawl. Evra was banned for four matches, fined £15,000 and allegations of racism were dismissed.

The argument that banning Evra would set a dangerous precedent for other players as they would be too scared to come forward is outweighed by ensuring antagonistic individuals do not hide their distasteful behaviour by simply 'playing the race card'.

If Suarez is indeed guilty, he must be met with a hard line in keeping with the 'kick racism out of football' mantra. But if not, so should Evra.

Looks the press is slowly turning on Evra.

I think this proves beyond all doubt what many of us suspected:

It's not racism Patrice. Everyone just really fucking hates you.

ps

You've got to admire Suarez though; avoided detection from cameras, the referee and the other 20 players, done it through his teeth like a fucking ventriloquist in his second language,

I googled for racist ventriloquist and found

Ideally, the FA would have come out with an immediate statement along the lines of: "All accusations of racism are taken seriously, but all players are innocent until proven guilty." Instead they muttered something about "making inquiries", which downgrades the principles at stake.

KENNY DALGLISH gives his view on the Luis Suarez - Patrice Evra situation

Luis Suarez has received the full backing of Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish over the ongoing race row with Manchester United's Patrice Evra.

In his press conference a few minutes ago at Anfield, Dalglish offered Suarez his total support:

"Liverpool football club and everyone at the club is totally, utterly and fully behind Luis Suarez.

"There was an allegation after the game of diving all over the place [From Man United's Alex Ferguson], and another allegation from Patrice Evra.

"Obviously, the two things are quite emotive, but we fully support Suarez in both things, and everybody at the football club does.

"The club came out at the start of the week and made their position known, and apart from what I've just said, we won't be adding to it.

" We fully look forward to a complete and transparent report from the FA, and we'll cooperate 100% fully".

"The only thing I will say - and then it is put to bed - is that the football club and everyone at the football club is totally and utterly fully behind Luis Suarez," said the Scot.

"There was an allegation after the game about him diving all over the place and there was an allegation from Patrice Evra.

"Obviously the two things are emotive but we support the wee man on both things.

"At the start of the week the club made their position known and apart from what I have said we won't be adding to it.

"We are fully looking forward to a complete, transparent report from the FA and we will co-operate 100%."

A polite "fuck off" to both Evra and Ferguson.

The Hyde article is a bit shit.

She singularly forgets to mention just how much of a shit-bag Evra is, and that we owe it to Suarez to consider him innocent until proven guilty.

The Lescott thing is unfortunate, and indicative of the FA's inability to manage anything properly. It's nothing to do with this case, I feel for Lescott if he felt the FA were unwilling to take him seriously. But Evra is a different case, he's got previous and he's failed to make anything stick. Like I've said before, Evra is one of hundreds of black players in the modern game, and I've not heard many other racist complaints from any other players in this country. Evra himself has been at the heart of a huge percentage of racism claims, which suggests that either the player has been in direct contact with a lot of racists (in which case, where are the other claims against these players from other black players in the division), or he's fabricating the claims. All the evidence thus far points to the latter.

She brought rape into it, which is an appalling comparison to make and she should be taken to task for that.

KEN

" We fully look forward to a complete and transparent report from the FA, and we'll cooperate 100% fully".

Fucking right Kenny, show us the evidence and we'll do something about it. Until then, it's fucking madness to expect us to reprimand a player who has been proven to have done nothing wrong, and protests his innocence.

Whether it's Suarez or Connor Coady, I would expect the same of the club in standing-by a player accused of something where no evidence to prove his guilt has been brought to our attention.

If the Evra claims are correct, then not only Suarez should get hoofed for it, but Andre Marriner should also get the boot for it, because he HAS to have heard at least one of the countless times he is reported to have been called a nigger, and hid from it.

I would expect Ferguson to back his player. Wouldn't you?

In fairness to Fergiscum I don't think he foresaw Evra doing what he did.

I mean I could be wrong, I think the Mancs arn't as innocent as some make them out to be in the devious conspiracy stakes.

But in this case I think Fergie was left little choice when Evra ran crying to French tv. In fact I'd say his relative quietness on the matter is surprising and hints at the fact that he probably doesn't fully believe it.

Didnt he go with him to report the matter to the referee? This was before the interview

How do the slander laws actually work? I can't imagine that we would have "prove that he didn't do it" to sue the fucker. Besides, what more proof do you need than not one of the many cameras or players on the pitch picking it up, despite the fact that he supposedly said it "ten times".

The thing is. This isn't just a case of walking up to someone in the room, calling someone it and then walking away.

There are 10 racist remarks by Suarez NONE of which have been spotted on TV Cameras, CCTV, Backed publicly by United players as well as 20 players on the pitch and 4 other officials. This is the most watched game in football on the calender. You've got to fucking believe that one of the best players on the pitch is being videoed long enough to at least spot ONE of the TEN racial incidents.

I keep asking myself 'Why would Evra lie?' but then I remember

1. Suarez hasn't been racist

2. Suarez has worked with black players throughout his career

3. There is no fucking evidence to remotely support the accusations.

It's been nearly a week now, and nothing has come out to support Evra.

I'm going to state on record that I believe Evra is lying and he should be punished. If I was being abused I'd be looking at the clock at Anfield, telling the ref, making sure it's fucking known.

Evra is lying, and I hope he's banned the big fucking eejit.

Il say one thing on this and then i will leave it.

Suarez and Evra would have been squaring up all day mostly in and around the united area, at corners and free kicks.

Bear in mind Rio Ferdinand would have been in earshot of these two for most of the times that they would have had time to mouth off on one another.

Does anyone honestly think Ferdinand would not have heard that word at least once, and bearing in mind his character , not have kicked up one almighty fucking fuss about it.

I think not.

The CCTV cameras are that good at Anfield that the one at the top of the Kop can see the ships coming through the river mersey.

There are CCTV trained on the pitch, if Suarez said something it can be caught on CCTV.

I'd say his relative quietness on the matter is surprising and hints at the fact that he probably doesn't fully believe it.

"He feels as if he has been slighted".

That's the word he used for what Suarez is supposed to have done to Evra, as people keep saying, over 10 times.

Previous generations are generally more forgiving of stuff we find disgraceful today, but this is a supposed Socialist isn't it?

After his laughable attempt at elder statesmanship on Friday, he gives the impression that Evra is ruining it all.

Doesn't mean he doesn't believe him though.
