George Harrison had the best perspective on The Beatles. He always stated that the band was nothing special, there were many better bands at the time, its just that the world was looking for an excuse to go crazy and be non-conformist and they visited this upon the Beatles because they were in the right place at the right time

Freddie and the Dreamers were robbed of their legacy.

Couldn't be arsed finding the Beatles post to bump, so I'll put it in here instead.

Went to see that Let It Be at the Empire yesterday. It was the last night, but well worth going to see if it comes back on or is still to show close to you.

The first half was a journey through the years from their Royal Variety Show to Shea Stadium to the Sgt. Pepper era. Costume/look changes, the lot.

The second half was labelled something like "the concert you could only imagine" and was a fictional reunion gig for Lennon's 40th birthday with them all playing a couple of Beatles songs and then some of each band members solo stuff. All finished with a proper scouse arms in the air sing along to Hey Jude.

Good. Apart from the accents when the actors spoke in between songs. So many actors struggle to do a decent scouse accent.

They could just hire locals instead?
