Espionage - The day of the Jackal by Frederick Forsyth

Historical fiction - Fatherland by Robert Harris. Archangel, Pompei, The Cicero trilogy by Harris. All good too but I like Fatherland the best.

Fantasy - The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. First book is called Storm Front. Definitely my favourite book series after the Charlie Parker ones. Strong recommend.

Also, the Charlie Parker series. Thank me later.

I'd add An Officer And A Spy by Robert Harris too, read by David Rintoul.

Any of the Stephen King audiobooks are worth a listen, he loves audiobooks and tends to pick good narrators, 112263 is way better as a listen than a read.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is great, read by Michael Jayston.

The two Stephen Fry Greek Mythology books, Mythos and Heroes are good too.

Anyone got any recommendations for audible

Like espionage, historical fiction and fantasy, methodology but want something new

The Storm before the Storm - by Mike Duncan. It's a look at the era of Roman History just before Caeser el al come to the stage. It starts with the Gracchus' brothers and ends with Sulla. It's a book written by and read out by the guy who did The History of Rome podcast and Revolutions. It's very good.

Mythology - Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman (read by the Author). Listened to it three or four times now. Very good stuff. I couldn't get into the Fry one.

Mythos took a while to get going but I enjoyed it, the Neil Gaiman one is great too.

Get onto John Le Carre’s George Smiley series of books.

the first time I used audible I downloaded the spy who came in from the cold and ended up listening through half a dozen or more.

all narrated by Michael Jaystone who acted in the original TV dramatisation of tinker trailer soldier spy and is excellent in the natrator role.

wont regret it.

Haven't read the book, but the podcast is excellent.

And that period of Roman history is as entertaining as any fiction, IMO. No iron throne, but full of politics, intrigue, war, assassination, etc.

The Discworld audiobooks are fuckin' majestic.

They are, the only issue is i dont like Nigel Planner doing them. I did like Tony Robinson but even £8 is a bit much for a 3.5 hr book. I have that done in 2 days max
